- A tribute to one of the true greats of Doctor Who whose sad death was announced 19th April 2011. Elisabeth Sladen's contribution to the world of Doctor Who cannot be overstated.
This compilation uses the music to be found on the current Doctor Who Series 6 trailer as Elisabeth Sladen not only effortlessly bridged both classic and new Doctor Who her contribution was and is of epic proportions. It seemed appropriate.

Best video I've seen to commemorate the brilliant Lis Sladen and her unparalleled work on Doctor Who. RIP Lis.....you will most definitely be missed.
I grew up watching Liz as Sarah Jane Smith. She was a part of my childhood and one that I will never forget. I miss her already.
She met all the best doctors :)

She could have served as companion from Pertwee to Tennant uninterrupted and nobody would have claimed the show could do better.
What's sad is that a few days before she died, she agreed to do an audiobook (I think) with Tom Baker, reintroducing Sarah Jane into the old Fourth Doctor adventures. This would have meant that the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane would have been traveling together again. That would have made me very happy, to see them together again. She was the best companion.

Elisabeth Sladen is the gold-standard of what a Doctor Who "companion" should be. Probably the first performer in the classic series' history to be just as popular as the eccentric & endearing protagonist himself. She is so greatly missed by all of us who admired the warmth, wit, charm and tenacity she brought to the character of Sarah Jane Smith. Tom Baker's inaugural years in the show were so much the better for Sladen's amazing chemistry and obvious affection for him. So glad she had such a brilliant "comeback" in the new series to bookend such an amazing run as her iconic character. My God, was she GOOD.
Fully agree apart from one detail... she was the best. Loved her then and now x
