I never saw it back in the 80's and recently was given the series 1 DVD. I expected a great series, judging by the comments on social media. What a load of over-rated poop. DIRE acting, with the usual middle class delivery and just where were the tripods? I hardly saw them and never understood their purpose. They 'capped' the population, but for what reason? What did the Tripods gain from us? Half-decent theme tune, sounding like 'Casualty' didn't make up for a poor production. They pulled the series during shooting the second, the real reason being interest had waned and it's not surprising really.

Why use the bloody Doctor Who theme for this vid? The Tripods had fantastic music of its own!

I thought as a kid that was a stretch, because it looked less like her powering her way out and more like she magically made the straps pop open.

I will never understand why critics say Brian Donlevy is all wrong, that he is miscast and being American. He is absolutely brilliant in both movies. It's like he was born to play professor Barnard Quartermass.

Love all the 3 quartermass films, truly great science fiction and to say which one is best , I cannot.

Whoever chose the background music is only causing confusion. It obviously has no connection to “ Dr. Who.”

I think if a network cancels a show they should lose the rights to it. I wish the red tripod was real so it could burn the BBC to the ground and skeletonize the BBC executives that cancelled this show. Same with the fox network that cancelled firefly and dark angel.
