I’ve been using the cleanser for more than a year (Europe) and it’s great. It’s much more gentle and «hydrating» than the hydrating cleanser. I was initially disappointed that it wasn’t an oil cleanser per se, but that disappointment didn’t last as it does everything I want it to. I typically rinse twice with it just to be safe, and sometimes use the SA cleanser as the second cleanser. I am an impatient person when it comes to cleansers and this one clicks all the buttons. Fast, gentle, removes everything easily👌 I have one in my shower and one by the sink. Affordable and great!

I picked up the hydrating oil cleanser last year in the UK and am glad you reviewed it! It is so great at removing all kinds of makeup and layers of sunscreen which is why I am glad to hear it is now more easily available now in the USA. I use it to remove lash glue residues too. I use the hydrating oil cleanser is part of my double cleansing routine and not as tacky as more pricey traditional oil cleaners. Keep the lower price point reviews coming!

The Cerave Oil Cleanser, has been available here in the UK, from Summer 2022. I like most of the Cerave range, I have dry skin. However my skin didn't like this😢
After thoroughly washing this off, even using a microfibre face cloth, I could still feel the squalane on my face! My husband ended up using this as a shaving gel. He said it was better then an actual shaving gel!😅😅

I am happy to hear that Cera Ve products get approval by dermatologists. I used a line from Neutrogena for years, but it seems like they either stopped making it or it was kept out of stores during the supply chain issues a few years ago. So after carefully reading packages, I took a chance on the AM and PM products and a cleanser, and have been very happy with them all. I may try the featured sunscreen (always used the Neutrogena face sunscreen). Thank you for sharing your professional experience with us.

I recently discovered CeraVe "Makeup Removing Cleanser Balm":1.3 oz tub half price special $6 instead of $12 so gave it a try. Love it! U only need a pearl-sized amount yet it spreads wonderfully and gets the job done as a pre-cleanse. It spreads and dissolves water resistant products yet does not feel greasy, sticky nor tacky. My skin is very reactive yet this causes no problem whatsoever. 0:07

I love love love the foaming cleanser. I’ve tried so many over the years and this one is my holy grail. I double cleanse with it and it always leaves my skin feeling so clean and fresh. It gets my sunscreen off so easily too, I use a 21% zinc sunscreen and reapply every 2 hours, so I have a lot to wash off and it does it so easily. No more breakouts from sunscreens. I was using Cerave's foaming cleanser as I have combination and acne-prone skin and the hydrating one is just too heavy for me. However, the foaming cleanser was sometimes drying and I didn't feel like I could use it more than once a day if I needed to. This foaming oil cleanser is perfect for me. Dr Dray is right, it is not oily at all. It is a very lightweight gel with some squalene oil that leaves your skin clean and soft. Possibly the best cleanser I've ever had for my problematic skin.

La roche posay has a similar foaming cleansing oil that’s good for the face and body too. Kinda similar texture. Love the product!

Thank you for pointing it- Unfortunately in Canada Cerave do not release their new products, and we get acces to a very limited choice. No light sunscreens, no healing gel etc, it’s so annoying I am considering switching to La Roche- Posay :((

Another great informative vid. I have been using Cerave PM moisturizer in am! It’s super light and effective for me. Hasn’t increased breakouts. I am still acne prone, in my 60’s🙄

Back in the day I used Burt’s Bees oil cleanser in the winter and I enjoyed it and yes it was a lightweight cleanser that left my skin clean and hydrated. All the big and new drugstore brands made me stop using it, but it’s a good one at an affordable price.

My most fave cleanser is the ✨💖CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin.💖✨ It removes any bullet-proof makeup product with one pump on the first cleanse, doesn't strip your skin, and is unscented!!! I haven't experienced anything better than that so far!

I do use and love cerave, however I did try this product and I found it to be drying on my skin. I tried the new oil cleanser by laroche posay and that one did not make my face dry at all and took all sunscreen and makeup off. So for anyone out there who wants a similar experience and cerave may feel to drying for you check out laroche posay.

I am one of those who would love a single cleanser, as i don't wear makeup, just water resistant sunscreen, so will try this. I've used the Avene Xera Calm oil cleanser,as the first step in a double cleanse, but does'nt remove sunscreen well, so am using Hada labo oil, which has always been a winner. Thanx for reviewing- most helpful.😊

The cleanser is not an oil cleanser, but I suspect it's the company's version of the Avene XeraCalm A.D Lipid Replenishing Cleansing Oil - also not an oil cleanser - at half the price. I've switched to the Cerave from the Avene. Half the cost and without the slightly sticky Avene consistency.

American here living in the UK, and I switch to the Hydrating Foaming Oil cleanser last winter when my skin all of sudden became very sensitive and I started to get redness on my jaw line. It was so sudden when it happened, and I read that your skin and hair can change every so often, so, I'm assuming it was that. Before, I was consistently using Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser and the Moisturizer Cream for 3 years, but now it stings and causes redness. The Hydrating Foaming Oil has been perfect for my skin now and it doesn't sting nor itch like the other products; I highly recommend it! Also, since I cannot use Cerave's Moisturizer Cream anymore, I use Aveeno's Dermexa Emollient Cream as a moisturizer after, and the two combine works perfectly for me.

Hi thank you for posting. I might consider the new cleanser but in the mean time I’m loving my essential cleanser from DRMTLGY. From all I’ve read and researched using a foaming cleanser isn’t recommended for dry & sensitive skin but this one is different it seems. I’ve used Cerave’s hydrating cleanser and I love it.

So far I have tried all the cerave these cleansers. And I liked the regular hydrating one, but it felt like it left a film on my face, but I love this foaming oil cleanser because it has helped my eczema and my acne.

I'm in the UK and I use the foaming cleanser. It's brilliant but it does look and smell like the hand soap they used in schools in the 70's and 80's.
I have sensitive skin and use waterproof mascara and it does a great job. It foams up nicely - it doesn't feel like an oil at all though, definitely more like a gel.
Aside from the cheap hand soap smell, it's great!

Thanks for this thorough and comprehensive review. I'm excited about the new cleanser. I have never used a cleanser that gets rid of all my eye makeup without doing an oil cleanse first so I'm going to try this soon. Thank you for pointing me and my dollars in the right direction!

Where I live, Cerave hasn't lauched either the Gel Cream or the Mineal Sunscreen yet. But the Gel Cleanser is available and is very good - gentle and it really works at the same time 😊

I'm very interested in the face wash. I don't wear makeup very often but I do wear sunscreen and with it being summer I am outside a lot sweating so this face wash will be a big help. It looks like you get a good bang for your buck. I cannot stand when you get a miniscule amount for a higher price. Now we know we can get more for less of a quality product from a quality company.

I have used the foaming oil cleanser for over a year now. I love it. I use it for face and body. I agree with the misleading “oil cleanser” name. When you look up reviews it’s rated really low because people think it’s a traditional oil cleanser but it’s actually a very gentle foaming cleanser. If they had marketed it that way it would have much better reviews. It cleanses my skin, removes water resistant sunscreen without stripping and does a good job on body too. I don’t wear makeup so I can’t speak to that but it’s a HG for me.

I bought these are the oil cleanser to use during the colder dryer winter months. I normally don’t have an issue with dry skin however, I do like the fact that when I wash with this cleanser, my face doesn’t feel tight.
