I am disappointed that Perilous Forays hasn't been recognized for its full potential. It can get *Nonbasic* lands, too, so Triomes, Shock lands, etc, are valid targets. Yeah many are out of Mitch's budget usually, but that info is still helpful for those who aren't bothered by the financial prices of the desired cards.
Fear = is a keyword ability found primarily on black creatures. It is an evasion ability that allows a creature to only be blocked by black or artifact creatures.
These are the videos that make my pod hate me thank you for showing all of us ways to just have fun. I've build 4 commander decks from you videos that stomp the table every time thanks for the content
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa + Goblin Sharpshooter = awesome land destruction. Add a Seedborn Muse in the mix and you become hated at table when playing Commander.
I have him as part of the 99 for my red/green goad deck. Pretty funny when you turn all your opponents lands into creatures, and they all start trying to bargain on what to let get through so they can all minimize their losses without actually losing the game lol
Another great vid, thanks Mitch. One suggestion for a future vid that works like dragon arch but shifted towards tribal themes is an artifact called ‘Cryptic Gateway’. Same effect that can be done more than once per turn and cost 0 mana to activate.
One thing id like to point out for Psychic Possession, When you are the one wheeling, you get both your draws AND their draws, so double the cards for the small cost of 1 card a turn
Dawn of the Dead + Palakka Wurm, Siege Rhino, or, God forbid, Archon of Cruelty + Ashnod's Altar or whatever outlet has been a fun little loop in Commander games.
Fanatical Devotion 2W Enchantment - Sac a creature: Regenerate target creature. This thing is nuts in any deck with a good ratio of tokens to actual creatures and it's $1. It can also target other people's stuff for some politics.
One time a Mycotyrant and 9 fungus tokens attacked various people on the board. Guess who had a Keep Watch in hand and a tapped Kalamax on the board. That's a quick +20 card grip for 3 mana.
27:27 I LOOOOOVE Orochi Hatchery. Never does enough though. You tap out, you got a thing that can make a lot of snakes for 5 mana, but it takes a lot to make it worth. 10 mana cast, 5 snakes for 5 mana is rough. It goes in my Omnath Locus of mana deck cause it can afford to do the shenanigans, but it's rough and I never actually get to do the thing with the Hatchery. Love the card, never good enough :(
Mitch, something you missed about thermopod is the the fact that its a snow permanent, so you can use its own mana to pay for its own ability. That plus a mana rock like coldsteel heart shouldnt be too hard to fit in a deck. They are probably sleeping on this because its obscure. I started playing during coldsnap, and I've never heard of this.
One of my favorite troll cards. I think it doesn’t see play because it only puts one person back (forever). It doesn’t do anything to the other two player and doesn’t help your board at all. I do play it though, because it’s funny and in formats like usurper you can give your ally an amazing hand.
funny how you're like "people still sleeping on this" but if ppl weren't then they wouldnt be budget anymore. It took FOREVER for wayfarer's Bauble to become budget again.
Transmute = is the keyword ability of cards in Ravnica block aligned with the Dimir guild. Transmute works by allowing a player to pay the transmute cost of a given card, discarding the card, then searching their library for a card with the same converted mana cost as the discarded card.
I've used Kamahl's 1st ability so many times whenever someone drops a nuke, i'm like, oh... there goes your lands, not my fault :) there's so many cards that deals with creature removal, it's also good to save your one indestructible creature and your opponent tries to have you sac... i'm like, i'll sac my forest :)
Gate to the Afterlife + God Pharaoh's Gift. Gate says "whenever a nontoken creature you control dies, gain 1 life. Draw a card, then discard a card" and can tutor for God Pharaoh's Gift and put it on the battlefield God Pharaoh's Gift says "at the begining of combat, chose a creature card in your graveyard and exile it. Create a token copy of it, except its a 4/4 Black Zombie with haste until end of turn"
So on Thermopod, the activated ability gives haste but can it even do that if it doesn’t have haste?? You can do it after SS for sure, but not when it matters most?
Excellent list for sure. I do have to mention Debtor's Knell. It's obviously okay to view any card highly but I think this card is really bad. Like really really really bad. Strong effect for sure. It's just ungodly slow. You'll have moments when you ramp into it and can safely deploy some defenses, but that's a big ask. That upkeep clause is just pure pain. It has a big case of "just you wait until I untap" syndrome. I'm not saying all cards have to be super efficient or that there's no room for slow cards here and there... But dear Lord is Debtor's Knell so dang slow. It's a scary card too. Unfortunately in Commander the worst types of cards are the ones that are both scary and slow. You draw in hate but the card is too slow to back you up in time.
Wow, these are great recommendations. I didn't even think of using Kamahl defensively like that, because I only thought if him offensively. Great cards! Liked and subscribed!
Erm it kinda sucks if the opponent you put it on dies then your just skipping your draw step if you can't sacrifice the enchantment. XD I've had that happen in a game.

Another OTJ gem that I love…Last Laugh, so fun watching chain reactions pop off.
Fear = is a keyword ability found primarily on black creatures. It is an evasion ability that allows a creature to only be blocked by black or artifact creatures.
Adding on, this was the precursor of Intimidate, which works the exact same but of the card's color. This was mostly for the other colors.
@@Shoyro there are a few keywords that have made older keywords obsolete, like:
Bloodrush < Channel
Sunburst < Converge
Cascade < Discover
etc

@@jasonrustmann7535that’s amazing!
Dimir House guard is a favourite of mine. Cheap tutor and can be abused if you can get creatures back into ur hand. Very underrated.
I use dimir house guard to fetch the one ring or aetherflux reservoir
Wild Pair was my best card in my Arcades deck, especially most of my defenders had 4 toughness & 0 power.
Houseguard has been a favorite of mine for ages. Currently an all star in my Alesha deck
Omg and the Netherborn Phalanx 😂 think y’all stole my Alesha deck list
Another great vid, thanks Mitch.
One suggestion for a future vid that works like dragon arch but shifted towards tribal themes is an artifact called ‘Cryptic Gateway’.
Same effect that can be done more than once per turn and cost 0 mana to activate.
that card is such a fun one in my pantzlaza deck. constantly fuels itself by discovering a new dino after you play one.
I use Dawn of the Dead with Sidisi, Undead Vizier. it's the best repeatable tutor ever.
One thing id like to point out for Psychic Possession, When you are the one wheeling, you get both your draws AND their draws, so double the cards for the small cost of 1 card a turn
i can’t believe you’d let the guided passage secret out. secondary market lovers need to stay away
I run it in my Riku deck.
@duyas1628 same it's one of my favorite tutors in magic because it's fun to make 0eople pick there doom lol. Or add some chaos in some cases.
Dawn of the Dead + Palakka Wurm, Siege Rhino, or, God forbid, Archon of Cruelty + Ashnod's Altar or whatever outlet has been a fun little loop in Commander games.
9:18 'gate to the afterlife' is the card you're thinking of!
Damn that perplex was exactly what I was looking for, thanks Mitch!
I use kamahl with og elesh norn as a way to remove strong lands like cabal coffers. As well as u said wrath prevention
That was a fun video. Loved every second of it.
Dimir house guard… in a Teysa Karlov will cause nausea ! I know… my opponents are sick of it!😅
Literally put dawn of the dead in my Obeka deck 5 minutes ago

Head Games in Zevlor is insane. Sculpt the hand of all your opponents at once.

Pretty new to magic (only about threw years) and didn't know most of these existed.
Aurification is amazing wordplay
I am grabbing those black cards 👻
guided passage my beloved, one of best & most fun cards in the format
Honestly I think Headgames is one of my favorite cards in all of magic!
One of my favorite troll cards. I think it doesn’t see play because it only puts one person back (forever). It doesn’t do anything to the other two player and doesn’t help your board at all. I do play it though, because it’s funny and in formats like usurper you can give your ally an amazing hand.
Fuggin LOVE guided passage. PRINT TO MODERN PLS!!!!
I remember when debtor's knell was a pricey card. Always loved it.
Edit: same with perilous forays.
Phyrexian Tyranny is one of my favorite cards of all time.
funny how you're like "people still sleeping on this" but if ppl weren't then they wouldnt be budget anymore. It took FOREVER for wayfarer's Bauble to become budget again.
Gemstone Array would actually be pretty good in the 5 color Omnath, as you can just 2:1 filter your black mana into any color for those 3 color spells
Run a multi combat phase deck, with forced blocks. Might add the Kamahl to force opponents to block with their lands as a last resort.
I love phirexian tyranny. I've played it as long as I've played commander.
You always can give Thermopod haste since hes a snow permanent. He can use his ability to pay for himself.

love dragon arch prolly a key peice for my Ur-Dragon Deck
Web of Inertia is a spicy meatball! Thanks for the tip!
thanks for sharing these gems
Manabond great for reanimate decks Meren, Muldrotha, ......
Malevolent Awakening is AMAZING for recursion themes
Orim's chant is crazy mean and crazy good
Golgari Germination would work well in Slimefoot & Squee decks.
Tangleroot + Lifecrafter's Beastiary is free card draw on creature spells
Gate to the Afterlife + God Pharaoh's Gift. Gate says "whenever a nontoken creature you control dies, gain 1 life. Draw a card, then discard a card" and can tutor for God Pharaoh's Gift and put it on the battlefield
God Pharaoh's Gift says "at the begining of combat, chose a creature card in your graveyard and exile it. Create a token copy of it, except its a 4/4 Black Zombie with haste until end of turn"
I personally have it in my Azorious Zombie Eternalize/Embalm deck
Great one two; the first helps set up the second part SOOO well.
Deptors Knell for some reasons puts a mark on your back too
cyclonic rift plus headgames?
So Dawn of the Dead is on the thumbnail but doesnt warrant any discussion? feels bad lol
Sac reassembling skeleton a bunch then make that many bears
So on Thermopod, the activated ability gives haste but can it even do that if it doesn’t have haste?? You can do it after SS for sure, but not when it matters most?
Summoning sickness affects tapping and attacking. There is no tap symbol in its cost. 👍
Whirlpool warrior would be perfect for a Niv-Mizzet deck.

Niceeeeeeee love these
slate of ancestry in my myrel deck : the dream :D
If cards have a hybrid cost, but one of the colors is not in your commanders identity is it still legal?
No
Wow, these are great recommendations. I didn't even think of using Kamahl defensively like that, because I only thought if him offensively. Great cards! Liked and subscribed!
Thermopod produces the mana to make itself have haste.
Tangleroot + chulane.
Yes, I hate you for this combo... also play this combo
Transmute is… slow. That’s why it doesn’t see much play. I usually just put in a real tutor.
wheres the downside on psycic possession? its just a later draw step.
Erm it kinda sucks if the opponent you put it on dies then your just skipping your draw step if you can't sacrifice the enchantment. XD I've had that happen in a game.
@@lokidragon8725 but it's an aura, it would be sent to the graveyard when the enchanted player dies
Love em.
"That being said..." (Count:XX)
Lol Dimir House Guard and Netherborn Phalanx can transmute both halves of Aetherflux Citadel combo😂😂😂
I have keep watch in my ninja deck
Keep Watch should be reprinted as a white card. As should Theft of Dreams.
THERMOPOD IS A SNOW SOURCE
Neeever counter the tutor!!! You counter what they tutor for lmao 😂
Gate to the afterlife?
Mitch does it matter at all? Like at all? :)
Hay buddy i was tring to find your my little pony deck please help
thermopod another phrexian altar.
Thermopod cost 5 mana…
Yes, that's correct. . . your point?
First😂
Does he know protection doesn’t protect against boardwipe 😅
