Opening an account with BN was easy as a pensionado. I actually enjoy my bank visits. While I can pay my bills online, I choose to do so in person at the bank. Yes, musical chairs in the “preferential treatment” categories, but the bank personnel and I get to know each other, and I get to meet local Ticos while in line! Plus I enjoy the walk to the bank and being downtown. Also, know which days to avoid- usually Fridays being pay days, 1st and 15th as salaries and pensions are paid then too, and the day before a national holiday. Just go with the flow, remember we’re living in Pura Vida land!
Do you think I would get thrown out of the bank if I played "Pop goes the Weasel" or the theme song from Final Jeopardy on a continuous loop on my cell phone? It isn't received very well here in Ohio.
How Wise card is working there? Can I redraw money from the Wise account? Do the big food stores accept cards or mostly cash? Which currency is most accepted, the Colon or Dollar? Can you cash out Bitcoin in Colon? Can you buy property in Bitcoin? Why are you talking about deposits? I thought is more about withdraws 😄
Hello! yes you can pay with cards in most of the places, in colones or dollars, about buying property with bitcoin that really depends on the owner, there are owners that do accept. Cashing bitcoin to Colon yes you can, you can check the app Bitcoin Jungle
With Crypto becoming a payment method, any merchants accepting crypto? This is the game changer, instantaneous and irreversible. Any government talks about CBDCs? We certainly DO NOT WANT THEM. Thanks Sarah for the videos

There are very few that accept crypto. Mostly foreign owned businesses. But very very few in comparison to those who do not accept it
