Funs not over yet! Dude still has to reattach the trailer to the dolly.
I will say, once he realized he'd gotten himself into a bad spot he was quick to form a plan to get out. One could argue it wasn't the best plan, but it worked nonetheless. One thing I noticed- once he got the 2nd trailer locked in, he immediately dragged it off the tracks, and only once it was clear did he attach the airbrake and electrical lines. He definitely understood the danger of his situation.

I don’t claim to know more than he, but I wonder if the situation could’ve been solved by bringing the truck towards the camera, possibly up onto the sidewalk a bit, and heading the wrong way down the side street.
Despite getting into this situation, he’s clearly a professional and knows what he’s doing. He noticed he was jackknifing the second trailer and it would be damaged if he kept going, then he set the landing gear to exactly the correct height so he could just ‘couple’ and go, pulling away cautiously in case it wasn’t actually locked. Great work!

The construction equipment has been there for weeks with seemingly very little construction activity. It's about as bad as the extremely slow platform replacement at the train station thats been going on for months on end. Also, I could be mistaken but the driver was a contractor using his tractor leased to Fedex to pull their trailers. The Fedex trucks with a sleeper is a leased tractor and the ones with day cab tractors are company owned. I could be wrong though.

Knowing how these contractors are with their road closed signage I bet the explanation is that there wasn't a sign far enough down the road for the driver to see and react to in time to avoid nonsense. I drive a bus for a living and the number of times I've had to do multiple bock backups just for want of a " construction road closed sign" is flat out silly.
Honestly I think they expect big rig drivers to be remote viewers. "Oh there's a road closed around the next block... Maybe I should turn a block early".

A lot of the driver/delivery jobs at Fedex are done as contract labor so Fedex doesn't have to pay employment taxes or offer any benefits. It's a terrible company to work for IMO. A long time ago at a UPS terminal far away. I went to hook to a set of doubles. Back then UPS had air over hydraulic landing gear. No crank just put air to the trailer and raise or lower. Well the trailer was to tall for my 5th wheel. So i hooked up the airlines and released the brakes. I streched the curl out of a set of curly plastic airlines. ALWAYS CUT THE AIR OFF TO THE BACK TRAILER WHEN HOOKING UP TO THE FRONT WAGON!!! It was only my 3rd or 4th time pulling pups.

I dont think you are supposed to use a semi tractor with tandem axles and a sleeper to pull tandem trailers, I think it puts you way over the length limit, not sure however, so someone correct me if I am wrong. Driver could have done something different if he had taken a moment to size up the situation and look at his mapping software.

Volvo’s are made for all of North America in Dublin Va, trivia: the plant in Dublin actually started as White Motors (Autocar) in 1974 and was acquired by Volvo in 1994. Renault bought Mack in the late 90s and then was acquired by Volvo so both Mack and Volvo are the same corporate entity DBA: Volvo Trucks North America HQ in Greensboro NC. So yes technically Volvo is a foreign brand name but nearly all the engineering and manufacturing is done here in the US with mostly US suppliers, Paccar (Pete & KW) & Navistar trucks are primarily made in Mexico with only final assembly in the US. At one time Mack Hwy & Volvo hwy tractors were both made in Dublin Va (2001-2007 ish)

You call the 800 number listed on the little blue sign usually mounted on the crossing signal mast. By the time 911 figures out where you are and
who to call, it's too late. Calling 911 is a waste of time in an emergency like this.

Remind me of Farming Simulator. Actually, you can't do this in ETS2 or ATS. Because they actually only support "articulate" in trailer, the double or triple train are actually considered as one single "articulated" trailer, so you can't detach the second trailer from first trailer (B-double) or its dolly (like this video). Farming Simulator support road train, you can do exactly the same thing (except the landing gear and trailer connection) in FS.
