Eventually encoded into MP4.

I think those might be sprites, which audibly sound like fart noises, but you can’t really see those sprites cuz I think they’re decoded in a different way…

I was tearing out my hair last night as I was trying to do the exact same thing. I used similar command parameters in FFMpeg like you did, but for some reason the RGB555 thing caused the video to come out looking like a corrupted digital TV signal (basically, there were no p-frames).
Getting rid of that command argument fixed that problem, but upscaling the video to 640x480 caused it to look fuzzy. Not to mention that it would've been completely out of sync with the audio, having about double the bitrate. I wanted the audio to be at 11025hz, because that's the sampling rate the game's sounds are recorded at, and anything higher would make it sound too fast.
Do you have any suggestions as to what I should do?

using ffmpeg I have converted doom (imported as raw data) to mp4
basically telling ffmpeg that no matter what's in the file, it must turn it into mp4
audio/video syncing is a bit more complicated though
the resolution multiplied by the framerate MUST equal to the audio rate (in hz)
then upscaled a bit because at its native resolution it's too small and compression and pixel interpolation will destroy it
as for the actual command i'll have to retrieve it from my old hard drive
What's the command to force ffmpeg to convert to video?
just ffmpeg -i something.raw -f rawvideo -pixel_format rgb555 -r 25 -size 20x20 something.mp4
The size part is probably wrong, you can check the documentation for resolution setting

Im not an expert in ffmpeg, also sorry for the late reply, but i dont know much about it, im just a kid trying to convert an nes rom to a video, anyways, yeah the size part is wrong.

In droidsound e you can play any file as audio by renaming the file extension to .raw, though you can't really customize the playback settings very much unfortunately
