  • Welcome to my latest adventure with the DJI Avata 2!
In this video, I take my DJI Avata 2 drone for its first flight in manual mode. As you can imagine, the experience was exhilarating and full of surprises. From steady beginnings to testing out new maneuvers, it was a thrilling ride from start to finish.
Unfortunately, not everything went as planned, and I had a minor crash. 😅 But don't worry, both the drone and I are fine! This mishap taught me a lot about handling the Avata 2, and I'm excited to share these experiences with you.
    What to Expect:
    Pre-flight setup and preparations
First impressions of flying in manual mode
The moment of the crash and my reaction
Tips on how to recover and learn from such incidents
Join me on this exciting journey and see firsthand what it's like to take leap into manual flight with the DJI Avata 2 . If you enjoy the video, don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more drone and photography adventures!

More from me, that commenting fool, lol. I wasn't aware Avata 2 had the attitude limit control. This was all on ONE BATTERY? IMPRESSIVE if true. That looks like a VERY useful way to scale up from normal/sport to manual without getting discouraged, or needing a Care Refresh Incident, lol. I wonder of Avata 1 had it. Is it further scalable in degrees or just one level of attitude limits? As I watched a bit further you appear to answer that question, looks like its a preset locked at certain limits, right? I learned a fair bit from this. That acro/manual kicks off at high altitude (400 feet/120 Meters?) -that wind will take you where it will, with GPS essentially not commanding positional hold. I assume it's a hybrid GPS that would still allow "Find My Drone" mapping (or that can be used AFTER a crash, assuming there is battery left to do so. Lots of good info - I appreciate you making this video. At 1.3k views it appears others do as well. - I suspect you did that weed-whacking when you used Turtle Mode, grabbing grass whilst flipping, but I was impressed turtle mode worked like a charm!

      Hi Again!
After a quick bit of research the Avata 1 does also have the attitude limiter so that may be a more budget friendly FPV Starting point (It is also a bit more resilient to crashes). The Attitude limit is set to around 30 degrees and cannot be changed at this time but i found that gives plenty of manoeuvrability whilst maintaining that safety net. Home Point and GPS tracking still function in manual mode and the Turtle mode proves to be excellent. Thank you again for your comments on the video!

"This was all on ONE BATTERY? IMPRESSIVE if true" It was just under 2 Full Batteries.

@@MechanisedImagery Thanks for the response! Yes Avata 2 is still too new to find any notable discounts. Annoying that a)cannot find any combo that includes Controller 3, and I would want it -$200 on top of whatever Avata 2 Combo - likely a Fly more Combo) With OG Avata there are lot on the market from folks upgrading to A2.
Ideally if I went with the original, I'd get a Fly More the Motion 2 controller, 3 batteries Original controller Goggles 2 or Integra (no preference) and possibly a hard case or backpack case. I believe they mostly fixed the flight quirk that had Avatas flying earthbound at full speed and unrecoverable. Drawbacks are louder/more pitchy props, shorter flight times, and no "easy acro" flips and such. That last one seems cheesy, like the little toys you by small children. I can't find an Avata 2 Fly more kit under $1200 - Plus $200 for Controller 3. A lot for something I can't be sure I'll like. So... no OG FPV? It goes 39 m/s -140.4 kph! In my case probably right into the ground! Lol! Thanks for your thoughts!

Just found your channel. I've owned pretty much all of DJI Consumer Drones, currently Mini 4 Pro, Air 3, Air 2S (for se with Inst360 Sphere Camera), and Mavic 3 Pro. No FPV models, and considering Avata 2, possibly Neo due to release soon, or the original DJI FPV Beast (Refurbished or used -to see if FPV is for me. This video, going Manual First flight is illustrative of what I am most curios about - Flying Manual. If I can't pull that off, I think ANY FPV from DJI is not going to take me too far from Camera Drones, though I realize I can take all the time I need to make that move. Do you feel like a couple months, as you have done prior to flying manual is about right for you? I am NOT a patient person, but I would want several dozen flights in Normal/Sport before venturing manual, and sure, I can use a simulator, but I don't think I would like that all too much. Apologies for long comment, but thanks mate! - Hey, I am your 10th Subscriber! That's your 2nd milestone! ("1" being the other.) I kid, but seriously, you deserve more subs, and I hope it happens. Its a bit like a snowball. Get one vid up with a fair number of views and it gets rolling! Good luck!

Hi! Firstly thank you for your comments on my video its just a start for me that will hopefully continue along smoothly...
I think the progression onto manual flight is like picking up any new skill, start progressing within your capability and you'll be fine. Having previous experience with other DJI camera drones will help massively as your muscle memory on the sticks will already be there. I was actually out today to try some close proximity flying in woodland but I was unfortunately rained off (Video Coming Soon lol)

    Nice :)
At which position did you have to hold the throttle to roughly hover when straight?
For me it's at about 70% - which feels way too high.. I'd love to hover at about 40%, but I don't see any settings to change that.

    • @MechanisedImagery
      @MechanisedImagery  Месяц назад

      Hi Templartey,
If your Avata 2 is in Used within CE regions ie. UK and Europe you will require more throttle to maintain a hover, In FCC regions the throttle output is higher so it requires less Throttle to hover.
There are workarounds to use FCC power in CE regions however please ensure that you remain with your areas laws and regulations.
