East Anglia Freight Diverts November 2018, GEML | 17-24/11/18

During the late November period the Great Eastern Mainline was closed between Shenfield and Liverpool Street due to overhead line works at Ilford, this ment freight had to divert via Ely and Stowmarket so i decided to head down on the 17th and 24th of November. Locations seen are Stowmarket and Thurston.

The thing that strikes me with Greater Anglia is that they terminate at Ingatestone instead of Shenfield when the works are at Ilford, mainly because Shenfield has far more platforms/capacity and a straight connection to Southminster & Southend. The only reason I can think is that they have more room for coaches at Ingatestone. Anyway, great video! :)
