Hello Darren, brilliant video, I just wondered if I could use part of this video for a documentary I am making on GEML- with appropriate credit of course! Many thanks
@@DarrensVlog thanks appreciate it! I'm making a video on Anglia in particular so that might not interest you as much but it'll be useful footage for the first few years of operation when they didn't brand all their services! I agree though, the late 90s was an interesting time for railways so don't blame you if this video topic is less interesting - thank you nevertheless though 😆
@expressboy1983 I disagree that ithe first part was in the evening, it looks more like early morning as there were 8 and 12 coach 312s and 321s heading to London and a 4 coach 312 to Clacton direction. If it was evening you'd see lots of 8 and 12 coach 312s and 321s heading to Clacton/Ipswich. Are you sure it wasn't 08:11?
@86501freightliner I would guess a boat train, as listening to the announcement shortly after that shot, it was sometime in late afternoon, early evening. The next IC service south was the 18.11 departure.
86246 86218 travveling backwards towards nowich loving the funny faulty headlight of 86223 86238 sounded great 86215 put up a good show aswell and 86238 again
I never thought I'd say this about the class 321s but the class 321s look cute standing together at 8:25 .
In their original colours

Yes help yourself, tell me when it’s published the GE is of particular interest up to the late 90s. After that I’m not so interested lol

Bloody heck those 312 units and the 86s/DBSO Intercity sets don't half bring back memories...!
Amazing video

Brilliant, Wonderful memories.
And btw, with the 86 set going through, was that a boat train from Harwich or the morning "East Anglian" to Liverpool Street?

The catenary supports are robust: I wonder if the original electrification was planned at 1500v dc only to be changed at the last minute
+Isochest This was the first line in the uk to have OLE. this line also saw the testing of Class 76 prototype 76000 Tommy
