Autumn is good time to do Colchester as there is always a lot of DRS railhead cleaning workings around the station as well as the usual container traffic. Not sure if the plan is eventually to improve the route to WCML and midlands via Peterborough route so a lot of the container traffic routes via north London line may cease and go north from Ipswich rather than south. Also find it ironic that I now live in Colchester but grew up in Kettering on the MML where the 360s are heading.
Thank you for this long comment which is great for people who don't now what may happen in the future when it comes to the container traffic to the north. I know about the talk relating to all container traffic going via Ely and Peterborough, but that will increase them using more Diesel locos when freightliner keep say they want more electric locos on there trains. Yes it seams someone doesn't what you to travel on a class 360 unit lol.
That's great Tony, pleased you enjoyed your time there, its a station I like to film at. Will do my last trip on Wednesday before we go back into bloody lockdown again.
@@bryannewman5012 when the new 720 units come on stream, emu variety will be decimated The 360 units are a lovely train, bar 1st class, I sneaked a couple of rides Stratford - liverpool street and vice versa, and found 1ST class on the 360 units less comfortable than standard class, and if I was a commuter, NO WAY would I pay to commute 1st class (if I could afford it) On the 321 units, 1st class isn't much better, but it's all going to be history soon
Evening Mike. Looked like a nice day out in Essex 😀 I had a few good evening there when I parked overnight in my lorry near by back in the 80s Cans still running 🤣 Still a busy line? Have you heard anything about Wincanton buying out DB schenker uk devision 🤔 Lockdown is coming so hope your not hemmed too much Mike. Great m hoping a trip to Rugby tomorrow 👍🏻Take care if your out and about Stevie.
Morning Stevie I did my last trip for a bit yesterday but I still got loads of videos to upload during the next month to keep me busy. This line is busier now than it was in the 80s I think Stevie but I hold my hands up if I'm wrong. No not heard about this Wincanton deal interesting stuff, well going to Rugby is not to far for you mate. Well all I can do is do some painting take the runner beans down and walk the dog. Cheers Mike.
From 1998-2001 I was a member of the East anglian railway museum at chapel and wakes colne. I had my membership revoked over a petty matter, but if they felt they could do without the privilege of my membership, their loss, not mine But anyway, the view hasn't changed a lot over the years In those days the sudbury branch had no winter train service, and it was a bus to colchester and train from there to Stratford London, or to chelmsford and train home, the 321 units are About the last link from those days,
Sorry to hear that happened to you Keith, and yes you can see the class 321 are still around but should have gone by now and replaced by the new class 720 but as always with this country its always a year behind.
antman09ful1 your welcome same here I'm behind so I can réalèse my backlog during lockdown I had planned Atherstone for an afternoon on Tuesday I am going to go as a last filming day before lockdown.
hi there, great video as usual. Before its too late someone or a group should registar interest in one of these 86s in running order. so it can run on the main line and do tours. don't let circus clowns scrap them. no use running to mum when this might happen,
Not been to Colchester for ages Mike, seems like a busy station. Interesting video

Great line for our hobby Bryan, but not as good as the past. Mike.
@@antman09ful1 Have to agree with you on that Mike.

Interesting video. Been some years since I went to Colchester. Some of the freight goes through pretty fast.
It is a line and station I like to visit at less once a year.
Nice vid mate
Cheers for taking a look, when we go on lockdown again I still have loads of videos to upload. Mike.
@@antman09ful1 your welcome and that's good so do I as well
