Norwich Station in August 1998 with Hastings DEMU and RES Shunts

VHSc Camcorder footage taken at Norwich in August 1998 whilst the Hastings DEMU was hired to Anglia Railways. As well as Intercity Anglia Class 86 and DBSO sets RES Shunts are seen. THE DEMU is aslo shown at Great Yarmouth. Back then I never realised I work work for the Railway and indeed work the Hastings DEMU as a Charter Guard. Have worked the DEMU in East Anglia many times now

Love seeing 86218 with its white roof, and nice powerful pull out of the station there.

Anglia used to have this whilst I was doing my driver training and was used before the arrival of seven 3 car class 170's. Never got the chance to ride in it but was most impressed that it out accelerated even a class 156 out of the station. The engine sounded just like the class 08 when you thrashed it! Happy Days!

Nice shots there! Seems mad that Anglia used the DEMU regularly on the Yarmouths..! I have some footage of the top and tail 47s that covered for a 153 that I will be uploading at some point soon.
