Great video, thanks. One thing puzzling me though, why guttering some sides and not others? Where do you need the guttering and where can you do without it? I would be gateful for any info, thanks.
Thanks for producing such helpfull building guides, One question when you glue the rubber, do you start from the center and work out to the sides or start at one end ?
How long after installing can the roof be gotten wet? I hoping to install my roof on Saturday morning but looks like it might rain around 4pm and over night, I was wondering if that's going to have a negative impact?
Brilliant guide. I see some garden rooms now where the roofline isn't visible at all - no fascias, soffits or overhang at all - just cladding all the way up. Are these finished the same way as this one and the cladding simply fixed in front? Or is a different technique needed?
I am considering doing a self-build and your videos are a great inspiration, this series is the no nonsense flavour. Can you go over floor installation, and by this I mean insulation and construction, I know you put PIR on top of the concrete slab, do you put rebar in the concrete slab? Also is it better to add PIR after the damp membrane then concrete over the PIR? I just feel you loose height adding PIR to a concrete base and not in the concrete base, but no idea if its better or worse thermal values?. Still learning.
Yes you're totally correct. You loose head height with the way we do it however if you want to insulate a slab then you need to dig down a fair bit so the base is thick enough to insulate. For customers that's normally not very cost efficient so our way works best for them. Thermal values probably not much in it. Cost value however - Dirt away from base - more concrete - labour ect it works out way more expensive. Don't think about it too much just get building 😉
Thanks for taking the time out to reply and yes that all makes sense, never thought about that, another 100mm just for a sub base is a lot of dirt. I do prefer your way, I seen another who build a floor frame on top of the concrete slab and insulated between the frame, found that a little not cost effective. May I ask what size insulation did you use on the floor? I am assuming 50mm, due to the floor levelling up to the bi folds? Just trying to get my head around it all. Yes I should of started building a while back, I am obsessed with these builds, glad to see you are back doing videos. @@creategardenrooms
This might be a silly question but how do you fit the facia boards on the side given that the roof has a pitch? do you have to cut the angle along the length? Hope that makes sense
Getting geared up to do a build of my own following your videos. Just panning at the minute. One question, your plastic facia do you get those from Avenir? I can't see them! Thanks so much for all the vids!
Thanks very much 👍👍 Facias and box profile sheets for unseen side cladding are from Roofline in High Wycombe. You can also get it online if you’re not near them, cladco do the sheets and I think the do facias too 👍👍
Great tips on the cladding and Soffit and the expert cutting for great finishes. Overall great serios, no nonsense series this one.
Awesome thanks mate
Hi, loving the videos. What was the glue you used for the rubber roof. Thanks

The roof is on a slant, so the rain water will flow towards the bottom. This is where the guttering should be.
What rubber roofing do you use and how vulnerable is it? PS, do you go as far as Cambridge?

Great videos! - so awesome to have instructions so complete and consise! - Question - How much do all the materials cost for this build?
Put a cut list together and work it out 😉

Bit of a different technique. Same double batten and then put clad then you can do the roof trims.
Good job
Amazing job, just starting my own bit👌 could you post link to this epdm roof set or at least advise where best to get it?
Avenir roofing high Wycombe 👍
What rubber thickness do you use?
which vid is the joining the rubber together on? was it done with a tape or adhesive?

No the roof is all square it’s the walls that give the pitch if you get what I mean. Watch more vids it explains it 😎
Where did you get your rubber from for the shed roof
thank you!
