I got my 2004 Nissan Sentra two years ago for only $600. It had 218,000 miles and needed some fixing, but now it's at 242,000 running strong, getting excellent gas mileage, and it hasn't let me down yet. :)

Have a 2005 sentra with 380,000. Rebuilt the engine at 308,000. Cast iron block that can be bored to 40 over. Aluminum head has changeable valve seats and guides. Very rebuildable. Mine is a 5 speed standard. Great, economical car.
I got the same car, it's a great car. It sometimes has let me down but its nothing that cant be fix. Its efficient and works real well if you take care of the engine. I have had it for 3 years with now 220,000 miles and it continues to run well.
I picked up my 01 Sentra SE 2.0 for the paltry sum of $300.00. The previous owner bought his dream car and was going to junk it. This was 6 years ago and it has been very reliable. I recently had to replace the front springs and struts because one of the springs snapped and started dragging on the tire. 218,000 miles and counting.
Probably going get to get one in May. My driver said it handled very well and it was slow when he gassed it, but still fast enough to get us up to traffic speed and not speed. Good car
I got a 2005 Sentra S in 2017 for 4,500$ and it had 50k miles on it. I drove 3,000 miles in 1 month I love it so much I did all the work on need that needed to be done. And at 53,000 a drunk dude hit me and spun me around and totalled it and I'm still upset never found anything like it. But I'm thankful to be alive and to be blessed with my beloved 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road
I just bought a 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S and i love it. It does sound like it gots power...so compact, feel like i can maneuver around better. Filled up on premium gas $29...
Thank you for posting. I live about three hours from my son and I need a reliable affordable practical vehicle. I think a Sentra just might be a great option for me. I’m keeping my kind open I’ve never owned a Nissan before
hey kyle, beautiful video. i'm about to meet someone tomorrow to check out a 2005 nissan sentra for a $2,000 asking price. the seller told me the only issue was with the rear window motor on the passenger side. this seems solid according to your comments, but is there anything i should look out for at 153k miles?
Anyone know if the 2005 Nissan Sentra SE is reliable? Its my first car and it already had 192k miles on it and so far the only thing that went wrong was the alternator.
Got a 02 gxe with 150k on it. Runs great but needs a clutch. I only get 30 to 32 mpg all highway. Less than I expected but way better than my v8 truck. Good car so far.
Not sure if you got one yet, but I highly recommend the B15 model any year from -2004/2006 , I have it and it’s so fun to drive . It’s so reliable and very fuel efficient, only problems I’ve had was getting the brake lights replaced
I got my 2001 Sentra SER for $1200. I put 30,000 miles on it in the last year I do Uber eats, Only thing I had to replace the belt. Other than that no problem. I love how basic it is nothing breaks
I'm sure the G20 save more gas than the second Focus I have I mean the first one is the second Focus saves more gas in my opinion because it has a computer that tells you how to drive to be more efficient I don't know correct me if I'm wrong
This is why I wish when I had my G20 which that car is based off I wish and also need some for me that I would have been able to swap the engine for the 1.8 because the 2.0 used more gas when it was calculated I looked it up it was the more expensive engine more powerful engine
Love my 06 1.8. So far it has 219k and still running like a charm. Replacing the starter but other than that it’s hauled ass! Hopefully I can keep it until my son learns to drive
I have a 2005 same exact model and only 38000 miles. if you don't drive them, they go bad but easy to work on and good on gas. mine sat for over 10 years without driving. as a result the entire AC system had to be replaced which I did myself. and then only drive few times a year if that.
Any advice on how to get a new color though? I’m thinking getting a $4-500 ish dollar black shiny vinyl wrap and get a friend to help me install it. I’m not trying to spend 5k plus on a professional paint job. Just want a different color that looks decent
It really depends on what color you want. But, i would strongly discourage spending the money to change the color on a car like this. It’s an economy car. It defeats the purpose to put money into it that isn’t necessary.
Have an 03, I Was warned that within these models there's a good chance the head gaskets will crack after 100k. Mine did, my pops friend fixed it cheaply, other than that and the cranksham sensor its still running running pretty good at over 220k.
I had an Infiniti G 20 as a first car and that was the more powerful engine option for the year 2000 for the Sentra my Infiniti had the twopoint o look up the difference between an 2000 Infiniti G 20 and a 2000 Nissan Sentra SE
I had a 1998 Sentra GXE for 19 years, bought new in July '98, auto. transmisson. It never let me down. I didn't put a ton of miles on it, but as you said here, it got great gas mileage, was inexpensive to maintain. I sold it to a friend for $1600 over a year ago, and they are still driving it. I live in the mountains in Colorado, and kept snow tires on it year round, it did great in snow with front wheel drive. I replaced it with a 2015 Honda Civic LX 4 door , manual transmission (my first car was a Honda Civic).
Well so far it's been great, but I have only put about 4500 miles on it in the first year (bought at 2 years old, certified car with only 9,000 miles on it) I would say it is more comfortable - more leg room (I am six feet tall), more comfortable seats. One thing I liked better about the Sentra was it was easier to see out the back window. The Civic is up higher for the back shelf, so I have to kind of raise myself to get a good view rearward. It does come with a backup camera and small screen, but I like to look back there myself). I would say the quality is very good in the Civic. They probably didn’t put them in because it would liable to break if someone was in the middle back seat. It does have a lot less room in that spot than other cars

38 miles per gallon?? I drive my 03 sentra like a grandma 1.8 112k best ive got is 29.3 mpg with a/c off and all and the 1.8 is the way to go anyways the qg18de is just as reliable as the vq30de and dek. Good thing about the 1.8 forged rods from factory but thats all we have going for us in that department. But overall the sentra 1.8 is the best bet for reliability over the 2.5 qr25de prone to head gasket failure also the 1.8 has a good rep for head gasket failure also buuut not as prone.

I love my 2004 Sentra. My only complaint is that the cup holders are too close to the front, where the stereo/HVAC controls are. I guess it made me get a smaller sized drink when I go out, but I wished it was further back to accommodate the bigger cups.
mine is 2005 Sentra with dents around the body. Totally looks like ugly duckling but it runs like a champ. Even more fun to drive than my previous 2015 Civic

A Sentra is fine but get a newer one. $3500-4000 should get you at least an 07 or newer with less than 150,000 miles. Or, buy an older one, and don’t spend the whole budget.
I had an 04 that was amazingly reliable, gave it to a coworker with 200k on it, he’s still driving it. I replaced it with a low mileage original 2005 Sentra, Both Sentras have been the best cars I’ve ever owned.
2004 Sentra 220,665 and still running like a champ ❤

A Sentra is fine but get a newer one. $3500-4000 should get you at least an 07 or newer with less than 150,000 miles. Or, buy an older one, and don’t spend the whole budget.
Kyle's cars thanks man I'll keep a look out to see if I can get a good price
I got y Sentra 2005 1.8 , 170k miles, good tires, and everything working so good, for 1k haha
music is annoying- thanks Nissan makes good stuff- had a D21 pick up ! the best
Haha sorry about that! I actually am building a hardbody on the channel if you check out my newer videos
I have a nissan sentra 2006 it makes 18mpg in the city!!! Im sad about it
Same. My 06 is slightly better at 23 mpg but I have to drive like a grandma
Carlos Ovalle what motor do u have
Scotty Kilmer on youtube says that Nissan stopped making good cars after 2001 b/c of Renault...not sure all the details.
Just bought a 2000 manual 2.0 for 500 dollars 😁
I just brought a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8s for $400 flat rate
@@doethepoet6128 hello man. How many km or milles should last this car
how is the car going?
@@girlonlaptop still going !
Just got an 05 for $700
I'm looking into one for $4400 because it has 82,000 miles which I don't believe because it's a 2006
$4400 is too high anyways
I'm trying to buy my first car and I don't know much about cars, thanks!
So the car's maximum mileage it can have is 170,000?
Mileage isn’t super important, condition is.
no he said that was that halfway point of what you can expect. mine has 314,000 and still going strong 2006 1.8 special addition
@@ctuley1 how is the trans shifting
Just got a 2005 1.8 with 147k for 600
I bought a 2002 manual for $1,000
38mpg or 38 kilometers per gallon
38 km would only be 24 miles.
My nissan sentra 2006 makes 15mpg :(
if you're only getting 15mpg either something is wrong with your car or something is wrong with the way you drive.
@@kyle-kelliher i live in an small city with short streets. I have to stop and go frecuently. I guess is because of that.
Just bought one for 1100$ with 75k original miles
I had an 04 that was amazingly reliable, gave it to a coworker with 200k on it, he’s still driving it. I replaced it with a low mileage original 2005 Sentra,
Both Sentras have been the best cars I’ve ever owned.
I got my 04 for 900 with 200k miles
Is that good? I don't know much about cars
Samantha Solorzano Not too bad if the car is in Decent condition. If you want to buy a car go for a Toyota or Honda for reliability
You just got it and you're already selling it. Why?
Simple, you buy low and sell high.
Got ya. I didn't know you were a dealer
I found a 2004 Nissan sentra 2.5s with 52,000 miles on it for 4 grand. Do you think it's a good price?
No. The 2.5 is known for head gasket issues. Pay 3,000 or less.
Ok. Thanks, Kyle!
Why do you look like Joseph Seed from Far Cry 5
I once led a cult in Montana
@@kyle-kelliher lol
I can drive my 04 sentra with 170k underwater bro
