Scotty, I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla CE 4 speed automatic too since new, now with 210,300 miles and my Family and I paid $7,736.24 in additional non regular repairs after 133,964 miles, during the last 53 months , 4 years 6 months, the equivalent to $145.97 a month during 76,349 miles, none of those repairs are major repairs like engine transmission or a/c, or rack and pinion or cooling system, but living in from of the beach, close to 16 years, 4 pro body shops estimated the repairs can be made 2 offered written warranty, using original Toyota parts , is around $9,500 including replacing the Toyota carpet and roof liner as well as part in the trunk with rust, the Toyota front windshield the power mirrors the front headlights even the hard cover of the instrument panel and the steering wheel, including the front grill, I will ask for the polished XRS version, basically, this Corolla could be restored. The trusted mechanics want to buy it because of what you show in this video, I have it since new and do the simple maintenance you mentioned by myself, is super reliable, days ago I filled the tank and measured 33.17 miles per gallon, the left axle was replaced for the 1st time 2 days ago, with the original Toyota left axle. ... but I could still hear my Father Rest in Peace Opinion, saying is not worth to pay $9,500 for a pro repair to a 16 years old car....But this is a Corolla that can run forever, and I will miss the simplicity of this trouble free 4 speed auto, no CVT, tha5 just required a part of a few dollars for its shift lever at 198,000 miles, I want to repair it, always uses synthetic oil, always original ATF T IV Toyota fluid, replaced by myself every 15,000 to 26,000 miles , Blackstone Labs has tested oil samples many times last time at 203,000 miles and found it excellent and I am following your advice of changing the oil every 3,000 to 3,400 miles with synthetic because is cheaper than repairs to a head gasket or a rebuild, but my Father will say, is still and old car, that everybody wants to buy it..... your video suggests your response, to keep it, I understand paying less for body repairs is a mistake, body shop work is more expensive thanks Scotty

i have an 08 with 257k miles - 43k more till the dreaded forever 299,999 miles - don't even know if there is a way to reprogram to make it go past that.
I have that engine in wife's Matrix. Best car we ever owned. Never a GM car again! Well, except one GM now defunct Saturn automobile made in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
@@Kureni that's weird, why would they stop it there. Get a cheap ob2 bluetooth adapter and connect to your phone, maybe your pcm has the mileage value and you can view it there?

I have a gold 2004 i picked up with 49k miles 2 years ago. Just passed 80k this month. Best car ive ever had.

Yeah this car is obviously lightly driven and pampered. The Chevy Colorado he slammed the other day with nearly 200k miles looked just as pampered as this. I like when people take care of their vehicles.

No way! The previous owner thought the camry was like his bmw or mb. He afraid to put miles on it because the car might break. Lol. Good deal! Awesome man.

My dad used to have the 2004 Corolla I when I was very young. One thing I remember was that shifting gears was butter smooth, almost effortless, or at least that's what my dad made it look like. No issues, ran like clockwork for the entire time my dad owned it. It's a shame he didn't keep it, but he bought another Toyota.

It doesn't break down, great gas mileage, great AC and heater, comfortable and cheap insurance. I'd be excited to buy that too.
I have an 07 Accord with 212,000 miles - runs absolutely perfect. My father has an MDX with 385,000 miles - no problems whatsoever. The Japanese make the best!
Generally most of japanese cars are very reliable,,i have a 08 outlander 112k miles still runs like new..5 years of ownership now..
Dont downshift the trans lmao unless it’s a manual Honda or acura
06 impala 219k miles and runs perfect. American can last just as long

These Japanese cars are amazing. My dad has a 96 Civic and maybe has close to 300k miles and he barely takes care of the car. Still to this day runs great.
My 2004 Toyota Avalon has 210,000 miles and it runs like new
We have a 2004 Toyota Sienna, and somehow it had an oil leak, and ran dry, and after adding oil, it still runs like a top.

@@janreldelacruz1674 The recomended coolant for toyota is the red or pink that says for toyota/lexus/scion vehicles. You can use Peak, Prestone or Beck and Arnley. Great quality antifreeze.

That's like a doctor telling you that you don't need necessary heart surgery because your heart is guaranteed to work for the rest of your life

My daughter bought a 2014 Matrix, (Canadian), and LOVES it. She drives over some mountain passes and wishes she had a bit more power, but over all, just loves that thing. She named if Furio after a Sopranos character.
I have 2007 corolla with manual transmission. Those things super reliable. Couple winters ago we had -30F in Chicago. It started right up. I needed to go to Minneapolis and did 800 miles round trip in -30F. I wouldn't hesitate to take my corolla to Alaska and back. In 6 years owning it I changed starter, alternator, brakes and did oil changes every 3k miles. 240k miles and runs like new!

I got my 20 year old Camry for 1500 bucks a year and a half ago after watching your videos praising Toyota, and other than replacing the door handles and a hood that doesn't latch after the previous owner had a fender bender, it works wonderfully. It's got over 250,000 miles and they just keep trucking.
Last week the best car ever made was the 2003 Corolla. This week it’s the 2007 😂

Hey my 1997 Toyota Corolla has 230,000 miles on it and it still runs like a charm! All original OEM parts on it. Did normal maintenance on it. Starter is finally going out on it and had to replace the original alternator.
I just bought a 2009 corolla with the 1.8L and a 5 Speed manual. Loving it so far!

My 2007 Corolla CE's odometer stopped at 299999 miles. Now it has about 327729 miles. It's very easy to work on and still runs great. I love my Corolla. Thanks for sharing, Scotty! Love your videos.

I have a 2008 Corolla S. It 182,000 miles and runs perfectly. Amazing car.
Toyotas are great cars. I just don't enjoy driving them like I do the European cars. Of course Toyotas win in the reliability category hands down. I hate the compromises in the automotive world.
i feel the same way. I love the way FIATs look, love Toyota reliability, love Lexus interiors, love Honda performance. Sometimes I find myself wishing on a star for either FIAT to make relaible vehicles or for Toyota to make more variety in body styling... You can never truly win :(

Corollas were never built in Kentucky. This 2007 Corolla was made in Fremont, California or it was made in Cambridge, Ontario.
NUMI in fremont would be my guess. there was a chebby branded version that came out of there too, and scotty even did a video on that as a value car.

Awesome video Scotty, I just purchased a 2011 Toyota Corolla LE, it has the 1.8 engine and only 72K miles. The Corolla only had one owner and was in excellent condition inside and out.

I feel sorry for you. 2003-2004 corolla 5 speed is known to have the differential fail. It’s very well documented on the internet.
So many young people want the Corolla. Sometimes, it's easier to get a good deal on a Camry instead.
a camry is a "luxury" corolla.....bigger engine, more room, more stylish, n better ride....imo.....

Thanks Scotty. These 9th series Corollas are the best imo. Bought a 2006 LE 3 months ago for $2500 that had 366K miles. Looks just like the one in the video -pristine. The only issue with these is the intake manifold needs to be changed out with the orange silicone one which the prior owner already did. Oh, plus the stuck Odo at 299999. But I just use the Trip Odos. A for the 5K oil change and Trip B for fuel fill up to gauge gas mileage. It gets 30mpg on 87. Yeah, a big money saver! My 3rd Corolla. I get to keep them until something hits them -car, deer, etc. I always buy them used. VVT-I is a no-brainer which are known to go 800K miles or more before a rebuild. Also supposedly by law the Japanese have to replace their engines every so many years so there are a ton of used 1.8L Toyota engines on the market dirt cheap. The 9th series is my favorite due to its highway-speed handling.

I bought a 2003 Corolla wagon a year ago. 230k on the dash. No rust. Looks and sounds like it’s new. Only problem i have had in the last year is the drivers windows cable that snapped, so i can’t open the window. It’s amazing how well it has been engineered and built.

I just bought an 97' accord a week ago! Runs and drives great, even with 188k miles. These hondas are very well made.

Stock hid lasts forever. He is talking about aftermarket hid kit. One of my aftermarket hid jist went out. Lol. Need to be replaced asap.
I’m sure it’s reliable, but bland as dry toast. Newer ones are a bit more exciting.
I repaired a two inch crack in the plastic top tank of my 1997 Tacoma radiator, with JB Weld plastic bonder, part number 50139. It's still holding up after two years. Plastic radiators are made from nylon (thermoplastic) because nylon can handle the range of hot and cold temperatures. This product is the right stuff to use.

It should be against the law to drive a beater civic or corolla! Drives like a tank. Road noise, cabin noise, squeaky and rattling noise, shaky, shitty audio system, slower than grandma walking. U have no reason to drive these cars unless you cant afford a camry or accord.

I have this one. 15 yrs old and third owner. Yet very reliable, parts are everywhere, and only minor repairs
2007 Corolla LE with 190K miles and we just love ours. We bought our car from 2nd owner and it had 89K when we bought it. I got a Pontiac Vibe with the same powertrain years ago, because I could not find a Toyota Matrix, but since the Vibe is made with Matrix parts, I found my 2005 model with 142k and knowing how well the 1.8L engines were, I was very lucky to find it for the price years ago. It now has 175K on it and gets 36mpg. Our 2007 Corolla gets up to 41mpg when I drive it. Welcome to Tenn. we live in Lewisburg Tn. and have been subscribers for many years. Thanks for all your years of helping others and GOD bless you and your family.

I have a 2013 Corolla S with the manual transmission. I absolutely love it, my goal is to hit 300k miles, I’m half way there. Best daily driver car ever made in my opinion.
My little Yaris 1.4 diesel, is also near unburstable. Incredible little car.

2003-2008 Toyota Corolla was the best Corollas ever made. Timing Chain with that bulletproof 1.8 engine!

It's reaonably reliable it's the AWD Touring edition with all leather seats front and back heated seats pretty well taken care of with almost 160,000 miles on the odometer
Only paid 2,800 bucks for it and have had it for years only replacing an alternator and a few turn signal bulbs
No check engine lights and really smooth ride going down the road

The 1zzfe and Asin transmission in the 05-08 Corolla and Matrix are solid. It's the best year as Scotty said. I have two 06 Corolla's and two 06 Matrix and aside from one with a small oil leak they all run well, all over 250k and still running.
