Thanks so much! Yes, being a zoo educator was my absolute passion and there isn't a day goes by that I don't think about it, wishing somehow I could get back to it (curses to my mortal body!). That being said, I do LOVE creating videos and educational content for all of you, especially I get to feature the animals I love too. One of my ideas actually for a future mini-series is to do endangered species "paint with me" tutorials here on RUclips!

Congratulations on 2500 subs! My favourite perk is the real-time tutorials since my favourite part of the reviews you've done are the parts where you demonstrate them in practice. As an aside, I really like how you go into the pigment information alongside your reviews and other series-I think it's something special and extra that the vast majority of other watercolour/art review channels don't have and I really appreciate the effort the time and effort that goes into it! :)

You can put lightweight foam sheets and cut them to fit the bottoms of the water pans to cut down on the noise the pallete makes and to help keep it from sliding on slick surfaces. The clip can be stored on the top of the container with a self-adhesive Velcro dot. You can use a paper towel, over the paint, to cut down on the half-pan noise or put a little double-face tape in the bottom of each well before putting the half-trays back in. If you prefer using bigger brushes you can cut off the ends of a couple of short brushes, sand the cut end with a sandpaper block, and use gloss gesso to cover the raw wood. I hope these tips help any who have the set or are thinking of buying the set.

Yay! So glad more people are discovering your awesome channel! I love your patreon perks, especially full tutorials. I know you have the q&a on one of the levels too but another idea if you ever decide to add to or expand to more levels is a interactive class or paint along series. One of my favorite channels did this and I loved it, and so did a lot of others. If not for patreon maybe that could be a RUclips series idea ;) congrats on 2,500... won't be long till you hit a much bigger number I'm sure!

My favourite perk would have to be the live tutorials! As someone who is just starting out in watercolor I love watching tutorials and seeing how someone applies a color, mixes or creates a few strokes into something amazing. It's also really great to be able to follow along with tutorials, and with becoming a Patron it is much cheaper than taking art classes in university or else where. Thank you so much for your work and now I'm considering becoming a Patron as I really want to learn!!!

The real time tutorials are really helpful. I always like to hear the artist talk through their choices. Really sped up speed paints are somehow a lot less satisfying.

Congrats for surpassing 2500 subscribers! I think people feel differently about having water spilled on them--where I live, it is hot much of the year and I don't mind having water spilled on me, so that wouldn't be a drawback. I checked out your Patreon channel, and my favorite perk is the $1 level, because it gives access without a lot of agonizing over whether one utilized one's subscription "enough" every month.

Denise I really enjoyed reading your personal story. I totally relate with you concerning your dealing with a chronic health condition and having to give up something that you are passionate about! I have been living with a chronic condition for over 20 years. I'm a RN and was very passionate about nursing since I was 8 years old. Sadly I had to give up my career also. I've just recently found a great love for watercolor myself. I've learned so much from your videos and would love to be able to watch you paint in real time! I think having access to real time videos would be a great perk for Patreon. Unfortunately for myself I don't think I can give as much as I would need to access them, since I live on a very limited income. But I feel your videos will be worth it for sure! Hullo Denise! I have no desire to paint outside anymore! I do get asked about travel palettes quite a bit and I do recommend your Wildlife palette even your Earth Friendly palette from DaVinci! I was asked about DS and you know how I feel about that corporation! But those who want to fill their own favorite paints this looks like a wonderful palette to use! I know this is an older video but it does hold up well! I know that this company is flourishing and they have new pans and other assorted extras to make this palette more attractive to more people!

Just stumbled across your channel today and wandered here after watching your recent watercolor brush review. :) I would have to say my favorite perk is the quarterly prints. I feel like your rewards are very reasonable both for you and your patrons (I feel like there are a handful of artists who give -too- much and don't really have a good balance, which kind of defeats the purpose of the site). I think the monthly Q&A idea is good too.

I would prefer the real time paintings. I'm fairly new at watercoloring and I enjoy painting along as I watch. I always pick up new tips and skills from the videos. The travel palette looks great and would be useful when I'm traveling!

I purchased mine during the original campaign. I like it well enough. I don't like that the pans fall out. It's a real dey breaker. I use a small double stick square to hold the in. I want to be able to remove a single one to replace with a refill.
I put two Velcro dots on the clasp and attach it to one side on the cup..works great..

Hey great review. i often adapt or mod my kit to my needs. i thought if you didnt like the wells on one side just very cairfully use a small scalpul to take out the deviding walls, turn the side with 10 in to 5 longer wells. Allso if you have issues with beading unclip the hinge of the mixing wells and spray a clear or white enamal paint in to the wells, that should cure the problem. just make sure to mask off the hinge area to make sure it will fit back together perfectly afterwards

The Portable Painter looks really neat, but I wonder how self-conscious it'd make me feel to set that up in a coffeeshop. It's "swiss-army-knife"-ness appeals to me, but I think I'd prefer to use it in the nature wilds than the urban wilds XD
Eve Bolt - Bolt's Vault I can totally agree with you there. I can see myself at one of the outdoor tables just fine, but indoors it might be a little awkward. I do take it over to my boyfriend and work at just a regular table while he's doing other things and it's fine in that situation as well. Can't wait to take out out in nature!

The perk from your Patreon that interests me the most is the exclusive tutorials though it would be nice if you offered a preview to one to give an idea what they maybe like. At $10 a month it's not much more then paying $12 a month for skill share that gives you access to a ton of tutorials. Do you get access to all the tutorials you made or just one a month?

The monthly pledges include every perk on lower tiers as well helps support this channel specifically, helping my to be able to provide free content here on RUclips as well as the specific Patreon perks. maybe glue a small magnet to the top of the lid. then you wont lose the metal clip?
Kelly Lester newer version had rubber band that it can clip to as well as hold an extra brush.
a few strips of velcro might help
Okay, so, toothpaste on plastic palettes - does it work for you? I know this Portable Painter review is a couple years old by now, but I have to ask if you're still having issues with beading or if he may have modified it to prevent it. I just bought one and haven't filled it up yet, because I might have to use the toothpaste trick on it. That is, unless you can recommend a better option! Thanks so much, you're great. =)
