My town had a small drag strip and a dirt track, but was sold and developed into an industrial park 10 years ago. Even today 1/4 of the land is still vacant, 1/2 of the building are not occupied or less than 1/2 occupied. I guess the owners would rather have cashed in and the city gets more property tax. But it’s not as fun as watching the drag races.
That's awesome! I live in a little Alabama town and for 20 years I went to the local pull we had every year. A few years back the tree huggers got it shut down. What a shame I met some fine folks over the years and that pull raised alot of money for the high school. Sure miss it

@@bkrgls I live in Cullman county. The pull I was talkin about was in Tanner. We have a dirt track in Moulton that's really great. I raced quads there years ago. It's a great place to take the family for some exciting racing. Have a good one. Stay safe and God bless
Fascinating that this truck behaves the OPPOSITE of all the other trucks ... heavy exhaust smoke at first rev and clears away to almost no exhaust smoke as it revs up and goes thru the pull!
At the beginning I'm full brakes and full throttle to try and build rpm and spool the turbo while against the torque converter. That lets me launch higher in my power band. Then pretty quick after that my turbo is fully spooled shifting the excess from fuel to air and the smoke clears up.

On a nice hot day even better the ground is hot tires can stick. Im just sayin to me the fight is gone. The real bragging rights not the same if its not mud sorry
Something to be said for the damming effect loose substrate has against the sled. However, it is like golf. Nobody competes directly versus each other - they compete directly against the course. tl:dr - mighty impressive give'r
Does that thing ever "power hop" like a 4x4 tractor can under high tractive effort? I'm assuming the tires are just too rigid to allow that, but I would assume it could be induced by poorly selected tire pressures. That is one beautiful sound!
I have yet to have it do that. So far I've only ran at full street 60psi. In 4wd I have a very hard time ever spinning a tire so it takes that part out
Don't know why a Detroit diesel engine sounds so good and let's be honest those Michelin tires have good grip on pavement. The sled driver was just along for the ride. If it was on dirt he be digging to China

Im not sure about you, but if I had to drag something across the ground, I sure wouldn't choose pavement. He physically didnt have a big enough sled to stop me thsts why the 400+ pull

What do we learn? Black smoke is unused fuel. It's a sign of waste, not of power. Rollin coal bois, write that down!
