I’m a 54 year old man, and I was fortunate enough to experience this still being a practice and being done, in a few of our old, “ mom & pop” pharmacies; where the pharmacist owned his own pharmacy, knew everyone that came in by first name, etc. Now, those days are mostly gone, along with the wonderful nostalgia that went with them; the true “Penny candy”, etc. I sure do miss those days! There used to be a candy bar my mom would buy me once in a blue moon, called, Marathon Bar; it was an actual 12” long flat braid looking chocolate coated caramel candy bar, for only 25 cents! I researched them the other day, and they got renamed, “Curly Wurly”by Cadbury candy company. They are also very small now, compared to the foot long, one inch wide bars in the 70’s!
I would treat myself to that but I think it's the same as rootbeer, cream soda, or Vanilla Coke. A rootbeer float is practically a dessert like a milkshake.
I mean it's icecream inside a soft drink, lol. You can do whatever you want with it but at the end of the day it's just a combination of ice cream and some soft drink. I prefer it separate but some ppl like the mix because it's nostalgic or something

To everyone at home, go to a store, buy a few bottles of Mexican coke, then go to the freezer section and buy a pint of Vanilla bean icecream. Then go home and pour the coke into a glass and dump a few dollops of the icecream on top, boom you got the exact same thing lol, you can even do it fancy adding rum or heavy cream and chocolate syrup.

Does the coke from this shop taste the same like the bottled ones?
Bring back soda fountains
I don’t even know the flavor n my mouth is watering
Does it have the same kind of fizz or does it just hit like a cool add (im asking about the old school coke not the float)
so other than the ice cream, he’s serving soda the exact same way dispensers do nowadays. he’s just doing it manually
