In Reading (UK), in the 90's, there was a small fleet of old, original Routemasters, still in service. I was lucky enough to work as a clippy on them, twice. When I started the job, I was told I'd fall in love with the old things, I, being a metropolitan sort of a chap, naturally poo pooed the notion. Three weeks later I had my favourite in the fleet (approx 10 vehicles I believe, though I could be wrong). She was called Bessie, and she was a staunch and reliable old workhorse!
Do you know a pub somewhere in the area of Bank or Monument? It is furnished with old confession booths and a goth/spooky decoration. I was there more than 20 years ago but I can't remember the name or the location and it drives me up the wall. I can remember hidden doors and that it was a spot where bankers hang out after work, but that's it.
OK seriously last time I was in London was the very first weekend it had opened up since Covid so people were crazy and I was leaving that weekend so we didn’t know where to go. In Virgina, there's this restaurant by the beach that has a double-decker bus that looks like that bus.
