I was 12 in 1969 and I remember it as one of the greatest summers of my young life. I built a tree house and I built a raft to ride up and down the local creek. What great memories I have. If I could go back, that is the year I would go back to.
Sounds like a nice time to live in. Wish life was that simple for our generation.
Sounds awesome!

53 years ago my wife, Diane and I had a heated romance during the Summer of 69 which ended in with us being married in October. We celebrate our anniversary every year in the mountains. We just celebrated our 53rd anniversary and we thank Bryan Adams for this song. It is truly "Our Song"
excellent - congrats
My first time. That year
Congratulations
lol this song isn't about the year 1969. Bryan Adams was 10 in the summer of 1969. He has said it is about the sexual act 69. So when you tell people this is you and your wife's song and they give you a strange look, now you know why.
@Dev Guy 🤣
*A message to the future generations. Don't let this song die*
We won't
90's songs backward will never be forgotten.they have that thing that it will last forever.unlike the song after 1990's,tend to be out fast.

Why would a song about reminiscing of the summer of '69, be written IN '69?
@@ritwikmukherjee6455 you're right 👍
All those who listen to Bryan Adam's I believe they are all soft gentle souls.. Wish you all the best in life.. ❤
When I was 10, I bought this cassette single and played it in my walkman line by line, writing all the words down so I could learn them! I played this on repeat. It's almost 2024, and this will always be a timeless classic!

@@GoetheNorris At 10, that didn't cross my mind. After considering that possibility, I disagree. The likelihood of someone reminiscing about the best days of their life in the summer of 1969 seems a lot greater than the likelihood of a couple of teens going straight to graduate-level kama sutra activities.
Back when 69 was just a number
Bryan Adams was too young to remember the summer in 1969.
He’s talking about the summer where he did a no no act.
He was 10 years old in 1969, so it was probably more than just a number

This Song Brings Back Momeries That Don’t Exist
Exactly my feeling when I hear these songs!! I was born after this, and I feel like I miss the old days, although I never lived them!
@@anaribau9877 it's crazy how that happens.
Talking of memories that don't exist,I'm watching this again a couple of hours after waking up from having had a dream about staying in a hotel we'd stayed in once before some years previously, and both times all kinds of things went wrong, causing much embarrassment. In reality I've never stayed in that hotel, which is supposedly situated in a town that I've never been to (and it seemed a bit grand compared to that town's reputation). So I had deja vu that didn't exist in a dream?
@@rjjcms1 Brother there are so many things that cant be explained. But I understand exactly what you mean you are not alone of having weird dreams like that and especially the dejavu... just enjoy the music and youtube as our only timemachine back to where the times where simpler and so much fun
Nostalgia for a time you didn’t live through.

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five and dime
Played it 'til my fingers bled
Was the summer of '69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I should've known we'd never get far
Oh, when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life
Ain't no use in complainin'
When you got a job to do
I spent my evenings down at the drive-in
And that's when I met you, yeah!
Standin' on your mama's porch
You told me that you'd wait forever
Oh, and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah
Back in the summer of '69, oh
Man, we were killin' time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothing can last forever
Forever, no
Yeah
And now the times are changin'
Look at everything that's come and gone
Sometimes when I play that old six-string
I think about you, wonder what went wrong
Standin' on your mama's porch
You told me that it'd last forever
Oh, and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah
Back in the summer of '69, uh-huh
It was the summer of '69, oh, yeah
Me and my baby in '69, oh, oh
It was the summer, summer, summer of '69

@khanzeermuslam I think of it kind of like this: an atheist and a person who believes in God are talking. The person who believes in God says, "If God doesn't exist, and I die and experience nothing, I have lost nothing. But if God does exist, and I die, I also lose nothing. For you, if God doesn't exist, when you die, you lose nothing. But if God does exist, when you die, how will you feel realizing you have believed the wrong thing your whole life?"
(On a quick side note - I don't think God cares whether we're atheists or not, just as long as we're good people.)
I bring this up because, if the climate is not changing, and we switch over to solar, wind, etc, we will have lost nothing. (In fact, we help ourselves because - forget the climate for a second - if we switch to alternative sources, we'll have cleaner air, so less cases of asthma and other respiratory illnesses.) If the climate is changing, and we switch over to solar, wind, etc, we will help protect the planet. But imagine, if the climate is changing and we don't change our habits... we're dead.
Sadayan Ebramsah Ismail Ghani chilax well be fine

To meet someone you would have to speak in person at the beach or a party, being too young for clubs and bars, that was 21 where I come from. No mobile phones, no apps, no internet, no emails. Speak in person, use a landline or write a letter, those were the options. Photos were on film and they would take a week or two to be developed, no selfies, not in those days. In the last 30 years, i've heard this song on 4 continents. It makes me happy to have a nostalgic experience and new experience at the same time. Once, I was in a hot, sweaty Venezuelan nightclub when I was 26. This song came on, and me, girl next to me who didnt speak english, and the entire place got a big smile and cheered. I wonder if Bryan Adams has any idea how much this song brings people together.
For me, this song will remind me of 4 memories and places at once.
Bryan in 2024❤
Bryan Adams, the best alive poprock singer in the world. Does anyone agree? Lithuania:)
