Sounds like an official laird title.
I want retro future foot pics
I knew a boy that his dad worked for Toyota, and they vacationed in Japan. He lost his normal Gameboy (his mother accidently threw it away) so his dads friend reached into a closet and grabbed a GB similar to that so J. would shut up and some Toyota branded batteries with some Mario and Zelda game. It didn't have a back when he got it new. I'm not gonna lie I was jealous of J. and I'm Jealous again.
always nice to be reminded of those childhood injustices 🥲 hope you find one someday
So that would probably imply that these were given out to employees maybe
@@nugzmedallion8929 They were given if you bought a Toyota car in the 90's, I think.
@ShortMiao Right, but they were probably also given to toyota employees above a certain position, more than likely
They probably just had the factory mold up the rest of the clear plastic that was left over and undied.. the big bosses were like "well , something will come along and u just wait.. they'll be great promotional items!!!"
Imagine going into Toyota to buy a brand new Supra or MR2 and they give you a free Gameboy with your new car. That would be incredibly cool to experience.
My dad's soarer (sc300) that he imported the owner sent everything he had with the car including a game boy
@@mackenziemcintyre1378 thats incredible. Wow
@@retrorewind6042 mhm
WEven though this system is absolutely priceless, the fact that all these shipping companies got on the same page is the big win here. That is awesome. Props to all the parties involved.
"Would of been very annoyed"
This hurts my soul on so many levels xD
So british it hurts hahaha
@@teh_blazerer no Americans do that a lot too
Hard to imagine how the battery cover went missing considering how pristine it is
Perhaps they took it out, found out it doesn’t have batteries and just boxed it and never tried again
@@olip4628 Perhaps, as I strongly suspect, it's a well repackaged fake.
@@HouseOfFunQM What makes you think that it's a fake?
@@HouseOfFunQM why would you leave out the battery cover if you made a fake?
I imagine that it wasn't this one that originally got lost. But instead it was used as a replacement for a far more heavily used pocket!
It's impressive what lengths people went through to get the Address corrected, and your package to you. They deserve an award!
Oh god… would *have. Please 😫

What?
"Didn't know what it was"
"GameBoy Pocket BIN £500"
Err
There's plenty of tutorials for removing yellowing of plastics, so if you find a cover that doesn't quite match the pristine Gameboy, you can try that to take the yellow oxidation of.
That’s such a cool Gameboy! Very jealous. I’m glad it arrived safely in the end. Also, maybe for some reason they didn’t ship with battery covers?
You mentioned this gameboy and the trouble with the delivery in another video and I’ve been looking forward to this, really happy for you that it’s in great condition and that it arrived safely! Very cool!
Always look forward to your insights and displays of nintendo gear. A truly intriguing showing of Nintendo history and products.
"would've"
What an absolute steal. That thing is immaculate!
"would have"
I always enjoy seeing all these Gameboys and other hand helds and accessories you get from Sendico.
The Toyota Pokémon Blue is a similar game, but there's a Mew is behind a Toyota truck instead of an unbranded one.
That is absolutely insane! The quality is like it came out of the factory. Great deal and great video.
you should consider getting the kind of sticker wraps that are UV resistant! i know they have UV protective films for cars and im sure you could use them for the acrylic boxes you have!
Love how all game collectors are in it for the games - then mention value and their investment asap
That's part of the bragging rights.

As soon as you said Parcelforce, a shiver coursed down my spine. At least it wasn't Hermes/Evri, I guess?
Can't wait for his handheld museum in a few years! Would pay to go see that!
the people at sendico are absolute bros
Congrats on that Gameboy! You repair so many of them, so you earned it.
jeez, you need to get some microfiber gloves for when you get these super rare gameboys, that is clean. The thing i noticed immediately is it has almost no yellowing. I have a standard clear pocket that i got in one of those small nylon "nintendo" cases and it is my cleanest pocket, someone put it in the case and barely used it. No yellowing, no wear.
I've never heard of Jersey the island till now. Don't know why im 31. BUT I HAVENT! But is NEW JERSEY named that cause it's the "newer" version of that island? Wtf. Mind BLOWN!
They’d have sent your package back and paid full price as you’re a good customer, what a fantastic gem of a find
Surprised for the condition it's in the battery cover was missing, looked almost new in box aside from that.
It's always a treat, but mind-boggling how you keep finding these rare items! Are there any specific key words you look for that help out, or is it just hours of scrolling through Sendico's listings?
He probably spends days scrolling through pages and pages of sendico listings
As he is affiliated with them, I think Sendico sets aside any "rare" or "pristine" nintendo items and tells him personally.
@@PHUSII sendico doesnt sell those items..... all sendico does is translate japanese sites make those orders and then consolidate the packages before sending them over.
“Your super rare and one of a kind item shipped to the wrong location”
*INTERNALIZED SCREAMING AND ANGUISH*
Been binging your content at work these last couple weeks. Thank you sir. 😊
Wow, what a story and an odd edition Game Boy Pocket! I loved hearing about both though! Really glad you ended up getting it shipped to your correct house address! I have to agree with you Elliot, that does look in immaculate condition! I know you'll enjoy it!!!
Now all you have to do is:
1. Sell your extra Toyota Nintendo Gameboy
2. Buy a Nintendo Toyota car
Well that was an emotional roller-coaster! Watching Elliot get giddy is how I'd like to spend my Friday evenings
Your story of that postal debacle has given me hope in the future of humanity.
A super rare, near mint gameboy playing trip world? you love to see it
I will never forget that this video was called "Nintendo would of been very annoyed" before you corrected it.
"I'm originally from Jersey" 1:55 As someone from New Jersey this is the first time I've actually heard that used literally lol
Man it’s such a tragedy that the battery cover is missing. The original owner took such good care of it and was probably torn up about losing it.
very cool :). i dont remember where it was but i read somewhere that there was around 4000 of them actually, but who knows really. anyways, as someone very interested in japanese cars also, this one was a must for me when i begun to screw around with gameboys abit more. got one at yahoo auctions few years back, its not boxed, ever so slightly yellowed, but othervise complete and in pretty nice shape. deffo one of my most, if not the most favorite gameboy i have :D.
thats gorgeous. gives me the feeling of when i opened my gbc back in the day for the first time. and then later my gba.
Nice to see a younger person into retro
Awesome idea with listing all curency converted price tags. Helps a lot to get an idea what you spent for this amazing treat. At least YOU got it and not some darn scalper.
Not too interesting? Near perfect condition after almost 25 years and you think this is not interesting? It's a preserved piece of gaming history, it literally belongs in a museum, at this point is undeniably a one of a kind.
Such a NERD!
But that’s why we love you man ❤
Congratulations on managing to get that sorted out and sent to your correct address,
I can imagine it being a right pain in the arse if it had been sent all the way back to the sender 🤯
You’re one lucky gameboy fan 🍀
Everything I know about dealing with Japanese companies would have made me immediately give up
would of
Thank you for the shoe advert, off brand, Mid-Life Crisis, 40 yo Harry Potter
I love the shade if blue they chose for the box
Assuming the lowest estimated number of units produced, 100, is the actual number of units produced, that means Elliot here own 2% of all Toyota Game Boy Pockets.
I would have dismantled it for parts and use the box to lit my fireplace.
I'm obviously joking, this is a true piece of history and I'm so glad it came into your hands, I know you'll take great care for it and I'm happy it will get the preservation status it deserves.
I still got all my handhelds, including my first: a gameboy pocket. While it's been used so much, the silver lack is coming off, even when I was little, I took such good care of it and it still works.
This looks beautiful !! 😍I would love to know more about your process from searching and finding gameboys/watches on sendico + info on the shipment process; import duties, tax and etc ✌
I would've just cried and accepted it was lost forever
Eliot that is amazing! What a find!
Maybe the boxed version was repaired at some point?? It's odd that it's so pristine, yet the battery cover is missing... Either way, great find!
1:56 For a second, I thought he meant New Jersey, and I was really surprised.
Perhaps you had to buy a higher trim level for the battery cover.
Eugh. Wish I had the disposable income to pick up this kind of stuff. Nice one!
I remember my mate at school had a gameboy original with loads of games in a bag. He left it on a bench in the highstreet when he went into a shop. Of course it got nicked by the time he came out
Really nice. I like it. Oh those headaches with the post offices.
Story; Back in the past we have seen many Pokemon x Toyota events. In the November 1996 Toyota launched a event for the Toyota Hiace DX 5 and the Toyota Hiace Super Custom LTD. When you bought such a car, wich is supposoly a Family-Van you where able to select betwean Pokemon Red, Blue or Green as a free gift together with the car (perfect timing before christmas ofc). If a Toyota retailer had those Gameboys laying arround, im sure you where able to buy one. Most of then GB and Pokets came from "Lottery" in Nintendo x Toyota events in small Gameconventions. But the Relationship betwean Toyota and Nintendo especially Pokemon seems to be a Ongoying event. In the "Pokestore" you can find Toyota Hiace Toycars produced by Tomy in various Pokemon themed designs.
Ha I know the feeling of losing a parcel in the post a few weeks ago I bought a white original gameboy for £45 which is an amazing price but I have been going back and forth with the postage company and they don’t know where my parcel is 😢
Seriously, the shipping companies involved being able to resolve the issue successfully is worth more than the GB itself - at least that is certainly more rare. Congratulation.
I need to see a DMGC from you mate! Think you'll do a proper nice one!
Tinfoil hat theory:
Your older one had no battery cover, but now this seemingly untouched pristine one in the original plastic wrap with the cardboard insert also lacks a battery cover.
Maybe these didn't come with battery covers at all? :^)
Congratulations 👏. Nice unit to collection
I wondered why you were living in Jersey (my Ameri-brain thought New Jersey) 😅
This entire time I have known about New Jersey existing, I never stopped to think about whether there was an old Jersey
This looks brand new, you have an 8 bits star above your head seriously!
"This belongs in a museum".... "So do you!"
Lucky man ! So happy for you that everything is now A OK with this ! It would have been Super Bummer to lose this !
You're blessed that only went on for a month 😮
Appreciate you giving the price in Laotian Kip. Most RUclipsrs wouldn't think of that. 😆
woooow that looks so goood! i felt you in those small phone call scenes, that would have exactly been me xD im collecting old gb-gba games cib but want to add a boxed gameboy soon:)
I wanted to see his socks :-(
I didn't until he said "you don't want to see my socks." Nobody tells me what I want
@12:36 "There is one final thing that I'm going to do." *pulls out a hammer*
Where I live you can forward packages and other things when you move just incase something got sent to your old post box. But I'd probably have a freak out if I almost lost a collectors item I had bought.
You're the best Elliot
Post/Area/Zip code IS the most important thing for shipping, yeah.
Jersey is sort of the UK actually but it’s a dependency rather than under the UK government itself. It’s technically self governing but the UK helps it a lot.
What a beautiful boy!
The gameboy is pretty neat too.
Very beautiful piece of gameboy. I really love gameboys and i wish someday i can have a collection like that lol
Greetings from Brazil! Love your channel
Great to bump into you in town the other day!
Ah you too mate! Best of luck with all of your endeavours!
Gratz and glad it all worked out!
Seems weird that it's basically pristine but doesn't have a battery cover. Other than that, what a lovely little Toyota....I mean GameBoy.
Is the "of" in the title there to annoy us?
no more Golf. JDM boi now :D
bro going broke
The almost exact same thing happened to me last year, when we moved. It was just a regular gameboy pocket, though.
I say: "Why you have something which cannot be used because it needs to be preserved?" 🙄
This is why I only buy things which I can actually use!
7:02 I find myself much like near the end of the movie Se7en.. what’s in the box!?!?
Would it be funny if you made a gameboy advance sp, as huge as possible
@TheRetroFuture430 nice try scammer
If there's one thing Japanese people know it's navigating labrynthine corporate beurocracy.
Vessi going hard with the yt adds
😭 why you doin Trip World dirty like that? Shovelware...
