I have a diesel SH forester as I'm a UK resident. Its not an around town vehicle because as any diesel it loves long journeys which is the best treatment you can give it. I took mine on holiday in 🇬🇧 UK and covered nearly 2000 miles in a week. Best run its probably had.
Hi, have you still got your Forester? I have an SJ with 115,000 miles and DPF issues. Do you know any good people in the Midlands which can help sort it? Cheers
This is a great video, do any of you guys know if anywhere someone has done a good video on how to just clean a sooted up EGR valve? I need to do mine on my 2015 Forester and can’t even find the damn thing!
Great video, thanks! Will any scan tool give you functionality to run a forced regen (or reset oil dilution, or the features seen at 0.38) or is that functionality limited to specific high end scan tools?
@@MotortechVehiclerepairs ! Thank you sir !! As said, have the same car, same year exactly, from just few weeks ago ...it's perfect really, but..ahh that"knocking" somewhere in the motor, omg...makes me nervous, sounds like a "rod knock" (as looking on the net). I could hear some like that sound as I have on your video, makes me thinking if I'm wrong maybe... don't know...stupid, really, otherwise is great car
Great video, thanks for sharing! You saved at least one diesel from broken engine 👍👍👍

To start the regeneration do we need your fancy computer or the car can activate the system herself
Hello, I did a dpf regeneration but it stops at 19%, should I try again but with a dpf cleaner?
Do these not even have water temp gauge these days?

Justin Molik most modern scan tools will have this feature as this is a common service requirement but I can’t speak for every tool.
(owner Subaru 2010 2.0D) so , it means to try runing the engine longer on open road min 30 min around 2500 rpm? right?
pedroincisif yes the car needs to be on a motorway at a constant speed over 80km for a period of approx 45mins for it to carry out a regeneration.

pedroincisif yes but sometimes it takes longer and may require multiple runs, depending on how badly blocked the dpf is.
@@MotortechVehiclerepairs ok yes, understand. And just thumbs up your videos about Subaru. Learned a bit 😁
How often would you say this is necessary?
Hi there, thank you for the video! I have the same questions as @Justin Molik
The dpf
makes diesels pointless
you need to do the regeneration befor or after change the engine oil?
Before.
Quick question, what model Snap-On diagnostic tool are you using?
Michael Kocwin snapon modis!
@@MotortechVehiclerepairs Thanks for that, it might be a bit out of my price range for one Subaru Forester diesel. Cheers.
Where are you guys located and what does a regen like this cost?
Yusef Arwani located in gosford, costs $147

What’s the reliability like on these Subaru Forester Diesel engines?
The DPF is a recurring problem
Also problems with metalic particles
DPF is the biggest problem
Can you remove the DPF?
Yeah but ilegal in aus
@Adam Gray the same in UK, sadly 😕
