'Top Speed Germany' is a German RUclips channel for people who love cars.
My Name is Max and I film while driving cars. No matter if they are old, fast, loud or electric. They need to be special! With several onboard cams, I record everything important to show you High-Speed-Runs, Acceleration tests ( 0-100 kph / 0-200 kph / 100-200 kph / 200-300 kph ) and test drives on German Autobahn or Road. Please note, Germany is the country of "no speed limit" highways. So in some places, it's allowed to drive very fast. But please don't try this if you are not an experienced driver !! If you enjoy give a like and subscribe for more videos ;-) .
Loved my XV diesel. Very comfortable, nippy and awesome in the mountains, great fuel economy, a beast in the snow and awesome off the beaten track. Also got to test the 5 star rating in a head-on crash when a French driver decided he liked the oncoming traffic lane better.... I walked away without a scratch. LOVE Subaru!! My current one is an Outback.
I regret that I've never owned or driven a Subaru with a Boxer Diesel engine. I consider it a crying shame that the Boxer Diesel was discontinued when it was.
Subaru ❤️
Old car is gold, good car! 🔥
Beautiful drive thx for sharing 🏎🏁🚩
why are people bashing this thing, it's literally a 147hp diesel, it's supposed to be slow af. I just think it's sad that gasoline imprezas and crosstreks have 15 less hp than my 2000 legacy
playing to much video games probably lol
Mostly because early ones in 4th Gen late model Legacy had catastrophic manufacturing defects and it tarnishe the reputation of Subaru somemore, even tho they improved it greatly(without giving new designation to the engine stupidly enough) in 2011 onwards and even more so after 2015. You can differentiate the revisions by lower compression ratio. flat out 16:1 in 2011+ models and 15,3:1 in post 2014/15 ones these are all good and reliable. Only ones to be scared of are very early 2007-9 motors in Imprezas an Legacies, they still got tweaked so its not as catastrophic as launch year diesels, but actual revision that made them fully reliable came later.
130 mph isn't slow thats for sure.

I saw the impossible last night at Walmart in Ooltewah Tennessee USA. A 2008 Legacy with a straight piped Boxer Diesel. If the sound wasn’t enough to identify it, then the smell as it passed by me sure was. It was undeniably a Diesel.
Vgh .. imagine the smelle....
I don’t believe Subaru ever sold the diesel models in the us they only sold them in Australia and Europe
not sure why , but i love this videos
I have the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Outdoor version (Canada) with the 2.5 boxer engine. Loving it!
How about top speed?
@@rustamamir1987 I haven't tried the top speed. Using winter tires rated at 195 kmh. But I'm sure it would go to 215 kmh. Maybe 230, but it will drag wind too much.
Our highway are 100 kmh max. Going 215 kmh = suspended license for 1 or 2 years and a few thousound s dollar. Then the insurance will cost more... not worth it. Rather go off road with my crosstrek.
@@OutdoorFun01 wut??100 kph max? here in Europe even in places with speed limits you can do 140 kph without getting in any trouble. 100 seems very low for modern cars, almost b-road level.
@@weedmastersr Haha. But we do have heavy snow... Must think about that too. FYI, we "can" go to 120 kmh, but the cops might be tolerant.
@@OutdoorFun01 Forgot about the snow. Maybe there should be different speed limits for when the road is dry and when it's snowy.
I also have boxer diesel. Subaru Forester 2.0D 2012. No problems at all =)

@@zacharyreynolds4303 Emissions, also after quite severe mess ups early on they tarnished their reputation just like with Naturally aspirated 2.5 EJ motor headgaskets. 2 Stupid mistakes from subaru that tarnishedd their reputation when their other engines and newer ones are incredibly reliable, to pretty much same degree as toyota or honda. That's true for diesel after 2011, and very late models for Euro6 that had lower 15,3:1 compression ratio are incredibly reliable.
@@Kacpa2 yeah no I don't think emissions are the reason it's not in the US.. if it's in the EU especially. you guys are okay with cars having consumption of small tank, but small 2.0 diesel engines are problem? no. probably would not sell as well in the US, because it's not big enough for you.
@@ondramalanik8463 Why the hell are you going at me? I am european. Also emissions fucked over Subaru to a point they dont even sell anything remotely sporty , diesel is also gone.
Their line up reverted back to FB20B and FB25B both only with CVTs because this and port fuel injection helps it barely clear the newer Euro6 subdirectives. They will probably pull out entirely once Euro7 hits unless they have EVs by that time on sale here.
Subaru's last efforts to do something nice in Europe was the diesel and 3.0L Spec B Legacy in mid-late 2000s after that maybe Levorg and Forester XT could count, but ofcourse without a stickshift for whatever reason.
Later diesel revisions until 2017. Meanwhile WRX STi was removed from offer in late 2016 same with BRZ.
@@Kacpa2 You know that they still Sell the new BRZ right?
The problem with Subaru of Europe is not with Subaru, but with Emil Frey, their major importer.
They simply do not want to import the other Models.
In Switzerland you were able to get all kinds of Subarus, the turbos, the 6 Cylinders etc.
You were able to get the 3.6 with the help of Subaru Romania, but nobody wanted them, so they stopped producing.
The new Levorg and Levorg STI are able to pass emissions.
Even the WRX is. I have a 2018 Forester XT and I have the exact same engine as the WRX.
I meet the Euro 6 criteria and its direct injection.
What is holding them back now, are the EU Regulations forcing fines onto a carmaker for every ICE Car that is sold without an Electric car being sold too.
After introducing the Soltera, the New BRZ could be imported again.
But it’s a very sad Story realy
@@Mongolopolis8 I remember H6 Legacy(manual and wagon too), its one of cars i am curious to try for my next car, but as things stand they dont offer anything fun new in Europe anymore.
Toyota does sell their GR86, but subaru only sells Forester, Outback and XV(Crosstreck) all with CVTs only. and it's been that way for years now.
STi of VA generation(2014-2021) was only sold in 2015 and 2016, after which they stopped offering it, same with BRZ.
2017 was last year they offered any form of manual transmission once diesel Outback lost that option that year, and XV went to 2nd generation that didnt have the 6speed that 1st gen had in europe previously and 2nd gen had in US.
Levorg was never sold with a manual either.
Its a barren wasteland when it comes to new subarus. Used ones are only stuff you can get and its in short supply, and usually costly. Plus basic stuff like XV with manual is nothing to write home about, its very far from sporty. Its less boring than say Nissan Quashqai, but not even remotely as fun as BRZ would be.

Subaru Boxer diesel great engine!
Alwys damage. Not buy diesel.
Subaru doesn’t make good Diesels, hence why you don’t see many of them or hear anyone recommend them. If you want a reliable, affordable off-road Diesel, go get an old Isuzu Turbo Diesel with mechanical fuel injection and a manual transmission. Toyota Diesels aren’t too bad, but there aren’t too many of them around in North America anymore. Nissan Diesels were okay, at least until they started using electronic fuel injection and Renault bought the company.
@@zlatangold7385i Have ee20z euro 5 With a newer block and engine, it has 210,000 km with original parts and runs great
@stoneylonesome4062 they don't meet emissions in North America that's why nobody sells em
In the next video I want to see a Lotus Omega, please 👌
Amazing video! I want to buy a 2010 model with 230km and a 2.0 boxer diesel engine. My Mechanic told me that this will be the biggest mistake I will ever do, because this engine has issues that cost a lot to fix. I searched and I saw reviews like 70% of the cars had DPF issues. Are you happy with it?
On diesel boxer engine the camshaft bearings need to be replaced every 100k km. It is a fault from the manufacturer. If you want a Subaru buy a petrol engine one with low mileage. Any boxer engine after 150k km starts to fall apart.
@@adrianzaharia8885 Not true for later models. Only pre 2011 engines are faulty. Everything after 2011 is fixed, they just didnt change the designation of EE20 engine. Most reliable are 2015+ with lowest compression ratio of 15,3:1.
And boxers dontfall apart after 150k, that's just a flat out lie and stop spreading bs like this. 2.0 litre and 3.0 petrol motors and newer FA/FB series 2.0 and 2.5 ones are incredibly reliable. What you probably go at are horrible cheap headgaskets used in old 2.5EJ motors in 2000s, just put in one from turbo/WRX version and you never ever have to worry about that again.
OP try getting something after 2011 like XV in the video or later outbacks. They dont have the issues that plagued early diesels in Legacies. If you are really worried about reliability if history of the car is not sure then go for petrol versions, 1.6/2.0/2.5 motors in newer subarus are rock solid, older ones in 2.0 too. Pre 2011 2.5 motors have faulty headgaskets from factory that dont last too long, but it's possible to permanently remedy by using headgasket from Impreza WRX turbo version of the motor. Then it will never have headgasket issue again.
Headgasket issues never occur on other engines for most part, pretty much the same as other cars of equal age from Toyota or other makes, and just depends on level of care and driving habits of the owners. And any car being abused and not cared for will suffer similar issues.
Mechanics just repeat the horror stories of those early diesels an it stuck around. Later diesel models when kept well seem to get high milage without any bigger problems when cared for.
Watch out for piston bearing inserts...Very common fault in boxer diesel engines.
In French we call this a piston salad
diesel japanese engine is a very common fault in general.

@@volodymyrbondarenko6539 that's what I figured .. I've never seen any ads for them ..WARDONO BASUKI will have to import one if he wants one
@@xadam2dudex GM is practically the only company offering diesels outside of pickup trucks in the US nowadays, except for a few Stellantis models, namely some Jeeps. But even the Germans stopped selling diesels in the US in the wake of dieselgate, which really seems to have hurt the Germans more than anyone here in the US. It seems that the Fiat Chrysler (now Stellantis) diesels had software that messed up emissions as well, but mainly because some suppliers installed certain software without them knowing, and were able to correct the faults without any substantial reengineering or fuel consumption penalty. But German cars have been hit hard, and German Diesels even worse. We'll see how these automakers hold up in the US market over the next several years, but the past several years have been quite hard enough for them already for various reasons. I think that if they can get good electric cars, they will do well enough. I don't know what will happen to them if they don't.

Is Subaru a reliable car and is it a comfort ride ?
Not the diesels one for sure, the gasoline ones will give you good mileage if you take care of it properly despite a required engine overhaul after few hundred thousand km/miles of use. Don't buy the diesel ones. As for the comfort, that depends if you wanna buy the impreza type or forester type, both of them can be suited to be track compatible or daily driveable though.

@@alijan991 no problem! I'll give you one recommendation on buying cars btw. Buy used Honda if you want a certain result.
