    I would absolutely bring my subaru to you guys if you weren't on the opposite side if the world from me. Really hard to find a good subaru mechanic in the UK.

      Quí in Sardegna stesso problema ma fortunatamente abbiamo un ottimo meccanico Subaru nella città di Sassari. Autofficina Cherchi Gavinuccio. La mia XV eee20z vuole andare solo da lui😊

    Check your oil level first if dpf light glows first . If oil dilution , or oil level to high . It won't go into a regeneration .

    I’ve owned a 2010 outback for about 2 and a half years bought at 180000 km. I’m at about 220000 ks now. Had issue arise with the dpf and spoke to some Subaru specialists and in the end I decided just to delete it and get it remapped. I’ve done another 1000 ks since and now problems. If anything I’ve felt that the turbo kicks a bit harder. and better fuel economy

    I bought a 2011 diesel outback about 18 months ago. It was in immaculate condition and I suspect something of a garage queen only being driving very short distances to the train station each day. Consequently we suffered a DPF failure about a month after purchase requiring the DPF being removed and sent off for specialist cleaning. Looking at these videos from MRT makes me wonder if I am sitting on a ticking time bomb.
    i am now driving it with the higher RPMs as discussed in the video. Usually try and keep it in the cruise at around 2300 - 2500 so hopefully I am lessening the likelihood of soot build up. So far so good.

      Keep the dpf in good order (use the occasional cleaner to start a passive regen every 5000kms or so) and you won't need to replace it. I had mine taken off and cleaned properly for $700. It's like new. Mines done 220xxxkms and still going strong. The only thing I've had to replace in its life is the timing chain.

      I have no probems with soot or frequent regenerations and i drive it 1600+ rpms when cruising at low loads. 2000-ish if medium to high load. My forester has had a forced regen 1 year before me buying it, no problems, very good performance, fuel economy and reliability if you take good care of it

    Cut the top half of the dpf off and then using a air hammer get all of the internals out put the top half back on with very good welding and then get the vehicle remapped
    And sorry for when I wrote this I forgot your in oz

      Have you actually done this?
      The cars here, if you do that wont run properly and the re tune to suit requires additional mods to the DPF pressure circuit to trick the ECU.
      We have done this in our rally car, we dont suggest it for a road car

      @bumndrass 3 года назад

      @@MRTPerformanceAustralia I've not seen that particular method carried out before, but I know a lot of people who have had a tune and dpf removed without any issues up here in QLD.

    2014 Subaru Outback diesel. Complete service history at same Subaru dealer and purchased new. About 250K kms. DPF light came on but able to regenerate shortly after. Took it back to dealer anyway and technician thought he heard some other engine noise. Left car for about a week with dealer who had trouble diagnosing issue. Eventually came back to say that injectors may need replacing quoting 10-15 K and could not guarantee problem would be fixed. Obviously unrealistic to carry out repairs. Assessor said it was worth nothing as a trade. I live in the country so generally do longish trips although recently mainly short trips. I was hoping to get more years out of this vehicle. Do I have any options?

    I just bought a legacy 2.0td diesel boxer today. Mine is turning over but not starting I check the fuse 7.5 amp pins are broke off in the fuse box when pull out the fuse. Any ideas how to get pins out? And these engines have a very bad rep in Ireland.. What do U recommend to keep it going sweet. I know the dpf problems but bottom ends goes etc. I'm going to drop sump and clean oil pick up gauze. Any other things in maintaince on these engines..you seem to like these. Lots of these on Ireland with engine failure.

    Ciao, il dpf è una diavoleria che in Europa si ostinano a imporre insieme ai motori a benzina o elettrici. È solo una questione ideologica e molti abboccano. Io uso tunap 183 ogni 6 mesi, faccio percorsi lunghi, la uso poco in cittá. La XV 2016 boxer Diesel è bella ma bisogna saperla usare. Poi ho un meccanico Subaru che lavora con il cuore e me la cura amorevolmente. Amo Subsru

    I have a open type dpf in outback 2008. I have Not found out if it would flash codes or work in limp mode if removed. Do you know?

  • @ivangenashkov1307
    @ivangenashkov1307 2 года назад

    The DPF can be removed, but it must be both software and hardware removal by specialist. In every diesel car that has DPF this 1st thing you should do is to remove the dpf so it wont cause trouble and also the car will become a bit quicker and more fuel efitient.

      That might be true, but it is definitely ethicly questionable.

    • @andrewlaw

      Only problem with that is any country that has an annual inspection service will fail it as its a legal requirement to have a DPF fitted for emissions purposes.
