    Hi Deb 😊 The brown patterned dress looks so very elegant on you. I think this is a dress pattern that will never date and would be well worth sewing up again. I enjoy (and learn from)the detailed explanation you provide in respect to each of your sewing projects. I presume by now you feel settled in your new sewing room as it is always a good feeling when at last you feel at home after a move. Happy sewing 🌸

    Hey Deb, I remember when you made the wrap-around skirts. You (or mum) made some for me when I went to teacher's college. You're right - it did have a slot to feed the tie through. I recall they were in a cotton fabric for summer.
    All your makes are lovely - the dress so elegant and I love those puffed sleeves on the top. They look brilliant. Mia's dress looks sweet in a plain fabric with the added little frills.
    Such a clever sister. I think mum is watching over your shoulder as you sew; she would be proud of you and your efforts ❤

    Wow! What a beautiful dress! I bought that pattern and was going to use a double gauze but, since seeing yours, I love how it looks in a Viscose. Thanks for the tip about button placement on a dress. I was not aware of that. ❤
    The puff sleeve top is beautiful, too! I have hesitated over buying that pattern as I have big biceps, wasn't certain about so much puff! I am feeling that you could size down one size? Anyway, personal preference.
    Love Mia's little dress...I just love double gauze.
    Great advice for cutting out a bias cut skirt, too! Just loving all of your wise tips, Deb!❤

      @@alisonodonnell7832 Thanks Alison, the Hughuette Dress is a lovely pattern and would be a great dress to wear to work, I think the viscose does the pattern justice. It you were worried about the bubble sleeve top being too puffy if you used a less structured fabric it would relax the sleeves considerably, I probably should have sized down as I now have in the balloon sleeve top. I’m hoping the dress for Mia fits her, then I can use that base to make her a few more, although she is a leggings and t shirt play in the mud girl. I’m glad the tips are helping, have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    Hi Deb, the Hughette dress is lovely in very pretty fabric, I agree, a size smaller maybe? The facing popping out solutions should work out OK. It's annoying to wear when that happens tho, isn't it. The V neck reminds me of the Patina Blouse neckline, very flattering when it sits flat. Ooh, the Sweet Talker top is gorgeous. The sleeves look so great! Loved your explanation about FBA and what the garement looks like if you should have done a FBA. Happy sewing ❤

    Love that fabric from Drapers (colour is beautiful) - am just waiting on my Sweet Bubble pattern to be printed so looking forward to that. Just wondering (with all of your sewing experience) would you be able to recommend a lining for a skirt dress which would go well with rayon? I have a Spotlight close by and I believe they would be the cheapest but if you have another suggestion I would appreciate it.

    • @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668
      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  5 дней назад

      @@marlenede-abel1336 Hi Marlene the drapers fabric is a gorgeous colour. If I was lining rayon I would line it with either of these three: very fine cotton lawn or a thin rayon in a plain colour or a bemsilk which is a normal silky lining fabric that is the cheapest type, I hope this helps, Spotlight will have this called pongee polyester lining, the lawn may be in the childrens/baby section, I hope this helps. Have fun with your bubble sleeve top the instructions are excellent. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕
