I've loved star trek since I was a kid, I'm 74 now. I hate to see all the actors that have passed. I especially loved the music scores that went with the shows. My husband and I still watch them almost every evening before we go to bed.
@@JIMMY-THE-JEW-FROM-PHILLY Oh yean, and I can't do half of what I use to do before my body begin to break and now I'm stuck with two badly replaced shoulders from working so hard. and my knees are weak. I', actually a 74 yr old woman. and Hate getting Older.
I'm 75 now, born December 14, 1948. I loved the shows. They took me to places I could only dream about, wonder about, ponder about. I'm sad, and crying, for those who were younger than I am now and are gone. Except for the memories and the wonder of watching them again as their characters take me to wonders I could, and still, only imagine.
I know right? Im about to turn 40 and I see quite a few between 40-50 years old. Im like "geez, thats way to damn young". They didnt get a chance to live so much life. Its unfortunate.
Every day after my 'work education' as a jung man i looked StarTrek with mother and father, Coffee and Cookies🙂Such a nice Memory of old Times. StarTrek never dies and with it my memorys of childhood never dies🖖
I'm 63 a vet, a retired LEO and a cripple now, and I realize now as I enter the winter of my life, that I am the same husky silly 12yr old i once was. That the end is not the end but a new beginning. One that equalizes us all. It should hold no fear for it will own us all.
They all brought something special to Trek, instantly recognisable even though many of them had alot of prosthetics and makeup on at the time, as with all the rest, hopefully there having a good time up there.
So many great actors. This was such a great collage, some of these actors I didn't realized were other characters until showing their other costumes/roles.
Fun Fact: Christopher Collins aka Chris Latta, was the original voice of both the G1 Starscream and the OG Cobra Commander amongst many many other characters.
21/4/24. I was a huge TNG, DS9 and Voyager fan....but only today found out Majel Barrett died in 2008. 😳 I need to come out from under my rock now and then.
She was also in another Rodenberry series called Earth Final Conflict, made after his death. Campy, but worth at least one watch through (ignore season 5, it shouldn't exist)
When show was started i was over 20 years old. Nog seem to be just a kid to me. Now i see that he was my age in RL. He died way to young. Even today i watch DS 9. It bring back memories about dreaming of an better world. Unfortunately it is steel a distant dream. And i am not speaking about warp drive. I am speaking about world without wars and powerty, hunger and intolerance between us.
Wow, I can't tell you how sad I am while watching this vid. Many of the actors died so young, I grew up watching star trek, my mum was a huge fan, and always had star trek on our TV, so it was either watch it or, go out to play, and I found myself watching them with my mum because there was always something to learn no matter the episode, they all had an underlining message in the story line, as well as the subtle lessons that most people miss. Aaron, Rene, Brock Peters, Majel Bennet also hit the hardest for me, they brought so much to their characters, to the story, and have left an indelible imprint on my fond memories of childhood, and in fact my adult life as I still go back and re-watch them, even now. Thank you so much for making this video and allowing us to remember those that have passed way too soon. Rip.
I remember DS9 coming out in the UK, we were on season 1 while most likely season 2 was either in production or was already being broadcast in the US(we always get a new series a year later lol. Unless you had Sky TV). It came out while I was still in school and my grandmother would record it for me. When I would visit her I would watch nothing else just DS9. Loved it then and still love it today
It's amazing how many actually played more than one charter and in more that one ST show. I met René Auberjonois at a local ST Con back in the mid '90s. That was back when they were affordable and before they had Mega Cons, plus their promo pictures were affordable and the vast majority didn't charge for Autographs. I met Majel Barrett-Roddenberry at another local ST Con also in the mid 90s. They were both very nice and since I had a friend who was a professional photographer taking pictures of my meeting the stars, they both briefly posed during the autograph process. Majel Barrett-Roddenberry even invited me behind the table to be beside her for a photo my friend took. I don't think any of that would happen at one of today's mega cons.
I grew up with Star Trek. I was in a restaurant, The Brown Derby in LA, and overheard the creative crew excited about their production getting the green light and were celebrating. I was 7 years old…..what a journey they were setting in motion, and these people brought life to their characters. Funny- I remember every one…..feeling honoured.
Wow, while its expected, that a lot of actors from a 30y old series have lived a good long life and passed away, so many on this list have died far too young.
Man DS9 was revolutionary in terms of tv. Two strong lead females that were beautiful and smart courageous and cunning and kind. Different races all coming together in some distant corner of the galaxy learning to live together in harmony. It had TVs first gender adversity with a character who has lived as both a man and a woman several times.
It's even harder when you got to meet the ones you liked and admired-like DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Leonard Nimoy, Mark Lenard, Majel Barrett, and many others mattered too. My one favourite wasn't on this list because he was on another programme and I met him a couple of times; he played a medical examiner on a Naval-themed programme.
How on earth is it I never realised 'Leskit' was played by David Graf? That blows my mind. The one I think most effected me was John Colicos because I actually met him about 3 years before he died. Despite the characters he typically played he was actually such a pleasant and funny man.
This really touched me because I have watched Star Trek and all it's iterations, and when the show Clarence Williams 3 I done for. I guess these people become etched in our minds, because it shows how short life really is. May they all rest in peace. 🖖
Crazy how so many actors were born in the 30's and 40's.... I was born in 68'... and they really lived full lives, I could only wish I live that long and full life. I remember so many of the actors from other movies, etc... This was an epic trip to and for all we have lost. May they rest in peace, and I hope they knew Jesus as Saviour. And all of of you as well. If they did, I wioll be able to talk to them later in Heaven and ask them about all their rolls, etc...
I loved Star Trek TNG and DS9. Shows aren’t written like that anymore…the fact that both shows had their own identity, even though they existed in the same universe at the same time, and never stepped over or undercut the other is a thing that doesn’t happen today.
Watching these videos, it's not just surprising how many people you recognize that have died, but it's also that some of them died really young. Another thing I was thinking about recently is, I'm 55 next year and that means that apart from a few Tortoises, whales and other long-living creatures, pretty much every animal, fish, bird and insect on earth now was born after I was born, that is truly shocking.
This is depressing. So many died at around 50 years old! Videos like this usually don't bother me, but I'm such a big Star Trek fan. All the more sader for me to see. I stopped watching at the half way mark.

Most of the original cast of Star Trek have permanently ‘beamed up’ and now so have these people. Live long and prosper. 🖖😿
Makes you wonder how much longer the remaining three have…they’re all either in their 90s or close
Yes, but most of these actors are considerably younger. Several died in their 30s and a whole bunch in their 40s.
Aaron hit me the hardest😭
Shocked to see just how many have passed, sometimes surprises me how long its been since the show aired
They will all be remembered for all their acting & dedication. R.I.P.

What a great series, always will be a favorite in part due to the great acting (and scripts).
Near the beginning, you identify two people as Edward Wiley. The second one, who played Gideon Seyetik, is Richard Kiley (right after Brian Keith).
cried my eyes out.....beautifully done.

It would've been nice to have seen the cause of death listed, especially for those who died young. Otherwise a very fitting and comprehensive list.
So many left us so young.
May they all sleep well but be remembered every time someone watches them on screen .
Beautiful music I've loved star trek all my life so sad how many have passed over 😢😢
Thanks! They’re immortalized in Star Trek. 🎻🙂✌️😎
The majority of them died between 50 to 60 years old. What did they eat during the filming of this series to die so young?
Yeah, the Klingons fared the worst, though I guess many of them died in battles or bar fights! 😂
A lot of the makeups used for things like this were toxic. I heard the woman who played Zhaan on Farscape got health problems from her makeup.
@@gratefulguy4130yep when I started seeing the years .. I said makeup
