I wish the ordinary website Had an interactive part. We could kind of grab products and it will tell you if you should use it in the morning or night. If you’re getting two products that don’t go together. I was looking on there and they just had a couple preset skin care options. But I wanted to do a anti-aging,/acne prone. And I don’t know how to marry the two routines

the ordinary has a regimen guide on their site! it will show all the products and all of their interactions! they have it separated in sections like acids, peptides, etc... you can just look for the products youre interested in! they also list the exact benefits such as helping textural irregularities, hyperpigmentation, etc! super easy

      Ask and u shall receive
      Here’s your notes ...
      {These rules apply to all brands it’s general skincare info}
(Also whatever is in “( )” are my words not hers meaning it wasn’t said explicitly in the video so take whatever is in parentheses with a grain of salt BUT whatever is in “[ ]” are HER words as well as everything else listed here)
      *ACIDS*
Examples are glycolic acid, aha, bha
      •Dont use acids together
-there’s no point they’re both acids
      -some are stronger than others
(this means u should look at ur skincare needs when getting an acid. Not everyone needs a strong acid.)
      •use at night
•use one acid for a routine
-if u use more than 1 acid product, transition like different nights= different products
•don’t use with vitamin c products
      •don’t use with peptides.
-If u wanna use a peptide the same day, use the peptide in the morning [ex: the ordinary buffet is peptide]
      •don’t use with retinol.
-If ur only using ur retinol a few nights a week, then on the nights ur not using it, u can use acids [which includes toner]
-don’t use the ordinary EUK 134 0.1% because it’s an antioxidant and it shouldn’t be used with highly acidic treatments/products
      *PEPTIDES*
-the matrixyl, the buffet, these are examples of peptides
-don’t use with acids [including AHA and BHA products]
      -don’t use with retinol
-don’t use with vitamin c [keep them separate, not even in same routine] a good rule is peptides at night and vitamin c in the morning (just don’t forget sunscreen)
-with the ordinary buffet plus copper peptides 0.1%, same thing with acids vitamin c and retinol dont use with those but ALSO don’t use with anti-oxidants like...
      a] The Ordinary EUK 134 0.1%
      b] The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%
      c] The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5%
      *RETINOL/RETINOIDS*
-dont combine retinol treatments in the same routine
-don’t use retinol in combination with vitamin c, peptides, or acids.
      *VITAMIN C*
-she likes: the Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%
She likes it because alpha Arbutin is a skin lighter so it’s good for hyperpigmentation [dark spots/old acne scars]
-don’t use with retinols/retinoids, peptides, or acids
-don’t use with the ordinary niacinamide + zinc 1% with vitamin C
Dont use these 5 products in combo with the ordinary niacinamide + zinc 1%:
1] the Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%
      2] The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23%
      3] The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30%
4] The Ordinary L-Ascorbic Acid Powder
5] The Ordinary Ethylated Ascorbic Acid
-There are other vitamin Cs from them that u can use this with just not these ones
-Old research showed not to use niacinamide and vitamin c but NEW research shows they pair well together HOWEVER that’s not the case with these 5 particular vitamin C’s. She doesn’t know why these ones don’t pair well with niacinamide but it’s from the company so she says follow it but if u care all that much on why u should, contact the company and ask them.
-the niacinamide solution is good for spot treating acne [and that’s how she uses it]

      Acids with Acids
Acids with Retinol/Retinoid/Retin-A (Can be too harsh on the skin)
      Acids with Vitamin C
Peptides with pure forms of Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid)

Aw shoot but don't worry.. skincare is a trial and error!
You could alternate your nights between the retinol, salicylic, glycolic toner and then of course one day of the week use your AHA + BHA but if you want to be consistent and focus on one particular product then you will need to eliminate a few things.. Use up with what you have first and alternate your nights and then figure out what you want to be consistant with.. 😉

I use the Inkey List products, my whole routine is Inkey List with a few additional items thrown in for extra.
I recently was not sticking to my normal day routine and I ended up making a huge mistake. I added products I didn't use in my morning routine...I guess just to add more and whatever I added really caused some pain. My eye area is so sensitive right now and burns to use anything. Not sure exactly what the problem was which is why I watched this but I believe after watching I used my Hepa-Peptide and Niacinimide together with the products I already always use.
Hopefully my skin will heal and return to normal. I mean this hurts.

    Here’s your notes ...
    {These rules apply to all brands it’s general skincare info}

    • @SincerelyMissAsh
      @SincerelyMissAsh  3 года назад +3

      Hi!
Your products are good but I would definitely incorporate a few more things for your hyperpigmentation and switch your routines around... I would pick up the Alpha Arbutin as this will help to lighten your hyperpigmentation and using either a retinol or retinoid. A Retinol/Retinoid will be great for anti-aging and it will also help to lighten hyperpigmentation.
A.M. HA, Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin C, Moisturizer (optional), SPF
P.M. HA, Alpha Arbutin, Azelaic Acid, Moisturizer, Rose Hip Seed Oil
Night 2: HA, Alpha Arbutin, Buffet, Moisturizer, Rose Hip Seed Oil (incorporate the retinol or retinoid in this routine before moisturizer) Alternate your two night routines to every other day.

Yeah in my video I said the Ordinary doesn't have any conflicts when it comes to the Retinoid and Retinol (other than don't use retinol products together). I still personally wouldn't use acids, peptides and vitamin c with it to avoid any further dryness or irritation.

So can I use my niacinamide 10%* Zinc 1% with my glycolic acid 7% toning solution at the same time?

Thank you that was helpful, I love the product but its quite confusing, and after watching this i now realise I have been mixing some that shouldn't be mixed. Do you have a website where we can see this information?
