I'm a Aesthetician and I'm just so pleased that The Ordinary exists! Amazing products and the prices make it so great skincare is accessible to everyone! Even better than drugstore prices. High end quality for dirt cheap. A lot of people cannot drop 60 bucks or more on one moisturizer etc. Everyone should be able to take care of themselves and feel confident. The ordinary makes that a reality.

rudeawakening The “buffet” actually already has the Matrixyl in it (among other things) so you don’t need both. It certainly won’t hurt anything to use them together though and it won’t matter which one you put on first. Just leave a minute or two for the first one to soak in a bit then apply the other. In the future though, I’d recommend just sticking with the “buffet” as it has the benefits of the matrixyl and more :)
Just a point on the hyaluronic acid. It is really good at attracting water, but is more suited to more humid environments as dry environments can make it draw water FROM your skin. I heard applying it to damp skin/in the steamy bathroom and topping with a very juicy moisturiser is the best way to go.
Quite right. I regularly steam, which really enhances the penetration of hyaluronic acid. If not freshly steamed, a damp face is my canvas. Consequently, my skin is so plump and radiant.
Lovely vid! I will say, however, if you live in a dry climate, be careful with hyaluronic acid. It can actually have the opposite effect, by taking moisture out of your skin and putting it into the air. Should only be used in humid climates. I really liked this video. I wanted to also say the niacinamide is great for reducing the look of large pores. It has been a game changer for me! I only apply the argireline on my forehead and around my eyes. I no longer have wrinkles on my forehead since using this product!! I am 57 and my wrinkles are GONE. I apply the hyaluronic acid to my wet face immediately after washing my face. I then give it time to sink in and dry before applying any other products. This serum can be a bit sticky, so it works much better this way under makeup.

Just waiting for my order of Matrixyl. Now that I've seen this video, I'll get the Buffet as well. I agree with you about Hyaluronic Acid. I even use it on my arms. I'm a senior, and I wish this product had been in the mainstream when I was younger.

I'm so glad I watched this. You answered my question about the Matrxyl and Buffet that I couldn't find anywhere on the internet--whether or not I should use both. I love the Buffet serum. That and the AHA-BHA exfoliator have turned around my dull and aging skin. I'm interested in the Matrixyl because I saw on reddit that some people like it better than the Buffet because they saw results with their wrinkles more quickly and also because of the lighter texture. According to this website, the Matrixyl 3000 used in both products are actually different: the one in Matrixyl is tetrapeptide-7 and the one in Buffet is palmitoyl-pentapeptide 35. To be honest I don't know where she got this information from but she sounds like she knows a lot more than I do. I want to use both, as I feel like I would be missing out on the other peptides that Buffet has. Thanks for the review. Niacinamide is definitely an amazing product I been using it for almost 3 weeks now and see a big difference with acne and in my skin in general love that stuff. Just ordered the buffet I just have to figure how to use it before or after the niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.

I would be interested, if you also tried the Buffet with copper peptides and what you think about it. I was thinking about purchasing the NIOD copper amino isolate serum and I wonder if this is similar to the Buffet with copper peptides, since The Ordinary is significantly more affordable than NIOD and I'd like to try the cheaper version before I invest in the advanced products, just to get an idea, if these ingredients are effective on my skin.

Great info. To let you know I found niacinamide put on then hydrolinic acid my skin burns. I did research and this can happen also. That niacinamide I feel is very strong.
Everyone has difference tolerances to products and ingredients. I don't use Niacinamide everyday but when I do use it I do sometimes combine it with Hyaluronic Acid but not always.

Certain Vitamin C's can conflict with Niacinamide from the Ordinary and I did mention what Vitamin C's those are in my most recent video on "The Ordinary Products You Shouldn't Mix Together" ruclips.net/video/eEt-mdav0lg/видео.html Using a lower percentage of Vitamin C would be good to start with if you have sensitive skin. The Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% is a good one and I use this one..

Yes, the buffet can be tacky on the skin but it's a lovely serum. I like that texture as I find all of my other skincare products stick to my face a little better. I have never experienced pilling with the buffet.

Thank you again for such an informative video, I just got the Buffet, the Lactic Acid ( hoping it would match my Good Genes) and the Hyaluronic Acid , used them once andddddd I got red dots all over my forehead and cheeks, pimples? Irritation ? I don't know what the heck that was, but I wasn't happy at all, I am waiting a few days to give them another try, really hoping it works better. BTW on day one I used buffet first, then the HA, day two the LA then the HA.
Ah thank you!! The red bumps could be from the lactic acid. I also own the lactic acid and it can be a little harsh especially if you are using it a few times a week and your skin isn’t used to it yet! Definitely give it another try and eliminate certain serums to see which one it really is.. try using 1 serum/acid a day to see!
People as a past skincare expert please don't be surprised if you a more drying effect if you use it while living in a dry climate. People that use fillers can't see that is may do this to the skin. But the buffet shouldn't do this.

I have all of these and I love them 3 days in. The Buffet has caused slight irritation under my eyes. I'm hoping over time I will get used to it. I use the Vit C 23% with HA sphere cream at night as it is greasy and bobbles up into beads. I'm excited to see how 1 month of this goes down. I'm from Scotland, love your show. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you! Only now am I starting to apply the Buffet under my eyes.. I never used to as I only put it around the orbital bone but once your skin gets used to it you should be able to go under the eyes with it.. Wait maybe 3-6 months before going under the eyes with it🤗
I love Ordinary products. My nightly skin care routine is glycolic acid toner, lactic acid , buffet, hyaloranic and moisturizer.. do you think it’s too much on my face?

I don’t recommend using the lactic acid and buffet in the same routine.. they cancel each other out. Maybe try alternating those 2 or take the lactic acid out.

Thanks for subscribing 🤗 Yeah I would say it's ok to use together. I have used them both together and my skin was ok. Try it one night and see how your skin is the next day. If you're a little nervous use them together a few times a week to start just to see how your skin tolerates to it.
Oh that's great!! According to the Ordinary you can use peptides with Retinol. My Dermatologist once told me not to but I would go with the Ordinary's recommendations ☺️
I did not know you can’t use niacinamide with C. I have a serum with C E HA and 10% Niacin-amide all together it’s called “Evalight” brightening serum .. and my Timeless C + E ferulic acid
So when I filmed this, I was reading and hearing that you shouldn't combine the two but more research has came out that Niacinamide works well with Vitamin C. The Ordinary says to not combine the two but sometimes I do..
Hi Miss Ash, i am suffering from pigmentation and Melasma, a dark brown color patches on the both side of eyes and forehead area. So i start using Alpha Arbutin and zinc Nicinmide. Is it safe to use these two products together in morning and at night time? Moreover, is it OK to add rose hip oil in routine at night time with the products which i already using. Please suggest a good routine because my dark spots always comes back when i go into sun. And which drugstore Suncreen is good to use with ordinary products. Currently i am using Avene spf 50 and La Roche Posay spf 60.
Hi there, Yes, you can use Alpha Arbutin with Niacinamide and yes you can use these two with Rose Hip Seed Oil. With continuous use, you should see results over time but remember to be patient as these products don't work over night. The two SPF's that you are using are great choices!

They are both good for fine lines. I am a big fan of Matrixyl but the Argireline is also great as well. You could get both and alternate each product on a bi weekly basis..

Ok so when it comes to the EUK this is an antioxidant so you don't want to use it with Buffet + Copper Peptides, with pure forms of Vitamin C which is L-Ascorbic Acid or Ascorbic Acid and direct acids. If you wish to use the EUK with the Buffet, Matrixyl and Argireline you definitely can and the EUK should be used after water based serums but before oils and creams so this would be applied after the three peptides mentioned above...

I wouldn't suggest using The Ordinary peptides on your lips. You could contact the Ordinary to ask them to be 100% certain. I have heard a lot of great things on this lip product bit.ly/340jlaV I haven't used it but I know a few people that have that loved the results.. It's worth looking into 🤗
I have changed up my routine a lot since creating this video but you can use Hyaluronic Acid with buffet, matrixyl, argireline and niacniamde etc... You can use these everyday as well if you wanted to...

It is possible to go through a purging stage with niacinamide.... Try using it a few times a week instead of everyday and see how you do.. Sometimes using this everyday to start could do this...

If your face is currently dry right now then you will want to use a gentle hydrating toner for now until your skin goes back to normal (your combination skin). I would recommend this toner amzn.to/30zmZqC or this one bit.ly/365D4W3 until the dryness goes away. They can all be used twice a day and they could all be used together but it isn't necessary.. I would split them up and use some in the morning and some at night..

You can use them all together but it's not necessary to use all of them in one routine,, You can apply a couple in the morning and then at night use the other ones as well... Applying too many serums at once can cause pilling..
Question! My daughter is using .05 tretinoin for acne. She still has pimples on a daily basis. I’d like to introduce her skin to Niacinamide but HA is so important to use with tret. To avoid excessive dryness. Should she layer the two? If so, how would she go about that? She’s using Vit C serum in the am, should we just switch to Niacinamide? Thanks!
Your daughter can definitely use HA with Tretinoin, I do all the time.. I wouldn't combine Niacinamide with the tretinoin but if she is not using the tretinoin every night then have her use the niacinamide on those nights. She can use the niacinamide in the morning if she wants to, vitamin c and niacinamide can be combined together but I find if I use niacinamide in the morning with certain serums my moisturizer or SPF can pill off my face.

I'm so glad I watched this. You answered my question about the Matrxyl and Buffet that I couldn't find anywhere on the internet--whether or not I should use both. I love the Buffet serum. That and the AHA-BHA exfoliator have turned around my dull and aging skin. I'm interested in the Matrixyl because I saw on reddit that some people like it better than the Buffet because they saw results with their wrinkles more quickly and also because of the lighter texture. According to this website, the Matrixyl 3000 used in both products are actually different: the one in Matrixyl is tetrapeptide-7 and the one in Buffet is palmitoyl-pentapeptide 35. To be honest I don't know where she got this information from but she sounds like she knows a lot more than I do. I want to use both, as I feel like I would be missing out on the other peptides that Buffet has. Thanks for the review. I just clicked the subscribe button!

Niacinamide is definitely an amazing product I been using it for almost 3 weeks now and see a big difference with acne and in my skin in general love that stuff. Just ordered the buffet I just have to figure how to use it before or after the niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.

I would be interested, if you also tried the Buffet with copper peptides and what you think about it. I was thinking about purchasing the NIOD copper amino isolate serum and I wonder if this is similar to the Buffet with copper peptides, since The Ordinary is significantly more affordable than NIOD and I'd like to try the cheaper version before I invest in the advanced products, just to get an idea, if these ingredients are effective on my skin.

Great info. To let you know I found niacinamide put on then hydrolinic acid my skin burns. I did research and this can happen also. That niacinamide I feel is very strong.

Everyone has difference tolerances to products and ingredients. I don't use Niacinamide everyday but when I do use it I do sometimes combine it with Hyaluronic Acid but not always.

Using a lower percentage of Vitamin C would be good to start with if you have sensitive skin. The Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% is a good one and I use this one..

Yes, the buffet can be tacky on the skin but it's a lovely serum. I like that texture as I find all of my other skincare products stick to my face a little better. I have never experienced pilling with the buffet.

Yes you can use these serums with Obagi. You could try the Alpha Arbutin from the Ordinary on those areas on your arms.

Thank you again for such an informative video, I just got the Buffet, the Lactic Acid ( hoping it would match my Good Genes) and the Hyaluronic Acid , used them once andddddd I got red dots all over my forehead and cheeks, pimples? Irritation ? I don't know what the heck that was, but I wasn't happy at all, I am waiting a few days to give them another try, really hoping it works better. BTW on day one I used buffet first, then the HA, day two the LA then the HA.
Ah thank you!! The red bumps could be from the lactic acid. I also own the lactic acid and it can be a little harsh especially if you are using it a few times a week and your skin isn’t used to it yet! Definitely give it another try and eliminate certain serums to see which one it really is.. try using 1 serum/acid a day to see!

People as a past skincare expert please don't be surprised if you a more drying effect if you use it while living in a dry climate. People that use fillers can't see that is may do this to the skin. But the buffet shouldn't do this.

I have all of these and I love them 3 days in. The Buffet has caused slight irritation under my eyes. I'm hoping over time I will get used to it. I use the Vit C 23% with HA sphere cream at night as it is greasy and bobbles up into beads. I'm excited to see how 1 month of this goes down. I'm from Scotland, love your show. Thanks for the tips.

Only now am I starting to apply the Buffet under my eyes.. I never used to as I only put it around the orbital bone but once your skin gets used to it you should be able to go under the eyes with it.. Wait maybe 3-6 months before going under the eyes with it🤗

I don’t recommend using the lactic acid and buffet in the same routine.. they cancel each other out. Maybe try alternating those 2 or take the lactic acid out.

Yeah I would say it's ok to use together. I have used them both together and my skin was ok. Try it one night and see how your skin is the next day. If you're a little nervous use them together a few times a week to start just to see how your skin tolerates to it.

Oh that's great!! According to the Ordinary you can use peptides with Retinol. My Dermatologist once told me not to but I would go with the Ordinary's recommendations ☺️

I did not know you can’t use niacinamide with C. I have a serum with C E HA and 10% Niacin-amide all together it’s called “Evalight” brightening serum .. and my Timeless C + E ferulic acid
So when I filmed this, I was reading and hearing that you shouldn't combine the two but more research has came out that Niacinamide works well with Vitamin C. The Ordinary says to not combine the two but sometimes I do..

Yes you can and I would apply Amino Acid first as it's thinner then the Buffet but either way is fine.
Hi Miss Ash, i am suffering from pigmentation and Melasma, a dark brown color patches on the both side of eyes and forehead area. So i start using Alpha Arbutin and zinc Nicinmide. Yes, you can use Alpha Arbutin with Niacinamide and yes you can use these two with Rose Hip Seed Oil. With continuous use, you should see results over time but remember to be patient as these products don't work over night.
The two SPF's that you are using are great choices!

Ok so when it comes to the EUK this is an antioxidant so you don't want to use it with Buffet + Copper Peptides, with pure forms of Vitamin C which is L-Ascorbic Acid or Ascorbic Acid and direct acids. If you wish to use the EUK with the Buffet, Matrixyl and Argireline you definitely can and the EUK should be used after water based serums but before oils and creams so this would be applied after the three peptides mentioned above...

I wouldn't suggest using The Ordinary peptides on your lips. You could contact the Ordinary to ask them to be 100% certain.

Yes you can use Niacinamide with Hyaluronic Acid. I would put the Hyaluronic Acid on first then the Niacinamide. The Niacinamide can be used once or twice a day if needed.

It is possible to go through a purging stage with niacinamide.... Try using it a few times a week instead of everyday and see how you do.. Sometimes using this everyday to start could do this...

If your face is currently dry right now then you will want to use a gentle hydrating toner for now until your skin goes back to normal (your combination skin). I would recommend this toner amzn.to/30zmZqC or this one bit.ly/365D4W3 until the dryness goes away. Once your skin is back you could continue with one of those or I would recommend a glycolic toner which will help with bumps, acne etc.. bit.ly/2YKEtCB

They can all be used twice a day and they could all be used together but it isn't necessary.. I would split them up and use some in the morning and some at night..

Question! My daughter is using .05 tretinoin for acne. She still has pimples on a daily basis. I’d like to introduce her skin to Niacinamide but HA is so important to use with tret. Your daughter can definitely use HA with Tretinoin, I do all the time..
I wouldn't combine Niacinamide with the tretinoin but if she is not using the tretinoin every night then have her use the niacinamide on those nights. She can use the niacinamide in the morning if she wants to, vitamin c and niacinamide can be combined together but I find if I use niacinamide in the morning with certain serums my moisturizer or SPF can pill off my face.
