Perhaps it is in a drive mode that disconnects the front motor much of the time. My Ioniq 5 has 4 drive modes and 4 regen modes. One drive mode is specifically for snow and similar. In Eco mode it disconnects the front motor much of the time unless the highest regen level is selected. On an unsealed road, I change to Eco mode with regen level 4 ('pedal'), which causes the front motor to be engaged all the time.
It is tested in all modes. No difference. BYD has come with a fix that soon will be sent out to all cars. Look at the solution in part 2: ruclips.net/video/1-tDRGLbTrA/видео.html
It's great that you actually demonstrated that the car is not AWD, but it would have been great to explain how and when the front motor gets into action. Great video, albeit a little short
Maybe the manufacturer had the A letter on their computer keyboard where the R was supposed to be? So, someone builds and sells a vehicle that completely does not do what it says it will do? That's the absolute definition of unsafe. Maybe they should badge it as the BYD Edsel.
As the AWD car has a total of 523bhp from all motors working together, does this 'faulty' car go from 0-100km/h in approx. 3.8 seconds? If it is more like 5-6seconds, then front motor doesn't appear to be working.

Thanks. Tesla's models are among the best AWD cars in our tests. One of the competitors in the BYD Seal AWD test is the updated Model 3 LR. It performs perfectly regardless of whether there is no friction on the front wheels, on the rear wheels or on the right or left wheel pair.

Those joint ventures would then be used to move Chinese R&D to the European partners. And of course, EU should also start colossal industrial espionage campaign in China, scooping up every piece of tech and handing it to EU companies. (the value of Chinese industrial espionage has been estimated to be in the trillions of dollars. Not billions, trillions.)
People don't want PRC brands because of (1) poor build quality, (2) the lack of a decent dealer network and (3) because these tofu cars come with extreme depreciation.
These guys are clowns. It is an awd. Awd isnt 4wd because all 4 wheels are not always engaged. What happened here was that the awd wasnt engaging because they did not read the owners manual on how to engage it with snow. You have to click the snow button right when you need it. Im not sure how true these videos are
We have been testing cars since 1948. We have exposed errors in cars many, many times and car manufacturers have been forced to redo/update cars several times. Most famous is our rolling over with the Mercedes A-Class in the moose test 1997. Mercedes had du recall the model and upgrade the chassis plus implementing ESP (ESC) to make it safe. In this case BYD have come with a fix to remove Seal AWD's faulty behaviour. Its just in snow conditions where you notice the front motor takes a while to kick in. You guys should amend what you said and explian that the awd system was lagging with detecting slippage. You can clearly feel the difference from the rwd to the awd thats why I am against this review. Byd must have just tweaked the response time from the awd to be on more permanently. But people are already critizing the car due to you guys and byd should have the right to sue your organization.
We have all the rights to use the phrases we use, that the front wheels don't engage in the conditions of the test. Thankfully BYD did the right thing, listened to our test results and came up with an update that makes the car better and that benefits the consumers.
All wheel drive means it can all wheel drive if needed and decided by the itac system. It doesn't mean it would always all wheel drive at any second. This is the same for awd ice cars. Misleading video.
We are not saying that this is a permanent all-wheel drive system, but all wheels should be able to drive when the condition demands it. This car model is NOT all-wheel drive, only the back wheels spin, the front wheels won't, as you can see in the video. How can it be a misleading video? It clearly show that the BYD does not give you any 4WD when needed (or when do you think 4wd is needed, if not in a snowy slope?). My Audi Quattro always had 4wd no matter what you did, so it is actually your post that is misleading michael.

Polestar was a brand from the Geely Chinese company in conjunction with Volvo. It is way overpriced compared to the market based on it's technical specs and even Volvo is distancing itself from Polestar, it's share price is falling because a lot of customers don't see the value. Also, Tesla. So full of hype and BS regarding it's specs, fit and finish etc (except for the Shanghai and Brandenburg) manufactured models. Also I would definitely not entertain purchasing a tesla for the many ethical reasons concerning the behaviour of it's ceo.
