Nigel Farage grills David Davis on Brexit & the ‘devastating security blunder’ on Huawei

  • Nigel was joined in studio by the former Brexit Secretary who outlined the danger of Huawei developing the UK's 5G network.
    David Davis joined Nigel in studio to reveal the risks of allowing Huawei into our 5G network.
    The concerns of the former Brexit Secretary were echoed by Nigel who made sure to stress that Huawei operate under the eye of the Chinese Communist Party.
    "5G is going to underpin every aspect of our lives" Mr. Davis put. He said the power of the technology will operate within everything from medical prescriptions to downloading films.
    Showing his concern, the MP for Haltemprice and Howden believed it dangerous for a Chinese company to have effective control over the British internet networks. He believes "to be absolutely sure, we should have it all made in a democracy".

      He was a big player in the campaign against ID Cards, but he resigned over Labour's terrorist legislation which planned to increase the time allowed to hold someone suspected of a terrorist offence in jail, but without charge to 40 days or something like that. The number of days was subsequently reduced to 28 or something. Still a disgraceful time because holding someone without charge is against the spirit of Common Law.

If it's one of his vanity projects, or an opportunity to shovel tax revenue in the direction of his mates, he's never let other implications get in the way. Impossible to actually build? Doesn't stop him. Too expensive to actually finish? Doesn't stop him. Security of our data? Not bothered.
      He wasted £1bn of public money, when he was London mayor. I'd say I was surprised people voted for him, but when the media paint one guy as a terrorist (Corbyn was awful, but he wasn't that), then the public won't mind as much that the guy they do vote for is a common thief.

    What I cannot get my head around is the fact that the UK is a leader in technology from discovery to implementation, but when it comes to the manufacture we trail miles behind! This is due in part to the way we treat start-up companies and have a very low opinion of the workforce in general by management and Bankers in particular! there is a culture of everything must make a profit in the first few years or it is an abject failure, instead of having a long term view into the next decade minimum!
    HS2 is purely a vanity project, we should be looking at a nationwide network of new "Bullit" style trains on the "Maglev" principal. The first from Edinburgh to London with the second Glasgow to London with stations at Birmingham & Manchester. The East coast would have branches to Leeds, Sheffield and Hull. Then a number of cross country lines that connect major cities like Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea to Swindon, London and Dover! etc.etc. Trains that do 3-400 mph cutting journey times by 3-4 hours if not more in the Edinburgh/Glasgow to London routes!

    • @willmartin1033
      @willmartin1033 4 года назад +2

      One wrong out of four. We are and have been negotiating FTAs since 2016, we just can't sign one before leaving. There haven't been any discernable downsides to brexit that any serious person would accept. Nobody but May was particularly interested in a transition deal, which is the only reason we have one. We will get an FTA with the EU eventually it's just the date that was wrong.

    • @porcupineinapettingzoo
      @porcupineinapettingzoo 4 года назад

      @@willmartin1033 Those are just 4 I picked at random, there are many more. If the UK can't get FTAs until leaving why was Davis promising a bigger free zone being created before leaving the EU, was he lying or just wrong? If no one was interested in a transition deal why has the UK asked for two? No downsides? 13% less foreign investment into the UK in 2018 while Ireland saw an increase of 52%, falling pound, divided nation, betfair having an independent Scotland at 50/50, remember when the UK was the world's 5th biggest economy, etc no downsides!

    • @willmartin1033
      @willmartin1033 4 года назад +2

      @@porcupineinapettingzoo I have no idea what a 'free zone' is and I have never seen anyone, including Davis calling for one before leaving the EU. The UK asked for one transition deal under May, which Johnson renegotiated. I've no Idea where 13% less foreign investment comes from when, according to the Government, it's at its highest level since records began. Pound has fallen and risen before and after Brexit, the important thing is it floats. The nation looks very united since the remainers lost the last election so badly, especially compared to the EU. Betfair's odds on anything are pretty irrelevant, and the UK's growth is a lot higher and healthier than most EU countries at the moment, even Germany is stagnating. So far zero downsides to self-government!

    Over the flooding - bang on. The EU have stopped dredging. There used to be a guy that ran the 'pump station', as it was known, that controlled water into the trent, and back out of it. The farmers knew this guy, and he would either let water into the trent from the drains, or let it back up. This was for irrigation, and also for flood management. This man lived on the job. Floods were managed - usually of farmland to create so called 'warp land' where the silt from the flooded trent provided great acreage of very fertile land. All this is gone now, whether by EU rules or cost cutting. River management needs to be re-learned, for sure.
