- James O'Brien responds to texts from listeners claiming he's ‘stirring up a tsunami of hatred’ because of his comments on Israel's behaviour.
‘Janet’s just heard me celebrating the Hamas leader's elimination, mourning the carnage of Palestinian civilians and condemning the decision to demand land be occupied illegally by Israelis', he says.
James also discusses the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who 'masterminded' the October 7th attacks last year.
Sinwar was confirmed dead by Israel's foreign minister on Thursday following DNA testing on bodies recovered at the scene.
Israel's defence minister, Yoav Gallant, took to Twitter following a ground operation by the IDF, writing: "We will reach every terrorist - and eliminate him" adding soon after "our enemies cannot hide."

I was in the US Army and served in Iraq, I could not imagine the American public's perspective if we did a tenth of what the Israelis have done. There were definitely War crimes in Iraq, but not to this level. How can you win a war without protecting as many civilians as possible? It would create more attrition and deaths if you didn't for the troops and it undermine the entire goal.
The only reason I could think is they don't want to "win", but a land grab. If you wanted to "win", you wouldn't turn the entire population against you

I was speaking with someone about Israel's invasion of Lebanon and shooting at UN peacekeepers. Said person promptly trotted out "if you think Lebanonese lives are important, do not forget Israelis were killed on 7 Oct."
