Super thank you. My fuel gauge in the winter gets stuck on full, or wherever it wants, and this got it to read where I already knew it was, down a quarter tank. Thumbs up
Well it's a dealer test mode that the service technician would use to diagnose stuff, I just think it's fun to screw around with and most people don't know about it.
Seems like a good price if the mileage and condition are good. They're pretty reliable cars but make sure the A/C is working, that's the only major trouble spot.
the "odometer counts" is if the truck has passed 1 million miles and went back to zero again, obviously it hasn't seeing as though the truck was built last month
I just noticed that on my 2015, started it up today and after about 500 feet I noticed it's reading ~50mph as I'm driving through a parking lot. Turned it off and let it sit and got back in to drive away thinking maybe it just needed to be turned off and on again. No luck. Got out and wiggled the battery terminal connections thinking it might be a loose electrical connection, no luck. Turned it off again and the speedo is still stuck at 47mph when the truck's off and locked. Will try this engineering mode test and report back if it fixes it. Update: Yep, this method fixed my issue. All the gauge needles made this little scratching/vibrating sound for about 10 seconds, then they did the sweep and reset back to normal.
I'm trying to find out the color code for the instrument cluster. I got a cluster from the junk yard and the plugs for the wiring were all cut.my truck is used , and don't have the oem cab on it.How do I wire the new (junk yard ) Gage's in to it.? Can anyone help me out.
@@EricAtMazda my 2014 f150 xlt has exact same dash lighting/blue and I love it. I'm guessing you have same year or later. I didnt know about this until I needed a new key fob and started a research campaign after finding out the dealers charge $120 for the key fob and $60 to program it!!!! I called other local dealers and found they charge even more!!! Choke! I ordered 2 oem keyfobs for $39 each. If you want more fun playing with cool options you can change look into FORScan program free at www.forscan.org Some programming functions require the extended license but you can get a free trail ext license for 60 days but the full ext license only cost $10 and I was happy to pay that for the money it's going to save me programming my keys to work. A local locksmith was going to charge me $50 each to program. Anyway I dont know if you care about any of that but it will allow you to mod quite a few features that normally require a dealer and they dont tell you about it and will charge you. Search RUclips for forscan mods, you'll be amazed at what it can do.
can this be done to a 2011 ford f150 limited?? I always wondered why I didn't have a digital speedometer, still don't know what it looks like in that mode. any answers? also what about the 2014 FX4?

I think you forgot to mention it has to be in ODO trip mode first
Correct, can't do this on the Jetta to my knowledge
Great video. Thanks!
My guess on the odometer one is that "counts" refer to rollovers.
Yes. Once the odo is maxed it will. flip over back to 000000.0 and show however many counts.
That was my Ford F-150 truck before

The only way is if you put the vehicle in engineering/test mode.
Can u change the blue lights with this or no?
I can't get it to do it on my 2014 f150 xlt
Mine neither
I use this to reset my stuck speedo gauge a couple times a year on my 2016 F150.

You won't like my honest opinion if I tell you...
