Honestly I appreciate the sincerity and filmmaking in the 2nd Thor film than a lot of the post-Ragnarok movies. Darkworld looks like Game of Thrones, like it was shot was a proper camera and real lighting. And the characters aren't sarcastic! They believe in their world. Back when this was made critical cynicism was all the rage, blockbusters needed to be ironic and self-aware. Now I want more of this and less meta self-congratulatory MCU films
Loki and Thor are my two favorites and have been since the first Thor movie came out, (even before that since I grew up reading Marvel comics) and Thor The Dark World is my favorite Thor movie.
The Collector is not a bad guy, but he's not really a good guy either. Without going into all the details, he's just obsessed with his collection. He's not trying to take over the universe or kill anyone. He's not above doing unethical things for the sake of adding to his collection, but in general, he's trustworthy so that people will do business with him to bring him new collectibles.
Exactly! The Collector is just a (Collection Freak), but when you want to talk about Villains, then the one you should really be wary of is (Brainiac) from DC, that guy is a step above the Collector, he wants to collect and preserve every planet and every civilization
I'm glad you like this one too. This movie is at the bottom of the list for many. Yeah the ending isn't the best and the villian is whatever, bit I agree with you that entire middle section with Loki and Thor going back and forth is great.
@@lazypaulreact it could just be a Loki thing? The other long-haired characters I remember him playing are the one from Crimson Peak and Only Lovers Left Alive, and neither character did the hair flip thing. Those are the ones that I know of.
Upon rewatching this movie it is a little more fantastical but that's the nature of Thor's stories, they are meant to be crazy and out there 😊 it is miles better than recent marvel rushed products
The first Thor movie holds a special place in my heart. I consider it my favorite MCU movie while recognizing it wasn't the best MCU movie. No one should ever have to apologize for liking movie A over movie B.
Tbh I actually enjoyed this one and it deserves a little bit more credit than it got when it first came out especially after Frida's death definitely had a wonderful impact to the story especially later on in the Infinity saga but as always I enjoyed your reaction Kristen ❤️
Fun fact Natalie Portman had other obligations and miss shooting of the day the filmed that kissing scene at the end..They were going to use one of the models on hand but Chris Hemsworth said if thats the case I'd rather just call my wife. She was shopping not far from where they were filming and stepped in to make-out with her husband.
After all that exposition... she said: Ok, they got me! 🤣🤣🤣 She´s Cool!!! Now, next one is in my top 3 of the MCU movies, and don´t worry, there´s plenty of good movies. You´ll see. I agreed with you that this one is better than the 1st one, for all that you said. Keep on going!!!
Hmmm my favorite marvel characters are Iron man (you'll see why later on) then Captain America, Hulk (Mark Ruffolo), Hawkeye (especially after what he's been through recently and seeing him in those silk milk commercials), Captain America (Steve Rogers and we'll see how Falcon does as the new Cap), War Machine (Rhodes- Don Cheadle although I would've loved to see how Terrence Howard would've portrayed the character) then there's Tom Holland's Spiderman then of course there's Black Panther (played by the late great Chadwick Boseman)
My favorite part of this movie would have to be Jane slapping Loki in the face and saying “That was for New York”. Not only was that a clever callback to the first Avengers movie, but that’s also a moment that made me chuckle. 😅
Thor is my favorite superhero I like Black Widow though too, for just being a human but still getting up close and personal to fight aliens or enhanved people it takes a lot of guts, hawkeye is normal too but at least he's got the bow and is normally farther away he has some distance between him and others black widow is using grappling close quarters fighting. Scarlett Johansson also looks really hot in the catsuits.
First MCU movie to utter the words "Infinity Stones". Eariler in the film when Odin is reading that book to Thor and Jane he refers to the other stones as simply that "Stones" but then gets solidfied in the mid credit scene with the first ever mention of "Infinity Stones"
Loki died during that scene, but test audiences responded poorly to it. So the movie was rewritten, and the ending was changed for Loki to have faked his death and furthered his plans.
I won’t fault you for enjoying this one more than the first. The first Thor is an incredibly basic movie that’s essentially Captain Marvel with excessive dutch angles. While this one isn’t really given the merits it deserves, it’s still not amazing. Most Hollywood writers don’t really know what to do with Thor. Thor has some of the most powerful story arcs in Marvel comics, and these writers basically ignore all of that because of the fantastical nature of the characters. This one at least attempted to take some of that seriously, but major rewrites really took away what the film could have been. The studio wanted it to be more Loki-centric due to his popularity.
kris , did you watch the movie, Adventures in Babysitting , ? that is sort of a marvel movie, so is Howard the Duck (1986) by george lucas, he made some movie called star wars also
My favorite character ranking: 1 Cap 2 Hulk 3 Iron man 4 Thor 5 Loki 6 Wanda 7 Dr strange 8 spiderman 9 ant man 10 Black Panther 11 winter Soldier 12 hawk eye 13 Falcon (aka black captain America) . . . . .
I don't rate the movies against each other. The MCU is more like episodes in a TV series because they are all connected with continuing characters. As a whole, I rank the MCU in my top two franchises, along with the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit set of 6 films. Among all movies and TV, I rank the collection of MCU films and TV series as my all time favorite.
The first Thor is one of the best Mcu movies. When it came out people thought this movie is so bad but compared to the Disney Marvel today it is a masterpiece.
its probably pointless but my biggest pet peeve with reactors watching marvel movies is that these movies actually go in a certain order and tell a story in a certain order and makes more sense when you watch them in that order but nobody listens to me anyway
Loki you have nothing to be upset about. You’re the one who told the monster to take the stairs to the left ensuring the dark elf would not be killed by Thor’s mother and ensuring that Thor’s mom died.
At this point in the MCU, my favourite Avenger was Thor! 🤣 But for me, I've always been a bigger fan of the side characters. Phil Coulson and Bucky Barnes are top faves for me.
Hi, love Ur reactions. Been waiting especially for MCU. Is there a chance to get them more often ?? They will be kickin' off nicely since next movie. Best Regards
Hi Kristen your reaction to Armageddon was the best. Definitely got my attention. I have a movie I would like for you to react to along with Steph named The Five Heartbeats staring Robert Townsend. I’d love to watch your reaction to it. Thank you and keep up the fun.

Hey Kristen, I just got recommended a video from 4 years ago of you along with Jaby and Achara reacting to Hishe Endgame. Just curious if you could tell what MCU movies you have actually seen, because I thought this is the absolutely first time you're watching these.
Well, not a big fan of this film. Just think it could've been less dark? I would've loved a story where Thor takes his father's suggestion and goes for what is right in front of him, Lady Sif. I could imagine a storyline with Lady Sif and Thor being together, battling enemies together and sharing intimate moments together. So, thanks for this anyway. 👍🤓
You like Loki because he’s a bad guy women like bad men they do not like good men. They only complain when the bad guys that they like treat them badly instead of like a good guy, but if they picked a good guy, they would be treated good but they don’t. They picked the bad guy they get treated badly and then they like to complain about their bad choices.
YEA LOKI! F Mama’s when they favor their own blooded children over adopted ones damn right the adopted ones should always say you’re not my mother. I estranged from my family so I am a loner. I don’t love my mother and I don’t like her so I agree and can relate 100%.
Something about Kristen, luv the reacts, luv them eyes, pretty girl, u so damn fine … probably against popular opinion, but this movie aged very well w/the MCU
I don't understand why this movie gets so much hate. I agree that Christopher Eccleston does not get enough screen time, but there's a lot of great stuff here. And I prefer *this* Thor to the buffoon we get starting in Ragnarok.
It's actually a much better film than it gets credit for - it's badly edited, and they cut way too much of Chris Ecclestone's character but apart from that it's pretty good
I find it both hilarious and disappointing that they cared so little for the villain that they even burned the WRONG side of his face lol That’s some Ember Island Players shit right there 🤣
