@FriesianHorses
Welcome to my Friesian Horses channel.
My name is Yvonne. I create and post videos about my daily life with Friesian Horses. I will show you the true Friesian Horse and what they are like: day to day care, training, riding dressage and the very special birthing of foals. I explain the facts about breeding Friesian Horses and the steps I take to help better the breed.
You will learn that Friesian Horses have a naturally high gait, whether or not they can jump, if they are good for beginners and what they eat.
You will see them running, trotting, playing and even fighting.
I show you every aspect of my life with horses; the beautiful and the not so pretty. What you see in my videos is real!
Did you know that the Friesian Horse originates from Holland, specifically Friesland? That is where I live! I hope Friesian Horses will be love at first sight for you.

dear Yvonne, perhaps next time this can help: The first large-scale study of the physical compression procedure known as the “Madigan squeeze technique” confirms that it helps newborn foals with neonatal maladjustment syndrome (NMS) recover more quickly than those treated with only medication. The technique, which involves wrapping a foal’s upper torso with loops of soft rope and applying pressure for 20 minutes, replicates the compression a foal experiences during birth. NMS affects 1 to 3 percent of foals, most of whom require extensive and often expensive care. John Madigan, DVM, of the University of California-Davis developed the squeeze technique after years of research into how NMS develops. In an earlier study investigating the mechanism of the “flopping reaction” in newborn foals, Madigan’s group found that pressure across the chest area produced significant brain changes, induction of slow wave sleep and hormone changes. >>>> I found it in the WWW.... regards and good luck.
I hope she sees this
Me too
I read that too. Seems to work.
her chances of getting another dummy foal are really quite low. I know you want to help but maybe just empathise
@@NM-ub6ml It's good information for other horse owners, though. They might find this comment in the future when searching for "dummy foal," or remember it from reading it now. The information was presented kindly, so it's all good!
I hope everyone appreciates just how little sleep equine vets actually get! 🧡🧡
VETS ROCK!!!!❤❤❤
Kudos to vet Romy and all of her colleagues 🏆❤️
Thank you, Romy! ♥
Lol Yes! 😅
Absolutely!
yvonne could not do all things with the horses without bauke's support....he is a great husband and man
I totally agree! ❤

The best ❤️
When the vet asked if he would pour the milk in the tube, he didn’t hesitate. Yes, a good good man.
I feel deeply for you and Coralle's increasing frustration. That mare is really good in allowing you, the vet and Bauke in with her new baby. You did well to keep your wits.
Agreed. The change in Coralle’s behavior from her arrival to now is, I believe, due entirely to Yvonne’s gentle and consistent love and care. Coralle trusts her. I don’t think she would have allowed this proximity in the early days of her stay at Stal H. Goedzo, everyone at Stal H!
Indeed...Coralle somehow knew they were all trying to help....poor mare hasn' t eaten, either and needs to produce more milk!
Ya I think Belle was equally confused and distressed and she did seem to realize you were all trying to help. That was sweet to watch her trust Yvonne. 😊
Totally agree! Coralle has become so much more relaxed and gentle under Yvonne’s handling and care. 🌷
@@bonniesuetrecker6273 I think she may not see. She keeps getting stuck in the corners and does not recognize her mother or where to nurse.
Oh, Yvonne, you had such a horrific night there - watching this makes my heart pound (even though I know Belle is doing so well now). But what a hero you are by never giving up! We, the herd, love and admire you for that!!! 💪🤗🥰❣
Absolutely, my heart is pounding too! Thank goodness for you and your family and helpers, dear Yvonne ❤
Yes, I certainly admire her, imm ensely!
Goedzo, Yvonne....you never gave up....
Poor Coralle doesn’t understand all she knows is she’s exhausted, and must protect her foal and yet she understands that Yvonne is there to help. Yvonne you are absolutely amazing!! A big thank you to Bauke for always supporting Yvonne and being by her side❤️
I can't get over how much Coralle trusts Yvonne. She seemed to know Yvonne was trying to help. My YT feed gave me a short of a woman in the stall with her mare and foal and the mare attacked her, latching onto her collar bone and slamming her into the corner. Coralle's behaviour is a testament to Yvonne's skill with horses. And Goedzo Bauke for helping, too. Watching him helping with the feeding made me tear up. What a gruelling night! 💞
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent…
Whenever a horse, big or small, needs a hero, Yvonne is there❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Yvonne🥰
In disputably!!!

Heart breaking to watch, but it has to be done to save her life. Yvonne my prayers are with you as you've done remarkable things in past, and you always preservere ❣️❣️. God be with you and little Belle❣️❣️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yvonne with her infinite patience was just the support Belle and Coralle needed, and thankfully Romy was there to help, and Bauke as always the rock in a stormy sea. So glad there was a happy ending to this awful night ❤
Yvonne, when bottle feeding didn't work after several attempts, you stopped and did not force it in Belle. Many people would have and caused aspiration of colostrum into her lungs. You are very smart. You always seem to know how to do the right thing for your animals.
i thought horses only breathe through their noses? or am i wrong
@@saffron1996 I think it's possible for food to come up through a horse's nostrils. They're still connected in some ways, the airways and the esophagus. Perhaps it can go down "the wrong hole" then too.
@@saffron1996 As in humans you have an esophagus and a trachea. Without a suckle reflex it can go down the trachea and into lungs

Amazing how much they understand us....Goedzo, Coralle!
When you think back to Coralle's arrival at Stal H and how wary and suspicious she was of Yvonne and all the other horses, It is a testimony to Yvonne's knowledge and instinct to see how far Coralle has come.
Corals really is being patient not just with Yvonne but with Belle.

Lisa
Bauka is a wonderful helper. Corolla is a great mom, too. Thank Yvonne for sharing your love of horses with us.
Thank goodness the vet came to feed Belle. I am looking forward to see how you solve the problem.
Wow, it was hard to watch Yvonne doing everything she could do to save Belle in the middle of the night no less. I am so thankful Belle is now thriving. After the first video, I searched RUclips about dummy foals and found a couple that show the owner using soft ropes around the foal's body and a jerking procedure that "resets" the foal's brain. One of the foals required this technique 6 times before it stood up and nursed. I believe they stand in the corner to mimic being in close quarters in the womb and don't really realize they are outside the womb now.
Aww bless them 😢
Makes sense.
True. They are still in a stupor of hormones while in the womb also the large foals seem to have this more compression
Recreate it with the ropes and let them sleep for twenty minute. It resets the clock in their instinctuel mind
Nature knows
We learn
We love
They teach us everything 🥰😇
Thank you all for saving her Well Done Bauke!!!!❤

Neither had l until my friend's donkey had one that was born after a mating between a sire and his own daughter. We spent a day trying to get the foal to nurse, to no avail, alas. Inbreeding is one cause of this syndrome, and a reason to be very careful when breeding in general.

Belle acts like a Hypoglycemic new born puppy. Sometimes at birth they have no energy left and they can't get their brain working enough nurse to get more energy from the colostrum so they get "brain fog" from being low on glucose that is needed to feed the brain. Hopefully getting that colostrum in her does the trick. Lot of tiny meals often helps get glucose conversion to the brain going. For puppies, we give them "benebac" and "jumpstart" which is a malt flavored glucose syrup with B vitamins to get that blood sugar up. Once the blood sugar is up the brain starts to work right.
Thank you, so much...this is interesting, hopefully helpful to Yvonne...whatever may work!
