Rising Star looks super relaxed and comfortable, which is a considerable thing given the traumatic situation of his birth and rehoming to your stable. It must mean that not only does Uniek take care of him well, but she isn't giving off any anxiety or fear or anger. If she was he'd be picking it up. So because he's happy, it means she's happy too, which is lovely to see :)

I think Uniek is about as aware as any creature could be of what happened to her, and yet she's still gentle, patient, and kind. That takes a lot of courage. I'm glad you guys have Uniek, and I'm glad she has you.

It's great to see that she has 100% adopted him, she's very protective. I wonder if she knows the first baby died or is gone and why she's even more protective of him than a horse would normally.
yes, even with their biological foals it will take up to two weeks until the foal is fully aware of who it‘s mother is and that it needs to stick close. Until then, it will just sort of toddle along and it‘s mum‘s job to stay close to her baby. Which means they are serious helicopter mums for that time. They relax a little more later on, when they can be sure that the foal knows where it belongs and will stick around. Until then, Uniek will make absolutely sure she knows what her baby is up to at all times!
Rising star was so little and thin. He turned into a lovely horse and Uniek is such a good mom. You all take such loving care of the Friesians. I would be Al day with them too. 😊
Uniek is so happy with herself and with her baby... little does she know what we all know, lol. But honestly, she's a beautiful loving mother and I am very impressed with the care and love she gives her handsome baby boy.

Rising Star had begun to love on you and trust you early on,your bond with him continued to grow stronger and stronger. I loved when Uniek put her face next to RS and kept checking on him.. Just have to say ,no one looks at their adopted child and thinks your adopted;they are your child whether you gave birth or didn't give birth. Uniek is Rising Star's Mama,she loves him and he loves her. Their's was definitely a Heavenly Match from the moment he entered the barn,she was calling him.Priceless video,thank you Yvonne. Of course he is a Dutch Boy 😊 and great looking at that! I think he is bred for dressage rather than racing, but his colour and markings resemble California Chrome. I don't know too many Dutch horses so apologies ☹
