This is from the Friesian Horses channel. A great channel to sub to if you like horses! This story with the adoption is truly amazing. It’s usually very difficult to get mares to accept a foal that isn’t their own.
I have watched their journey together since the beginning. It's hard to believe Risey is almost a year already and Uniek is carrying another foal. Look forward to watching this new journey.
Rest well, Queen Uniek. You could never birth a foal of your own, but you won the hearts of the world when you took in little Risey. You were a wonderful mother and now little Belle will carry on your legacy. My heart goes out to Yyonne. Uniek was special to her in so many ways. I hope she can heal from losing her and can find a treatment to help Risey with wobblers.
Uniek did have foals that were perfectly healthy before star was still born. Sadly she lost 2 foals(I think it was) after star. So they decided to transplant a fertilised egg into another mare. Unieks last foal was born about 16 days before she passed herself. 😢❤
@@jenniriley482 Ah, someone misinformed me, then. I was told she was never able since Yvonne said Star was supposed to be "The first of her own." Probably misunderstood what she meant when she said that.
Eefje was Queen Uniek's last live birth (she became a star mare recently) and another of her offspring is Julius, he was part of the royal stables and now lives with a loving family in the US
@@SatyrToon I know it's been a bit, but I'll clarify "the first of her own". Uniek was previously owned by Stal G, and Yvonne eventually purchased her as her personal horse. All of Uniek's foals before the purchase belonged to the stable. Any foals after the purchase would belong to Yvonne, who is thus the _her_ in "the first of her own".
It is VERY rare for a mare to foster a foal like this. Risey and Uniek are truly bonded in the best way possible! He is thriving and has grown a lot. And... Uniek is pregnant again! Hooray!
Perhaps Uniek is past the age where she can deliver a healthy foal. I know of a mare who after the age of ten could no longer deliver a foal, the both of them were stillborn. I hope Uniek doesn’t have the same. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@margaretanderson-steven3541 10 is not at all very old for a Horse. On the video originally it was noted that the foals was improperly turned in the womb. His head was forward rather than his hooves and the vet had to attempt to reposition him. Typically mares are not bred after 24/25 but there have been a number of cases of them producing foals at 27 and 28. Genetics mostly account for this.
@@TheNaexis I hope Uniek does have a healthy foal, I only know of the case I spoke of. All I know is that they could not breed from the mare after she was 10 years old. I hope and pray for Uniek to deliver a health foal, she is in the prime of life. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I also saw the video of the passing of queen Uniek.. it was heartbreaking…. A stomach problem I recall ? Rising star has a neurological problem too….. and the lady had a very bad fall some time ago
@@chordsofgratitude2073I think Risey is recovering but I haven’t watched for a couple of weeks. Queen Uniek had a new foal this spring named Belle Uniek but I think Yvonne had to change her name again recently. Belle was born to Uniek via surrogate Coralle.
Omg, that little dance she did, it was so beautiful! She was so legitimately overjoyed that she danced! That was so beautiful, this story was so tragic yet so beautiful. Bravo, Queen Uniek. Bravo, Rising Star.
I can’t believe the friesian horse channel made it to The Dodo channel! That’s amazing. Queen uniek and Rising star’s video is very heartwarming, they both have a very strong bond and still do today.😊
Bittersweet to have this show up on my feed as we celebrated Rising Star's birthday today 🎉😊 Oh Uniek 💔 She was the best mom in the world truly the queen 👑
I have watched the Fresian Horse channel ever since the day Queen Uniek adopted “Rising Star”. It’s been so special seeing mother and son together. Yvonne has done an amazing job at keeping us involved in these beautiful horses lives.
I've seen this before, as a caretaker of horses and cattle, it is a rare event that took place in this great video. The mare will not just take any foal as her own after losing her own, that's just the way it is normally. So, please realize this is a sort of magical event in a way. This doesn't happen every day is my point, but it is a fabulous day when it does happen!! I love the horse's 🐴🐎
It's interesting I saw another one exactly like this on an Australian vet show...and on another episode I saw one where the mom rejected her own foal because she had twins...
@@scottaznavourian3720 It happens both ways, hell it happens in us humans too. Mothers will reject their child, others will briefly mourn the lost of a child and move on and other times they'll latch onto anything young.
@@SilvaDreams yep q friend of mine their sister lost their first child a stillborn and their husband was devastated but her sister grieved for a month and wanted to try again but her husband and everyone else around her thought she was nuts or was cold due to getting over the death so fast People need to stop judging how long grief takes
@@velvetdarksoul8741 Exactly, grief is different for everyone. When my dogs died, I was so out of it the day it happened, but the next day, I was acting like it was just another normal one.
And now we must all pray for Yvonne, the human mother in this story, who has recently had a severe riding accident & was in a coma for a week. She has 2 young boys of her own. Her care for her horses is second to none and she needs all our thoughts now, as does her family. Uniek unfortunately lost another foal this year. Further videos of Rising Stars story are on the Friesian Horses RUclips channel.
At this writing, I sincerely hope Yvonne has fully recovered. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. Queen Uniek is a stunningly beautiful horse and the little foal is adorable. It's really life affirming to see these two species interact (human + horse). Thanks again. ❤
@@angela799 And another great update! Yvonne is using a surrogate for Uniek, a beautiful mare named Coralle. They don't want to risk Unieks health anymore, or lose another foal, so they used Unieks fertilized eggs to implant into Coralle's womb, so they could have a healthier horse to carry a brand new foal to term
_“Every child/baby animal deserves a home and love because family isn’t made from blood, it’s made from love.”_ So happy to see Uniek accept Rising Star with open arms ❤️
I followed this story and love it. The foal she lost was called Star. That's why this beautiful little chestnut is called Rising Star. A fitting nod to the sweet little foal that didn't make it.
Follow the herd at Friesian Horses for a truly wonderful channel. The story of Uniek, angel Star and adopted foal Rising Star has been heartbreaking, then heartwarming. Animals are amazing. Thanks Yvonne, for the narrative.
A little update about Rising star; he is a beautiful horse and until summer of 2023 was doing well and still a stallion but he has developed a condition called wobbler which is a neurological disorder they think something happened to his spine in his neck maybe. He has trouble controlling his back legs. They are keeping him isolated at Yvonne’s stable, where his adoptive mother Uniek is, to allow him to rest without any rough play that would happen if he was with other horses. He seems happy. They recently gelded him as well. He has had at least one treatment with a specialist who does manipulation, pressure points, and acupuncture where he seemed to have some improvement. We are all praying for a miracle that he will be healed of this condition.
@AntonChigurh YES! I felt love and affection every single day of my life after being adopted at two weeks old. My sisters were 15 and 16 respectively and treated me like a baby doll, lol! They would dress me in cute clothes and feather boas😁. My family never missed a chance to tell me how much love and joy I brought to them🥺😌 Love knows no boundaries❤️
My brother and his wife adopted a girl many years ago. Recently he said he was happy we all took into our hearts too but I was just surprised anyone would think to do otherwise. She's my niece - she's family
I remember watching when this sweet mare lost her foal and then they brought her an orphaned foal. Instantly she loved him it made everyone cry, it's like she was the proudest mom around. What a treasure that sweet mare is and the awesome bond she made with Rising Star who btw has been purchased and will there with Yvonne and Queen Unique

Queen Uniek is an amazing mare!! I've followed the original channel and her owner is a true fighter and has overcome immense challenges.... They're all 3 champions!! Rising Star has grown to be a spectacular horse!
I've been following these people & their beautiful Freisian horses & was really heartbroken for Queen Uniek when she lost her foal. Thankfully, Rising Star needed a mom & Queen loved from him from the moment she laid eyes on him. She's been such a great mother to him. Yvonne bought Rising Star so Queen will always have her baby. Queen is expecting another foal so we hope it all goes well this time. Beautiful.
Queen Uniek was always very protective of Risey! Just amazing how she nurtured him as her own. Add the love and care from Yvonne, and it has been a lovely thing to watch him grow and bloom into a beautiful colt. Thank God prayers from all over the world were heard, and Yvonne is healing from her catastrophic injuries. May she continue to get better. I for one, have missed her and the life at Stal G. Best Wishes to all animal lovers around the world.
👋Hi from East Tennessee, USA 🇺🇸 This makes me very happy to see Risey and Uniek together at the beginning of his life! It's been wonderful to watch Uniek raise her adopted foal as her own. And now he's weaned, and growing up so fast. This is a true love story. Those of us who have watched this story since the beginning on "Friesian Horses" have fallen in love with Rising Star and Queen Uniek and Yvonne, and all of the other wonderful people who care magnificent horses. 😍😍😍😍
I'm so glad Queen Uniek and Rising Star are getting the attention they deserve! It's such a heartwarming story, and the two of them are the most amazing horse story I've ever had the pleasure of keeping up with. Love from America!
Uniek and Risy! 😍Uniek is a truly special mare, I have been following them for a long time and watch their videos regularly. I would like to own my own Friesian horse one day, that breed is one of a kind. Goed zo!
Crying all over again! 💕 So happy to see Uniek and Rising Star's story featured on The Dodo, their channel is Friesian Horses, on YT beautiful horses and wonderful people. The full video of this is a rollercoaster of emotion with a very amazing happy ending.
I follow The Friesian Horse channel and recognized this mother and foal right away! Such a wonderful story! Rising Star’s mother died and Uniek’s baby died, so this was a perfect match. ❤️
Love Uniek and Risy! He's such a big boy now! Thank you, Yvonne, for sharing your wonderful horses with the world. Your videos help me relax and feel joy!
I remember seeing Uniek and Rising Star’s story when it was first posted and just crying from the beauty of the story. Both mother and foal had suffered a terrible loss but came together and formed a beautiful bond and it hit me straight in the heart ❤️
This really was the most amazing story. I was so heartbroken the day little Star didn't make it, for both Uniek and Yvonne. The joy when Risy arrived and Uniek started dancing was immense! I've never seen a horse react like that, she must have been feeling enormous emotions. It was such a privilege to see it.
I have to admit I was amazed at how well this mare adapted to mothering a foal that wasn’t hers. To this day, he’s such a spirited little guy and neither mother nor son are ready to let go of that bond.
Uniek is a very sweet and beautiful horse, and a very good mother too. I followed this story from the beginning and can't get enough of the moment they saw eachother for the first time, it's so sweet! Risey, as you call him, has become a strong and healthy colt.
This channel is great to watch, a place with no negativity or politics! It’s just comprised of beautiful stories of these Fresian horses. This breed of horses are so majestic, not only in their beautiful looks, but also in how they trot & cantor, and how they relate to their humans and other horses. The bond between Uniek & Rising Star has been wonderful to watch over the months since they were first introduced in this video. “Risey” has gotten so big and handsome over that time. Yvonne, the person responsible for their RUclips channel (The Fresian’s) was able to buy him at the time he was to return to his original stable. We followers had been preparing ourselves for his departure and were very sad about it. We were pleading to find a way to keep him there at Stal G in the Netherlands. But Yvonne & the original owner took care of that too. Now Yvonne owns both Queen Uniek & Risey & they will be with her forever. FYI, although it looks like it, Yvonne is not the owner or manager of Stal G but in fact, is a dedicated volunteer with tons of expertise who dedicates most of her days to taking care of & training I these beautiful horses. There are other volunteers who also are extremely dedicated as well. They make up the family that is so devoted to these horses that we followers feel a part of. Sounds like I am making a marketing pitch for this channel, and maybe I am,😘 But in actuality, I live in the USA and am just an enthusiastic follower recommending it to anyone who enjoys stories like this.
You are being completely honest about everything you said , I as well live in Va.,USA and love watching Yvonne with all the horses! It’s one amazing channel just about the love and care of horses and the relationship they share with these amazing people!
I have been watching the Friesian Horses channel for awhile now and seeing Queen Uniek and Rising Star first came together I just knew everything would be okay! She is a wonderful mother!
Just cried my eyes out while watching this story a second time. I watched the video of Star’s unfortunate stillbirth, and followed Queen Uniek and Rising Star’s journey from the beginning to the present. I’m so happy for Yvonne and the Friesian Horses channel. I was waiting so long for their story to be shared on The Dodo. 🖤🖤🖤
I've watched Queen Uniek and Rising Star since the moment they w were together and the bond they share is something truly unique, and not only their bond but the bond with their human, Yvonne !! He's much bigger now, but their bond still thrives each and everyday!! It's around the time he is to be weaned from Uniek, but Uniek will always know that's her baby, and Rising Star will always know, that's his Momma!! This is proof that Love conquers over everything!!
I followed this story from the beginning and I'm amazing at hold they bonded. Rising Star has been weened but yet Queen Uniek still stops by to say hello.
This story was one that made 2021 so much better for me. I had never seen the channel before but the video of unike adopting RS popped into my suggest video feeds. I haven't looked back and have looked forward to my weekly and sometimes daily peak into stal G. For those of you who might not be familiar the foal is named Rising star or Risey for short. He started off as a foster with the intention that at some point after he was weaned he would go back to his stable. However he was officially purchased by Yvonne and while she has her own stable with two cute Shetlands and a Rottweiler he and Uniek are staying at Stal G (yes Yvonne owns Uniek following a crowd raising to keep her from being sold last year but she too stays at stal G)
I've *loved* watching this young colt grow up big and strong under his mothers loving care. He's such a handsome thing, and I know he's going to make a stunning stallion before long. His mother remains as beautiful and lovely as ever. Yvonne clearly loves those two with all her heart.
All familiar and lovely faces , Yvonne, Queen Uniek and Rising Star and a wondrous story of a mother mare’s love. So incredible and emotionally touching.
I'm so happy to see this love story being shared with the world by The Dodo! As a followers of Friesian Horses we all felt the heartbreak and devastation of the day Star was born and did not survive. But the next day brought a us miracle for both Queen👑Uniek and Rising Star. I have watched the full video of their story many times and it never fails to bring a tear to my eyes.💜PS: Follow the herd!!
That little dance she did when she seen him was a feeling that could be recognized and felt across species... Any animal, including humans, can tell that that was a moment of pure happiness. ❤️❤️
I am subscribed to her website and I saw this when first posted it. It is an amazing story of love and acceptance. Queen Uniek is a phenomenal Mare with an equally noble and regal disposition. She absolutely loves her owner and "her foal" Rising Star, who was recently weaned. She is also newly pregnant. This is a wonderful story, very worth sharing with others, so thank you!
Thank you, Giovanni..you covered it so well. One cannot help but be in awe of this Friesian Queen....Goedzo, Uniek!!🥇 ( means, " Well done" in her Nation's language..)
I just watched the 7 day weaning video of Rising Star. He looks so big and they say he's a bit fat too(lol). Uniek needed a baby and rising star needed a mom. Wonderful story.
I do not know these horses of course, but I think Queen Uniek knew her baby was gone, because she sense it and she knew his scent. And she was in mourning for him. But, a momma is a momma...when she saw Rising Star with no mommy, it made her so happy. She was very happy to help this baby. Even more so. Because she knew what it was to lose her foul and she knew very well there was no mare for this little one. So she was going to make more than sure this baby would be safe. To see her dance and her eyes light up when she saw Rising Star...it was so beautiful. Horses love their families. They need each other. Some will own just one horse-so sad. They need companions that only speak their language. I am so sorry for the little one that died before birth. That was such pain for everyone there. How wonderful that these horses are all loved. So many are not and abused.
Queen Uniek's happy dance always brings tears to my eyes, especially now when she is so greatly missed. All of Yvonne's and Rein's horses are well loved and cared for. ❤
I love Yvonne's channel and eagerly await each new post. The story of Rising Star and Uniek is amazing and Yvonne shares videos and stories about the other horses at the stable.
Hooray!
I can tell by the comments which ones of us follow Uniek and Risey 🥰🥰🥰🥰 we all know the babies name is Risey. I love it.
Very rare and lucky. I tried once, but my mare didn’t want the foal.
Rising Star is now weaned but Queen Uniek and him still have a very strong bond. A very touching story. We all love them. ❤️

Sorry to hear that 😕. How is the foal doing? How is your family holding up losing such a wonderful horse? 🐎
I’ve been following “the herd” for along time. This was a happy tear filled event.
Love Yvonne and all the horses, animals and people at Friesian Horses. Rising Star is HUGE now and he gets to stay with his mum. xxx
I can’t believe the friesian horse channel made it to The Dodo channel! That’s amazing.
Queen uniek and Rising star’s video is very heartwarming, they both have a very strong bond and still do today.😊
Nice to see Queen Uniek and Rising Star in another video venue. It is a very special, heart-warming story.
Bittersweet to have this show up on my feed as we celebrated Rising Star's birthday today 🎉😊
Oh Uniek 💔
She was the best mom in the world truly the queen 👑
I have watched the Fresian Horse channel ever since the day Queen Uniek adopted “Rising Star”. It’s been so special seeing mother and son together. Yvonne has done an amazing job at keeping us involved in these beautiful horses lives.
That was my first episode as well. Have not missed one since.
I always look forward to my doses of Vitamin Friesian 😊
@@SilvaDreams yep q friend of mine their sister lost their first child a stillborn and their husband was devastated but her sister grieved for a month and wanted to try again but her husband and everyone else around her thought she was nuts or was cold due to getting over the death so fast

The bond between Queen Uniek and Rising Star is exceptional. She is such a good mother and he is always in tune with her.
Beautiful.
Forever in our hearts, Queen Uniek 👑 ❤.

3 years on from this video and he is an amazingly beautiful horse. Hard to believe he was so small.😅. He is gorgeous.
I remember seeing Uniek and Rising Star’s story when it was first posted and just crying from the beauty of the story. Both mother and foal had suffered a terrible loss but came together and formed a beautiful bond and it hit me straight in the heart ❤️
Omg those happy feet she saw him!! So precious
Rest in peace Queen Uniek ❤

It's so nice to see them on this channel! I've been following the herd since Risey's arrival and I love all the horses there
This channel is great to watch, a place with no negativity or politics!

Congrats on making it to the DoDo! One of the best love stories ever told. Pure magic and I still cry every time I see it.
Beautiful. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Uniek and Rising Star.
Uniek and Rising Star. The perfect adoption combination. She has been a wonderful mother to that foal. Love doesn’t depend on blood.
All familiar and lovely faces , Yvonne, Queen Uniek and Rising Star and a wondrous story of a mother mare’s love. So incredible and emotionally touching.
Uniek;s last little one, now all grown up and in the stallion gang ! Loved this stoy.
One cannot help but be in awe of this Friesian Queen....Goedzo, Uniek!!🥇
( means, " Well done" in her Nation's language..)
I just watched the 7 day weaning video of Rising Star. He looks so big and they say he's a bit fat too(lol). Uniek needed a baby and rising star needed a mom. Wonderful story.
At first Uniek was called Foster Mother. That ended quickly. That was her Baby.
Rising Star war noch nie fett, im Gegenteil.
