My grandmother rescued an abused and starved horse in the spring of the early 1900's. She bought it and my dad (a teen at the time) took the horse to a field that had shade and access to water. When he took the horse there its backbone was prominent and its ribs were showing. They left the horse in the field for a couple of months and then my dad went to see how it was doing . He was astounded at the change. The horse, a 16 hand chestnut gelding, was sleek and rounded out; his backbone and ribs no longer showing. They had that horse for many years, mainly as a pet, and there are many funny family stories about that horse's adventures and misdeeds. If my grandmother hadn't rescued him, that horse would have likely died the next winter but instead he had a wonderful life of freedom and love.
I agree that anyone who abuses any animal should prosecuted and put in jail. God Bless Deanna, Amanda and Lucky Horse Rescue for giving new life to Rosie, Britt & Midnight!

Saw recently in a documentary, where Africans Americans want to go back and live in Africa are rejected by native Africans, because of their skin colour. Strange, isn't it...
@@DigiPal What does that have to do with my comment?? People look at Africa as 3rd world and these atrocities happened in what's supposed to be civilised democratic society. It's just a playground run by psychopaths with a society by extension sociopathic hence standing by for 400 years while domestic terrorism was visited amongst a group of people who were enslaved and forced to work for free because of the colour of their skin. The correlation to how people can let animals suffer is laughable in the face of such insanity. I don't live in Africa never been there and to my knowledge they've never enslaved my my ancestors and hung them from trees for sport.
When all 3 were running together for the first time in their field, their freedom run, it was so heart-warming, so precious. They were doing what horses do. That’s the best part!!!! Thank you for sharing & caring animal love
@UClG65i9kxTT86spZQoK22eA they are living things who rely on humans to take care of them. Wanting justice for these animals being abused and starved is not an unnatural thought process. Thinking they're just animals they can starve and be trapped away from food and care is not. Makes me wonder how you care for your pets.
Asuma Woods lmfao it's humans who don't have feelings, humans are beyond scum. Thinking they are better than animals, when in reality animals are better than humans.

Morgan Freeman I don’t understand the purpose of this comment. The video is about a horse. I’m providing a positive comment about the subject matter of the video. My comment isn’t saying that other animals aren’t as precious. What’s the point of adding your two cents to criticize and respond to the comment? Good lord the types of people on RUclips who find problems where none exist. 🤣
My first horse's owner let him loose by the river here in Florida and fed no grain. It was winter and not much grass either. When I got him he was skin and bones. I was 11 and so happy to have a horse. He fattened up and had a great life with me. He was like a dog and we could let him free in the yard. We had some great adventures together.
And to watch badly mistreated horses finally be so joyful that they kick up their heels, that is a picture of pure horse bliss. That is a sight for sore eyes.

With horses it is more complicated, because they are really expensive to keep, and sometimes people don't realize/don't care about this fact. It does not mean, that just because you run out of money, you can mistreat your animals. I'm just saying that finding a new home for a horse is much harder than eg. a dog/cat from this aspect.

@@sunnyjewelgraham1853 the point is: whenever there is a sweet horse, cat or dog video, millions of people watch this and feel happy about these animals. meanwhile we as human race are responsible for billions of tormented animals, because we want to eat them cheap for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Jeremy Wade with power comes responsibilities. Just because we rule the world doesn’t mean we can just do whatever we want. We are responsible for good care for this world and at the moment humans aren’t really doing good things to earth.
As a horse ranch owner, the first part broke my heart. The second part filled me with the awe of LOVE. Folks it is not always easy, but damn, the rewards are GREAT. HATING IS EASY. Love takes time, patience and focus. Not so easy.
Atually, I think hating is harder. It eats away at you/controls your life. There's no reward in it. No joy. No fun. THESE gals create joy, and it'll nurture them, as they nurture the horses. Great work gals!

Oh, I've been there. Many years ago I worked at a boarding stable that had some pasture boarded horses. A couple of them were quite old and their owner rarely came to see them. These were former competition horses that had given their all and were now being pushed around and forced to fight for their food with the others outside. We had a couple unoccupied stalls and I would bring them in to eat in peace and give them extras. I got yelled at for it often and I did not care. I just started showing up earlier to feed, so the owners of the barn were still up at the house. I never really understood what the problem was with bringing them in to feed them. Yes, it's a bit of an extra service provided to the owner, but it was a service that I didn't mind providing. The people who own some of these facilities are absolutely money hungry. They would rather watch the horse suffer than provide a little extra care for free. And don't even get me started on owners who dump their horse's in boarding facilities and never go check on them. I don't know, bottom line for me was I cared for those horses way more than the owner or the people who were paid to take care of them. Sad, really.😞💁
First, THANK YOU for your service. Second, I'm so thankful you're able to get therapy that helps with the PTSD and let's you enjoy such beautiful animals. So cool!💗
Horses and dogs and cats and cows , pigs, hens and so on.EVERY animal suffers when treated with cruelty. All the animals "produced" for meat and eggs and milk and so on. Because of that I'm a Vegan. I love horses VERY MUCH ( I had my own horse for over 30 years ) but ALL Animals suffer so much bc of ppl who didn't think twice what they are causing by buing ( cheep ) meat / eggs / milk. VERY WELL DONE by recuing these 3 Sweathearts 💝👍🐴
We have a horse who we rescued at the beginning of the year. He was as thin as Rosie in the video was and he was very depressed. Some good vet care, farrier care, supplements and lots and lots of food later, he is a fat, happy spoiled boy! Disco is only sound for very light riding, but he has a permanent home with us and he will be a very spoiled lawnmower for the rest of his life 💜 I wish that he and these beautiful mares had never had to experience such horrible neglect, but I’m glad that all four of them are happy and loved now!
I used to ride the horses at a local farm when I was younger in exchange for helping out mucking out all the animals. As I got older I grew taller so they would put me on their biggest horse called Taurus. Then because of his size he was also the strongest, so every time I rode him and we walked past some tasty grass he would deliberately pull his head down to eat the grass lawnmower style hanking at me holding on the reigns. One time we were walking past quite a steep bank and he saw some grass and he yanked so hard with me holding on the reigns, he pulled me right off, rolling right down his neck then I ended up rolling right down the bank. I'm sure he did it on purpose and was laughing at me silently in his head. It was quite funny actually lol. So be warned lawnmower horses are not the easiest to ride lol. 😄✌🐎
I love those horses. I had 28 in my huge horse barn. With an enormous indoor riding jumping area. Those horses are the result of all the special care they received Thank you.
I kept reading the comments about everyone crying when the girls started running, thinking "ahh, that's cute, I won't, but that's cute". Yeah, no...I TOTALLY teared up. 🥺
Yes, although my decidedly not starved horses do the exact same thing if there's anything fresh and green near us when I"m moving them from paddock to arena or round pen.
They probably wanted one but after a little while couldn't take on the responsibilities and started neglecting them because they were too lazy to take care of them or couldn't afford to
In beginning seeing that horse going for any food she could find, going for bucket and grass patch to side of road, made me cry. That poor darling baby, to have been starved like that.
This reminds me of my mums horse. When we got him he was really skinny, basically skin and bone. But after a lot of work he got better and now he’s a happy healthy horse😁
Those poor horses had been locked up and starved for such a long time. To have been feed and groomed and loved was special enough, but then to have been given a huge field was icing on the cake! I was mesmerized as they ran in unison, and jumped for joy. That was one of the most amazing moments I’ve seen in a long while!
Thank you from England. We have a situation here in the UK where the traveller community loves horses (I love that about them and their culture and am glad often that we have more horses around due to them) but SOME of that community obtain horses and leave them badly cared for, for whatever reasons. Its just true, am not biased. It leaves some of us having to care for their horses. Sad to see animals suffering.

What does that have to do with my comment??
People look at Africa as 3rd world and these atrocities happened in what's supposed to be civilised democratic society.
It's just a playground run by psychopaths with a society by extension sociopathic hence standing by for 400 years while domestic terrorism was visited amongst a group of people who were enslaved and forced to work for free because of the colour of their skin.
The correlation to how people can let animals suffer is laughable in the face of such insanity.
I don't live in Africa never been there and to my knowledge they've never enslaved my my ancestors and hung them from trees for sport.

So when you wished for a 'ride on' lawnmower, Is this what you expected. 😂
