Fun Fact: The line in the script was "Everyone wants to be me", but Meryl Streep suggested the change to "Everyone wants to be US", making it more impactful.
Miranda makes a false comparison when she says what Andy did to Emily (taking her place in Paris) was as bad as what Miranda did to Nigel. Far from it. Emily had an accident and her injuries prevented her from going to Paris. Andy didn’t cause Emily’s accident. Miranda was calculated in her betrayal of Nigel. Too bad the writers didn’t have Andy point that out to Miranda.
Well no, Emily was already taken off the Paris team and demoted to second assistant, Andy was supposed to tell her during the call that resulted in her accident
@@JamesCarneval Andy’s delay in telling Emily wasn’t motivated by evil or by calculated manipulation in order to produce an outcome for Andy’s own advantage. Her delay was motivated by concern, knowing Emily would be crushed, not to mention that Andy wasn’t the appropriate person to deliver the news. That task should have been Miranda’s. All of us have delayed giving someone bad news because we feared their reaction, and our hesitation would be compounded if the task was foisted upon us by the person who should have done it herself.
@@julietteyork6293 i have no idea where in my message you read "that emily was motivated by evil", i stated the fact that being on the phone with emily while carrying 20 bags and being stressed by the extra work Miranda gave her resulted in the accident. The fact that you cannot understand the literal superficial and simple argument that andy, as smart as she is, "chose to get ahead" whilst knowing that emily really cared about her position of first assistant is completely on you, miranda is doing her job, don't be naive.

Wrong. That happened after the decision.
