      The 'renaissance' was a gradual thing. spreading from the cities of northern itally across europe in slow waves. for example, for this joke, 1500ad doesnt mark the growth of renaissance ideas and trends in Germany, rather, those changes wouldnt reach central europe until the 1600s. Thus 1500 in strausburg IS high middle ages, not renaissance.
      That's what he means by "the renaissance doesnt exist"

      @@JM-tj5qm I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt honestly. "Historical thing not existing" is a common take away from these kinds of misconception corrections. The movement known as the rennesaince is real. It WAS a gradual blooming of scientific and cultural thought that diverged from the typical church centric view by tiny amounts that eventually lead to the modern secular society. It wasn't a single monolithic period where you can see clear distinction between high middle ages and rennesaince.
