This song shows she's a genius song writer and amazing vocalist, even without considering the rest of her work. Sara B was also one of the judges on The Sing Off season 3, where Pentatonix got their start.
This is a song from the broadway musical Waitress like you said- the premise of the play is centred on a waitress in a small town in a loveless marriage; she bakes pies for the diner and dreams of entering a baking contest where the prize money is enough for her to leave town and start a new life, until she finds out she is pregnant and has to re-examine her choices. Sarah did all (or at least most?) of the music for it. Great reaction!
So glad you reacted to this song, Saeed! Sarah Bareilles is an incredible singer-songwriter! I especially love her ballads, but as is showcased in Waitress The Musical, she is witty and funny, too. I think you would really enjoy the musical! There is a DVD/Blu-ray version of the filmed musical available! Also, I second the comment for you to listen to Gravity.
Love your reaction! There is an acoustic live version of this song by Shoshana Bean. Worldclass...brought me to tears. You need to watch it as well. Best version of the song!
I just saw this and I had to react! Sara B is amazing. More songs: Gravity, Brave, Winter Song...just to name a few! Edit: Gosh darnit there's no H in her name. Had to fix it.
I found it! Thanks again ❤ Just bought a T shirt to support you. If you're interested in any Ingrid Michaelson: The Chain, How We Love, and Men Of Snow are my recs.
Hi, Saeed, Have you heard Taylor Swift's "Marjorie," a tribute to her opera singer grandmother? Even if you're not a Swiftie, I think this one might grab you.

Hi, Saeed,
Have you heard Taylor Swift's "Marjorie," a tribute to her opera singer grandmother?
Even if you're not a Swiftie, I think this one might grab you.
Not yet, but definitely want to check out more of Taylor Swift's music.
This song is so poignant because it deals with the dreaded “What if?” game, a game no one wins.
Only pain comes from that game. One i have played too often.
Amazing song.
