Olympics triathlon event CANCELLED as River Seine fails water quality inspection

OLYMPIC triathlon training in the River Seine in Paris was cancelled for the second day in a row because of pollution.
Days of persistent rain meant levels of fecal bacteria and intestinal enterococci were dangerously high and a threat to health on Monday, just as they were on Sunday.

Both you and the commenter below are wrong. The way the sewage system was built in Paris allows excess water and sewage to flow into the seine. This only happens with heavy rainfall. You can find videos explaining it on here
