George, I literally just found your channel from the car flipping video yesterday and Wow. I think this alternative style of video with the relaxed commentary in the background is such a pleasure to watch. It’s refreshing to see compared to some of these other fast paced RUclips videos that rush to cram so much into 10 minutes. I think you’ve done pretty well for yourself mate. You and your son should be proud. 🤙🏻
Awesome job guys she's a Perler the old Falcon❤, I use to hate Ford back when it was Commodore VS Falcon but I've developed a love for the Falcon's, The alloys look beautiful.
@@savetheevo the person I was commenting to deleted their comment. Don't get your little tutu in a ruffle you can still go to ballerina class tonight if you have the right attitude lol

as an american, that is such a weirdly styled car! i see elements of mercury topaz, ford taurus, and even some lincoln on the trunk.. and australian vs american styling just looks strange!
First video I’ve seen from you guys and after watching it I subscribed. Done an amazing job boys, very impressed. Turned that car from a junker to a head turner. Very well done!
The vl got me hooked on the channel but I’m really enjoying your editing and content. I think this channel is really growing. Good job mate keep it coming 👌🏼👌🏼
Its funny how people complain about car prices today, they were always expensive compared to what people earned, you could have bought a nice house for what this car cost back then
@@jpw5029 My parents bought a house in Victoria for $29,000 in 1997, they could have bought two for the price of that car! Same house would be close to 500k now, way more than any new Ford.
I can tell you are post 2000 born.... there were no 'nice' houses for sale for 65k in '90s. All the sub 100k houeses were ex housing trust/semi's or shitholes that needed anywhere from 20-100k put into them to make them nice. The closest thing to what you are saying would maybe be holiday cabins or maybe rural towns. However i agree with the first point you made, cars havent really gone up as much as houses in the grand scheme of things.
The dead fuel pump, yellow headlights, missing indicator lens, the cut heater hose, the noisy power steering pump... man, it's like every E-series had the exact same issues haha. Loved my old '97 Fairlane, but literally every problem the one in this video had, mine also had. I miss that car so much.
Awesome work. Too many of these great aussie cars end up rusting away in someones back yard, stripped for parts or crashed and burned by joyriders. I picked up a BF Fairlane earlier this year after my stage 3 tuned Astra VXR cracked a piston and the navara I bought to use while I was saving for an engine build had a timing chain failure a month after I bought it. To top it off, the Astra got flooded and written off, the payout just enough to cover the loan, so I was broke AF by this stage, and managed to find a BF Fairlane ex limo with 600k on the clock, asking price $2.5k, but needed some work so I managed to pick it up for a grand. As a fleet car, it's always been serviced, so the km's dont worry me, it runs beautifully, is as spacious as a stately home, and only needs a bit of suspension and exhaust work, probably all up will have cost me $5k by the time it's done and even with 600kms on it will still outlast any of these shitbox imports (Though I did love the Astra, its was a rocket and cornered like a housefly). The government should have done more to keep thge Australian car industry alive - Someone actually calculated that the industry as a whole - Including all the little companies making components for the cars, not to mention income tax and GST from spending from all the workers involved, was worth something like $600-800 in tax dollars per year for the government, yet they couldnt even muster up 1/10th of that to help subsidise the industry and keep it going, absolute lunacy. Thanks for the content, I'm glad I found your channel, it will def help me with doing the bits and pieces I need to on my Fairlane, and if I have any money left after Christmas and there is any spots left, I'll def grab a vip membership, and a chance to win this Bordeaux Beast (You probably already know this, but the colour was named after a red wine from the Bordeaux region in France, which has a distinctively rich deep red colour - Here is a link to a wine colour chart, and you can see it's pretty much bang on : creativebooster.net/cdn/shop/articles/Shades-of-Wine-Color-chart-with-names-and-hex-codes.jpg?v=1683614665&width=1500)

I owned a 1997 5.0 model for 18 years. It was a beautiful luxury family cruiser. They don't do interiors like that anymore and that factory kenwood/pioneer sound system is one of the best ever put in a car. BTW those wheels are a perfect match. I never liked the originals.
*That is much like a Lincoln Town Car in North America.* *The LTD has 9% more power in the top end. But 2% more power in the bottom end compared to the Lincoln Town Car.*

I’m happy with our little working bee 🐝 too ! No way we have a twin survivor , it had the bulk of it amazing nothing major at all , had a tiny bit it one of the corners I got as much of it out as I could , treated it and patched it up

Might have to make my dad enter the giveaway… would love this car as a P plater in a few years. Would match with my dad’s series 2 240kw AU XR8 and a terry turbo ghia. We would have a ford family!
This thing should have had some fancy adjustable height rear suspension for towing.. I recall reading about it in the max ellery's manual but never saw one
@joshdevdoss9041 Just an LTD bud. Fairlane is a completely different level and model. The ladder goes, falcon, fairmont, fairmont ghia, fairlane, fairlane ghia, LTD. Common mistake but no, the fairlane and LTD are separate, not Fairlane LTD
