Lots of great info mydude! I played all of growing up. And now im teaching my daughter for softball. And shes the best hitter on her team. Cause of reasons that your sharing with the world!! Great stuff
Hi John, Good video. Eliminate a soft front side (bat speed killer #5) with a stiff front suspension, yielding a lead leg that functions as the fulcrum you mentioned. In addition to playing baseball, I ran cross country and track & field. Like a race car, a good runner or long jumper has a stiff suspension that directs energy forward, not a soft suspension that seeps energy into the ground. Run 40 yards or 100 meters at maximum speed and feel your suspension stiffen. Now in your new baseball swing, stiffly land your lead leg, which elevates the rotational energy to your hips, torso, and bat. This stiff lead leg is central to throwing a baseball or javelin or hitting a baseball.
SavannahREInvestment Thanks, just trying to get in the gym everyday and eat better. I also started doing a little more cardio. But no specific program.
Hey coach awesome vid 😎, can you make videos about proper slow roller mechanics, thoracic spine and hip mobility stretches exercises for baseball players, lower body explosive exercises , and can you still do those videos on the other 5 parts of baseball and pitching for the best ten drills for each one. Thx
What about pro ball players like cody bellinger, ken griffey jr, joc pederson, dustin pedroia, bobby bonilla, ronald acunia they stand tall and are power hitters. Can you talk about standing tall if your comfortable and generating power.
@@kirk7504 Depending on where identify Start. Stance and Stride? It's style and doesn't matter. The Launch Position-front heel plant, front shoulder down, head and eyes level, head centered, etc, will determine how you finish, meaning at Power-V. I have seen many cool stances and great looking finishes, but the hitter had bat drag, looping swing, hole in the swing, early wrist roll, so the middle matters more than the end.
Kaiden Visser to me, this hinge y’all is a current trend, much like launch angle, exit velocity, etc. They matter, but that’s not what makes the hitter. Not all hitters hinge as is described on Twitter. Hinge, coil, gather, sit into back hip, is also different for each hitter. That’s part of their style as well. It’s once they land into their front foot is where the magic begins. True, how you set that up through your father can have some impact, but according to date it is minimal;about 1 mph bat speed. Fundamentals are more important and this new trend with coiling and hinging emphasis is causing more backside collapse and barrel dump than I’ve seen in the past. Just doesn’t make sense to me, but to each his own.
John, One of the main reasons I see youth players with slow bat speed is the bat is too heavy. For some reason these kids think the larger size bat will hit better but kills bat speed. Many times I see a kid who should be swinging a 29 inch bat but is swinging a 31 inch bat and swing is slow and now out of sequence.
He's 11 y/o and he has been doing strength and conditioning with his JV basketball team. We also have done Med ball throws as well as resistance bands & plyometrics.
I have a question. I'm out of grad school (just turned 24), but I've began practicing baseball and seriously thinking of playing. Once I reach a level where I think playing time is necessary, what should I do? Join a 18+ wood bat league and go from there?
Hey Coach, this isn’t really related to the video but I have been wanting to play baseball for my community college I talked to the coach and he said I was too late for this year but to come back next year the unfortunate thing is I haven’t played actual baseball since high school (I graduated in 2016) do you think if I work really hard this year I may have a chance? Or am I way over my head?
YouGoProBaseball I think after the holidays are over I’m going to work really hard on preparing for next fall the only thing I’m wondering is I don’t really have a strong arm so I don’t really know what position to try out for/work towards getting better at any tips or insight is very much appreciated thank you very much

Michael Bearse That’s great! I’m glad she’s killin’ it!

Damn Johnny Boy, look at you showing off those tree trunks. You've really got back in shape over the past year or so. Good work my man. 👏👏👏👍
Stephen Panega Thanks bro. Trying to slim it out a little bit. 😉

Would love to hear about what training program you are on. Looking cut!

Nick Remo Yes I can!
Really great video. Really need this and is really helpful. Thanks for the tips

all blogs different strokes for different folks . Hitting isn’t how you start all in how you finish

Yeah they start tall but when they are loading they hinge

Is it helpful to bat with a Donut during Live Bp? Like would that increase bat Speed because i would be use to a heavier bat?
Quick Question about pitching, i just turned 14 October 30th and am 5’9 and i throw about 76-78 on average, is this good
Psychic Good but always keep trying to improve

How often should my Son be doing the med ball throws a week? Thanks in advance.
Bryan Wilson what is your sons age and does he currently follow a S&C program?
Bryan Wilson that is my question as well.
He's 11 y/o and he has been doing strength and conditioning with his JV basketball team. We also have done Med ball throws as well as resistance bands & plyometrics.
Quick question: If you have a more expensive bat will it make you hit the ball farther?
Danis Sings A $400 bat can’t fix a 50 cent swing. It’s not the arrow...it’s the Indian.
It depends you can’t have a crappy bat but a 130 dollar bat will do the deal
Your end screen videos are missing. Need to add those in. 😉
Marvin Heyboer Thanks! I just added them. Good looking out. 👊😉

Grade-AMasterpiece yeh man I’m sure you’ll figure it out if it is a priority to you.

Jonathan Ahlert You would know better than me. Go with your gut!
All depends on how much you want it and how much you're willing to sacrifice for it. A bit of good ole fashioned natural talent doesn't hurt either.
