    Your missing the piece that all or most all videos on this topic also miss: utilizing/squeezing the front side glute to UNLOCK your hips to convert ground force to TORQUE ROTATION.
    If pushing forward alone is the focus, it also makes it harder to keep your head still. Bryce Harper & Juan Soto’s lower half action are some of the best.

    His head is moving forward a foot or two on this push off move! Good luck trying to identify breaking balls as your eyes won’t be able to pick up spin or track the ball properly!

      Good point. I also believe that one would Not be able to hit the ball to far with this method since all your weight will already be on your front side as you stride.

    That sounds great on a still object. But when the ball its throwed and you jump on the direction of that object you are shortering the distance to make the decision to swing at a strike or to a ball.

    Good video overall. Brent’s thoughts are right on. His explanation and demonstrations are not correct. A players back femur should NOT actively externally rotate when loading as he describes. The back hip should internally rotate and slightly flex around a stable but flexed leg in order to create potential energy. The move described in this video is, unfortunately, the exact opposite way to generate force.

    Coach ive watched all your videos on timing and i have a important question. Been watching a ton of vid of yelich and his success in Milwaukee. Carlos pena and thome from mlb broke him down and said he had so much success in 2018 due to changing timing by getting ready much sooner than most mlb hitters. He has a big leg kick with a narrow stance as you’re aware. I watch alot of guys on social media doing live ab’s and it looks like they get ready way too late against elite pitchers with higher velo and as a result they get blown away. Is getting ready at the pitchers leg lift too early? I know it’s a tough question but i feel like that extra 2 seconds could be crucial for a hitter. Please help

      Watch CF shots to see when hitters with leg lifts start. Most start when pitchers break their hands.

      FastTwitch24 FastTwitch24 I like to think of timing as a dance. So when should it “start”?...right when you get in the box. You’re timing/dancing with the pitcher. If you’re talking about the “start” as lifting the leg, then that will be different for each hitter and even each pitcher that same hitter may be facing. But typically we see hitters get their foot down when the pitch is about half way to home. I did a video on trout a long time ago. Let me see if I can find it. ruclips.net/video/uZznbrctrgk/видео.html

      YouGoProBaseball i have this video saved under my baseball playlist 👍. I just think for me that i have to get ready sooner since i have a similar timing mech and similar mechanics to guys like devers, pedroia, bregman, and yelich. Feet close together and they load super early to compensate to give themselves the most time possible to get that foot down and ready to launch their swings. Even Devers too loads as the pitcher lifts his leg since he has lots of moving parts in his swing and creates tons of hip to shoulder separation. I guess like pena said: “give yourself enough time to get your best swing.”

    This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Wrong on so many levels. If you push forward and purposely rotate your hips your going to push your hands forward and only be able to hit balls out in front in short window of time.

    • @name7892
      @name7892 4 года назад +1

      seans155 What? Don’t push your hands forward let them come naturally from the hips pulling them.

      I don't think I have seen any MLB players using this method.
