    Great video, detailed info on why young players make mistakes with their swings.This is the exact video I was looking for a very long time. Not anyone in RUclips was able to mention it this detailed.
    My son has been criticized for having bad technique by all the coaches. I have went to many private coaches, no one was able to clearly mention what makes the wrong swing. Thanks

    I once advised by a great professional baseball player to imagine the right hip for a right hander as the bat. When hitting, force the right hip to pivot violently towards the ball. The hands then follow.

    I find it interesting that people say he talks to much. He explains every body movement. He explains how the body works to get a great swing. I see a lot of comments on here that are just plain wrong. If you think this drill is wrong, or he talks to much, then you truly dont want to understand what he is teaching. Everything he is saying is extremely detailed. GREAT Drill. If you just want the drill and not the explanation, just fast forward to the end. But good luck explaining to players or parents or other coaches WHY you are doing it this way. Justin works with MLB players. He knows what hes doing. He works hand and hand with Eric Munson here in my home town in iowa, who also does hitting lessons specifically for the Chicago Cubs. So please tell me they teach it wrong in the MLB.

    For the nay sayers about Justin's teaching. He must be teaching something that the MLB likes. He has now become the director of hitting for the Cubs. Wierd to not know a darn thing. This guy came from my home town of 7k. He's a guru at teaching hitting. Just my opinion.

    This sequence is the key to generating amazing power. I've integrated this drill into my hitter's routines and they are crushing the ball. Understand the kinetic chain that creates lower half momentum, resistance, force, maximum torque with balance at impact and you will understand how this works. This move is the secret sauce of every great hitter. Keep up the great work, Justin. Forget the haters who don't get it...

    It's crazy to me reading through comments the negativity???? If you don't agree with what he has to say, then move the fuck on. The video was put here to help. Does everyone have the same philosophy NO, you can put two great hitters on tape and their approach, stance all maybe different. but fundamentals will be similar and some guys tweak to gain more power later. Via Jose Bautista did in his career. Just kills me the haters we have in the world. Grow up!!!! Some have never even played the game, had not a lick of athletic ability in their body coming up........ can't resist to say something negative, cause that's what they were put here to do. TO HATE......When I played if I didn't believe in something someone was telling me , I listened and was thinking what can take with me, if nothing, I moved the hell on.

      I definitely don't agree with everything he is saying he's missing the key components but that ball he hit was 100% a line drive, maybe a soft line drive but it was nowhere near a groundball, gotta get your eyes checked.

    • @AZJam
      @AZJam 5 лет назад

      Definitely not a ground ball... He put about 70% effort into the swing, but he makes great points. This type of generates lot of momentum from the bat to the ball.

Don't know the guy at all or the program, just stumbled on the video posting something for myself. A lot of effort it looks like and a lot of thought in this video and "HIS" version or opinion on what is the proper way, he basically went through a complete lesson without a hiccup! Pretty good job got to give the dude a bit of credit just for that. I say great job in getting out your version for players to watch and learn from.... not everyone likes a steak cooked med rare...

    Pro players front feet roll over and the back foot drags or lifts because of the force they place on their front bracing leg....which causes the hips to explode in a rotational manner and the back foot has to follow. So linear energy into rotational energy increases POWER! Go To www.trainwiththeking.com/#theory to learn more!

    everybody on talking about hips do not play ball you do not use you hips until your back and shoulders turn and you don't do it for power you transition from your legs to your back to the shoulder and hands

    • @johndim11
      @johndim11 7 лет назад

      William Folts Ted Williams stressed the importance of hips supplying power to the swing and he was only the greatest hitter ever. Much better than your independent league ass with a career average under .250.

  • @MalcolmRobinsonNOLA58

    This guy is very technical, no doubt. But, there are 2 types of teachers in the world - a) 'Git er done types' who just say do it, and b) guys that use complete explanations that take you through the fundamental steps of an athletic skill. This is not everything a kid needs but it is a very important part of the whole process. . Don't like him - just move on. He does know what he is talking about.

    Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to let their hips go this far ahead of their hands! This is an unconnected swing that’s best for taking a pitch, to find timing to deliver a hip+hand connected swing. To recap if your hips clear this far ahead of your hands you’ll need more than kinetic energy to mash!

    Wow, all that confidence and no sustenance... Do the hips really go before the upper body??? Nooo wayyyy. Don't take your hands or knob to the ball Tony Gwynn or Hank Aaron. You'll never be an efficient hitter. Talkin in circles dude, your saying a lot of shit without saying anything at all...

    • @wheykrayz
      @wheykrayz 7 лет назад +2

      So I guess you think the hands go first? Quick hands? Throw the knob? I guess that same logic would go into bench press right? Gotta have strong hands. Same with squats..gotta have extra strong feet. Basketball players must have exceptional feet to jump that high too.
