- In this episode, I review the VHS of Psalty's Salvation Celebration: The Movie-a nightmare of a film with a lumbering, talking, preaching songbook. Oddly, this is probably the most watchable of this Christian children's tape series.

I live in St. Louis, and the fact that Psalty got a key to the city and still might have it with him to this day horrifies me
At least Psalty actually looks like how he does on the box now.
I know he's the villain but that weird mouse is low key making sense
1:35 barney isn’t that calming
He’s more loud
This is creepy
Psalty is wonderfully and hilariously creepy to look upon!
mickey mouse WISHES he was risky rat
this is better than therapy. I hope you know how much I appreciate you doing these.
The kids praise albums (or Psalty albums) switched album 9 and 10 so salvation celebration is the 10th album (9th in real life) and the 9th album (Psalty’s missing 9) is the tape that Risky Rat stole and he went to Africa, Psalty’s missing 9 in about Psalty and the kids going across Africa while looking for Risky and the stolen 9th album ,
Wait, hold up. What about any of this is antisemitic or racist? I remember these videos growing up, and nothing of the kind was taught or implied.
Risky Rat is a harmful stereotype of a Jewish businessman (a character trope that has been around for centuries, from Shakespeare’s plays to Silent-Era cinema). He works in the entertainment industry and makes money by manipulating and scamming naive people, he wears a fancy suit, he has dark curly hair and a bulbous nose, and he is scared of losing his power to Christians.
Also, this movie is racist and severely dated because it portrays native Africans as cannibalistic, ungoverned savages that need to be christened. Many of the Psalty tapes shove the belief that Christianity is the only valid religion in the world and that those who aren’t Christian are bad or need to be “touched by Jesus”.

NOTE: Do keep in mind that some bits in this video were edited out for TV Airings, so some things may not make since.
psalty isn't creepy at all to me. I have fond memories of this show. This isn't fact you're presenting it's opinion. This is your viewpoint. There are many people who do not share that same perspective.
He never claimed it was anything other than his opinion?
Hail Satan :)
@@blugreen123 Christians are so used to preaching that they can’t imagine expressing a viewpoint that isn’t meant to influence someone else’s beliefs.
This franchise was geared for children
Yet it strikes horror into adults!
@@ThommyofThenn So does Barney. Or Teletubbies.
@@s4sutler100 Speaking of, have you seen JJ the Jet Plane?
