23:18 What Navi said is really important to me, because Jayce, being formerly suicidal in S1, Act 1, and having no form to return, he was still doing the most to stay alive.
It's interesting, he is almost always right. He told them magic was too dangerous, he told Jace to never mention magic at the trial, he told them to slow down on the hex gems, he told them to destroy the hex core, he told the council they need to stop with the petty disputes and "corruption" that divides them and be one again, he told Ekko not to mess with the time travel too fast cuz it could be dangerous. In the end, he also learned something from Ekko. Since he met him, "he truly lived". It's a reference to what Ekko said in season 1 "It's not enough to give people what they need to survive, you need to give them what they need to live". This shows Heimerdinger wasn't just a stubborn old guy who was stuck in his ways, he just had the right answer to most things because of experience and he was always open to change if he was wrong about something.
Kind of. He was mostly right about the dangers, but he was also arrogant and dismissive, and expected them to just automatically listen to him because he was older. He lacked the perspective to understand why they cared about it so much, and his long lifespan kept him from understanding that humans can't afford to wait decades for things to get better. That's why, this time, he took an active part in helping Ekko: instead of saying "That's dangerous, don't do it." he said "That's dangerous, let me help you." And because of his help, this time it worked out much better.
My theory is this world is different, because this heimer was here 3yrs back. So he maybe did things he didn't do in our timeline and made things better by council work, maybe?
@@anothervagabond This. While he was right quite often, his arrogance, lack of proper communication and unwillingness to actively guide until the end caused people to take some very bad risks. He came out of it even more resolute into fixing things in this own timeline. Ekko is HIM, he's the GOAT.
The thing about this episode that hurts me so much is Vi's death as a child inspired people to come together and stop experimenting on dangerous technology which made a much better world. And remember in season one she was willing to give herself up to protect everyone until Vander stopped her, so I honestly believe that if Vi knew her death meant that Vander and Powder and everyone would be safe and happy she would be willing to sacrifice herself.
There's lots of small cute details. Jinx has the red hair strip in honor of Vi. Also, theres like one clear shot of Vanders hand having a VI tattoo on it. And if you pause and look closely at the blue flower pendant, you can see Jinx and Ekkos faces in them.

They didn't need to make an example of them since the damage wasn't as severe as in the main universe.
The little gear coin and it's importance is what you talked about, but it's also the very first thing to go through a hexgate, remember when Jayce and Viktor are floating after using hextech for the first time? The very first object to get pushed through the blue orb between both of them is that same gear coin. Jinx has it because she stole it when she exploded all those guards with Cait and stole the Hex gem. It's now made it's way back to Viktor after all that time once he called Jinx Powder. Right now this is just an overlooked coincidence, I'm sure it has some meaning.

13:34 The animation of this dance sequence with Ekko and Powder is beautiful, and it has a very Spiderverse-esque frame rate trick that makes it even more so. The choppiness? It's animated at 4-fps, to mirror the 4-second limit on Ekko's time loop. His next words to Powder - "I promise I'll never forget this" - almost makes it seem like we're viewing the scene the way Ekko would relive the memory in his head. The Boy Savior deserves this happiness, but he's duty-bound to his own timeline.
No breath = Death, is such a silly theory. They have been optimized and are part Machine/Hextech, and their consciousness remains. That episode also went out of its way to show that Viktor was a good guy trying to help people. He was the clean side of the coin, the extreme of humanity that tries to do good. While the bad side of love was represented by Ambessa and Singed, who would do anything for it, causing harm to others. Viktor realized that part of humanity is the problem.
Don't know if mentioned, but I just realized when Jayce and Vic first worked the Hextech, they show the shatter happen then reverse. So time reversal was always a possibility. They just went in a different direction.
I really love the added detail that in this universe, Silco let his eye die. Unlike in our universe, he wasn't burdened by what happened with Vander; he let it go and forgave. Most likely, in this universe, Silco found Vander's letter in their hideout
I don't know why but out of all the emotional scenes in this entire show, somehow the first kiss between Ekko and Powder absolutely broke me. Genuinely my favourite episode.
I think part of it was because I had no expectations for what was about to happen. Every other episode has many emotional and pivotal scenes that I've pictured in my head over the years in anticipation of this season, which ultimately may have coloured my enjoyment of them as I was watching them with an overly critical eye. However, even though I knew from the game that Ekko had feelings for Jinx, I did not in my wildest dreams expect those feelings to be reciprocated nor for them to come to fruition on this show. When it dawned on me that a romance between them might actually be possible I started to build up this anticipation for the moment for the duration of the entire episode so that when it finally happened it just blew me away.
Fun fact - Heimdeinger can't die. In league lore ,Yordles are technically immortal "spirits". Their spirit just returns to "Bandle City" which is a pocket dimension only Yordles can enter & leave. Unless Riot is retconning their universe rules and lore, since Arcane is canon. also Ekko's true nickname, "The Boy Who Shattered Time"
I don't mean to offend but it's funny how Rana has a terrible sense of time HAHA. Her reaction to the 1000 days comment and then saying "30 seconds" when Ekko time traveled is hilarious.
So 2 things: I think Powder realized this wasn't her Ekko. Either Ekko and Heimer explained it to her or she realized it when she read the book and saw it was talking about switching bodies and consciousness. Plus the way she was talking to him made it sound like she knew this was an Ekko who she wasn't already in a relationship with (b/c she's clearly in one with the Ekko of her world based on how she acts at first and the different drawings they have of each other scattered around) 2nd the fact that she still had the larger crystals but didn't share them was a hint that she wanted Ekko to stay longer and help him with the project Either way, TimeBomb got a great episode!
It's the apotheosis of the running theme of Vi and Jayce being a disaster duo who can't accomplish anything right whenever they're in each other's company XD
One thing someone pointed out that I never realized, the first time we see Jayce he nearly jumps off the roof. Now he’s grasping to keep himself alive no matter what
I think this might be my favourite Arcane episode! It's so nice to see what could have been and Stromae's song is just too good for their dance scene, it gives me chills every time without fail :3
There are COUNTLESS things I adore about this episode, and it's honestly my favorite episode in all of Arcane. But one thing I want to point out that's very poetic and not often mentioned, is how Jayce and Ekko each got sent to the perfect places to sharpen their resolve. Jayce is a man of progress, a man of ambition, and a man of hope. Had he been sent to the world Ekko was sent to, he wouldn't look at how much better it was with Hextech, he'd simply see a promise of how great the world can be, and work even harder towards it, without even realizing that'd just expedite doom. The timeline he was sent on was the only kind that could truly make him understand the gravity of it all. That world is EXACTLY what he's been trying to make, a world were Hextech could thrive and where it evolved so much. And yet, it shows him the truth. It shows Jayce that his perfect future is in reality the worst possible one. THAT'S what made him change so much and switch his world view entirely. And Ekko, he's a man of duty. He's one who always tries to shoulder the weight of everyone else, carry everything himself towards the future he dreams of. For him, seeing a world broken like the one Jayce did would do nothing more than push him down, weight him further, and pressure him to the point he simply wouldn't be able to stand anymore. It would break him. But instead, what he saw was the opposite. He saw what could have been. He saw what he truly wants to protect, and what he wants to strive towards. He saw everything that is worth fighting for, everything that could be lost forever if he gave up. For Jayce, the world he saw was the proof of his mistake, and the answer to correct it. For Ekko, the one he went to was the proof of his dream, it was the fire to rekindle his will. If they had been switched, Jayce would have simply seen an encouragement to progress, and Ekko would have seen the weight pushing him down. Instead of being empowered and guided by their visions, both would only be pushed towards their own destruction. There is a big parallel to make with how each Heimerdinger and Ekko saw the world they were in too, and how that displays Heimerdinger's and Ekko's opposite world views. The first so distracted by what he sees that he is blinded to the world outside his view, and the other so caught up in the weight of what he can't see that it leads him to forgone everything in front of him. But well, this comment is big enough so I won't go too much into that, or the many other parallels like with Powder and Jinx, their respective relationships with Ekko, Silco and Vander, the city itself, etc. Point is, there's just SO MUCH depth to this episode, and so much to analyze and break down. It's really amazing.
Hello Normies! I will translate for you some lyrics of the song on the scene between ekko and powder, it is "Ma meilleure ennemie" ( my best enemy) by Stromae and Pomme (sorry for my English, as a good French speaker my English is horrible) You’re the best thing that ever happened to me But also the worst thing that happened to me The day I met you, I might have preferred that day never happened The worst of blessings The most beautiful curses From you I should get away But as the saying goes "Rather than being alone, it's better to be poorly accompanied" The chorus: My best enemy is you Run away from me The worst is you and me And finally And if you still want to have me, forget about me, the worst is you and I Why does your name hurt me? A beautiful scene that I will keep in my mind for a long time! Thank you for all of your react !
There are so many things that hit on a second watch. The look on Powder's face when Ekko shows her the shards from the hexcristal after knowing she has a memory drawer full of hexcristals from heist that killed Vi.
I believe that Jinx is purposefully hiding the hex core from the world after what happened to Vi which is also why she refuses to leave Zaun even when Vander tell her she can do better things in Piltover. She could’ve brought up the stash she hid to Ekko when he showed her the shards he found but she didn’t. She’s essentially what’s protecting this universe by guarding the hexcore.
In the beginning scene where Powder is introduced you can see that her reflection is Jinx. Powder is smiling at Ekko but in the reflection Jinx isn't. Riot, I am not okay.
Heimerdinger is a Yordle, its a race of to put it short, spirits that manifested a physical form. thats why they are basically immortal and don't die of mortal terms. They emerge in a dimension juxtaposed to Runeterra and can travel across dimensions them being spirits. When something happens to their physical form they just go back into their dimension knownly called as Bandle City. In the old canon, human's perspective of yordles are mythlogical or folktales. They have this natural ability called Glamour that would level their existence into similar to who's looking at them. Basically, if youre looking at a yordle, you wouldnt be able to realize at all. its a really interesting concept. i hope they dont retcon so far from it.
just a lil info about Yordles (Heimerdingers kin) when they die, they just Respawn to "Bandle City" remember that chem-baron mecha-ugly-yordle? he's also a Yordle
I love you guys. Unlike most reactions, you guys don't draw conclusions and hate a character blindly, instead you guys think about all sides and possibilities. That's the reactions everyone needs!!!
In the game ekko's snapback with time is four seconds too, but what's interesting to me is that in japan, 4 in pronounced Shi, and Shi is also equivalent to Death
It’s all good yordles don’t die they just respawn in bandle city so he could of probably just gone back to his dimension at any point if he just commit
What people miss is that this possible future where everything is great it is not because VI died, but because Heimerdinger was transported to his variant while he was still a high console member, and had so much time to change the state between Piltover and the Undercity, for everyone to be accepted and seen equally and have the same opportunities in life, that's why Silco and Vander were able to forgive each other, because there was no longer any inequality that oppressed their people, and maybe VI's death made them talk but that doesn't have to be the only way, Jayce probably killed himself because he was rejected, and his research never saw the light of day, which Heimerdinger probably couldn't stop Jayce from killing himself, because he was probably transported in to his variant after that hapend, and couldn't save his student, and after he changed everything Heimerdinger decided to play music for the people occasionally waiting for his version Ekko to come.

Even closer to your adversaries
But my best enemy is you,
Run from me, the worst is you and me,
But if you're still looking for my voice,
Forget me, the worst is you and me,
I love you, I leave you
Why your name hurts me,
When it hides,
Right there in space
What emotion is hate,
Or the sweetness when I hear your name,
I told you, don't look back
The past that follows you, makes war on you
But my best enemy is you,
Run away from me, the worst is you and me,
But my best enemy is you,
Flee from me, the worst is you and me,

Great reaction as always guys! Cool detail is the Ekko and Jynx faces on the locket he gave her.
God it killed me when Ekko finally got to say how much he loved Benzo and say a proper goodbye, they all couldve been so happy
00:40 Powder's reflection is Jinx.. omg
What could have been versus what could be
Also, the dance was animated at 4 frames because thats how long the time loop lasts
Someone said Jayce went a world where it shouldn’t have been & Ekko went to a world where it could’ve been…I’ll never be the same now
I really love the added detail that in this universe, Silco let his eye die.
Unless Riot is retconning their universe rules and lore, since Arcane is canon.
also Ekko's true nickname, "The Boy Who Shattered Time"
They're basically fae spirits.
the scene with ekko and powder is still kicking my ass and it's been 5 days since i've seen it for the first time
Ma'am...1000 days is like 3 years lol that's nowhere near Heimerdinger's entire life.
I don't mean to offend but it's funny how Rana has a terrible sense of time HAHA. Her reaction to the 1000 days comment and then saying "30 seconds" when Ekko time traveled is hilarious.
Honestly mind-blowing how bad it is
@@GodlyPurp even Heimerdinger's mind was blown later in the episode
So 2 things: I think Powder realized this wasn't her Ekko. Either Ekko and Heimer explained it to her or she realized it when she read the book and saw it was talking about switching bodies and consciousness. Plus the way she was talking to him made it sound like she knew this was an Ekko who she wasn't already in a relationship with (b/c she's clearly in one with the Ekko of her world based on how she acts at first and the different drawings they have of each other scattered around)
2nd the fact that she still had the larger crystals but didn't share them was a hint that she wanted Ekko to stay longer and help him with the project
Either way, TimeBomb got a great episode!
Ekko a better man than me. Couldn’t pay me to go back after I just got my crush and almost everyone I fw is still alive
Episode had major Lost vibes, where they sell you on a full love story in like one episode and recontextualize the rest of the show via sci-fi magic
We've been robbed from more Jinx and Ekko interactions 😢
That roaring sound you heard was two thousand hands tearing into a thousand keyboards to write fanfiction...
Ekko and Powder for life
Honestly, what this ep tells me is that if Vi and Jayce died in Ep 1, the world would be a much better place lol :D
Bullshit... not till nexus shows up...singed is always working... chaos is about to happen sooner or later
"No Victory Without Sacrifice"😭😭😭.
It's the apotheosis of the running theme of Vi and Jayce being a disaster duo who can't accomplish anything right whenever they're in each other's company XD
I thought so too but you have to consider the Heimer was there 3 years earlier so he must've influenced everything with the future knowledge he had.
Suraj: "I feel like his legs might be broken."
Leopold Fitz: "And I took that personally!"
Had a feeling this video was coming lmao 😂 Also I guess you could say that Jayce killed Vi in this universe, so he’s got yet another kid on his record
I just can’t wait till Jayce says, “So where did you go ekko?”
Jayce is going to be so angry
Remember ekkos first seen? He asked for a few more seconds while repairing a clock. And the fight with jinx. He also used a stopwatch.
Ekko and Heimerdinger got to play Life is Strange while Jayce got Dark Souls
2:59 "I thought they were gonna be main characters last season." - You and me both.
One thing someone pointed out that I never realized, the first time we see Jayce he nearly jumps off the roof. Now he’s grasping to keep himself alive no matter what
I was an og shipper, I've been shipping ekko and jink since the beginning and people thought I was crazy😂😂
It's a popular ship! Timebomb is how I've heard it called :)
I was one of those people....I thought yall were squinting too hard, but here we are, Ya'll are winning bigtime.
Its been a ship since Ekko was released in the game
Ekko always said he had a crush on her in the game
Yes, I would have you called you crazy before, but after watching this? Damn.
Act 3 is going to be fun they said
the ekko and powder scene im bawling my eyes out
Ekko and Heimerdinger: Disney land
Jayce: Speedrun Silent hill
I think this might be my favourite Arcane episode! It's so nice to see what could have been and Stromae's song is just too good for their dance scene, it gives me chills every time without fail :3
I lost it when I saw Powder and Mylo getting along in that alternate timeline
The dance sequence being animated at 4 frames per second to mirror Ekko’s 4 second time bomb is 🤌🏻🤌🏻
Now with his time travel device capable of going 4 seconds into the past Ekko has truly become an echo.
That timeline broke me i love Vi so much to see her death written 💔😞 at least Jinx is still alive in Vi’s timeline (we all know jinx survived)
The Boy Who Saw What Could've Been
I don't think Powder from that timeline would use the hextech, because it killed her sister during that job.
She's keeping it safe.
Hello Normies! I will translate for you some lyrics of the song on the scene between ekko and powder, it is "Ma meilleure ennemie" ( my best enemy) by Stromae and Pomme (sorry for my English, as a good French speaker my English is horrible)
You’re the best thing that ever happened to me
But also the worst thing that happened to me
The day I met you, I might have preferred that day never happened
The worst of blessings
The most beautiful curses
From you I should get away
But as the saying goes
"Rather than being alone, it's better to be poorly accompanied"
The chorus:
My best enemy is you
Run away from me
The worst is you and me
And finally
And if you still want to have me, forget about me, the worst is you and I
Why does your name hurt me?
A beautiful scene that I will keep in my mind for a long time!
Thank you for all of your react !
beautiful
There are so many things that hit on a second watch. The look on Powder's face when Ekko shows her the shards from the hexcristal after knowing she has a memory drawer full of hexcristals from heist that killed Vi.
Meanwhile Jayce spawned in silent hill 😂
Canonically, in LoL lore Yordles can't die. So the Dinger isn't dead. When Yordles die they're just transported back to Bandle City.
Ain’t ready for ep. 9
I love how they show here that Ekko can only go back 4 seconds into the past just like his ult skill in the game!!!
In the beginning scene where Powder is introduced you can see that her reflection is Jinx. Powder is smiling at Ekko but in the reflection Jinx isn't. Riot, I am not okay.
Yordles can't die so calm, heim is alive
Heimerdinger is a Yordle, its a race of to put it short, spirits that manifested a physical form. thats why they are basically immortal and don't die of mortal terms. They emerge in a dimension juxtaposed to Runeterra and can travel across dimensions them being spirits. When something happens to their physical form they just go back into their dimension knownly called as Bandle City.
In the old canon, human's perspective of yordles are mythlogical or folktales. They have this natural ability called Glamour that would level their existence into similar to who's looking at them. Basically, if youre looking at a yordle, you wouldnt be able to realize at all.
its a really interesting concept. i hope they dont retcon so far from it.
just a lil info about Yordles (Heimerdingers kin)
when they die, they just Respawn to "Bandle City"
remember that chem-baron mecha-ugly-yordle? he's also a Yordle
I love you guys. Unlike most reactions, you guys don't draw conclusions and hate a character blindly, instead you guys think about all sides and possibilities. That's the reactions everyone needs!!!
Across the Ekkoverse
In the game ekko's snapback with time is four seconds too, but what's interesting to me is that in japan, 4 in pronounced Shi, and Shi is also equivalent to Death
Yordles are like spirits. They never die, they can't die. He is probably elsewhere, maybe Bandopolis. The place where Yordles live.
I think most people already got this after the song came out, but season 1 episode 7 is a parallel to season 2 episode 7. Enemies to lovers
Suraj is carrying the channel since day one. I love that guy.
It’s all good yordles don’t die they just respawn in bandle city so he could of probably just gone back to his dimension at any point if he just commit
Ekko was out here playing a dating sim, while Jayce is stuck in Elden Ring...
