French native here, about that dance scene song, stromae says "My best enemy is you" kinda play-on-words with the expression of "best friend" obviously, "Flee me, the worst is you and me" are the lyrics of the chorus. When I watched the episode and that french song popped up I think it hit 10x deeper because of the lyrics while witnessing that wonderful scene

This episode.... Is utter perfection. Brilliant fantastic heartbreaking utter perfection. We were given the old and tired trope of past present and future in an absolute briliiant manner. Past being Heimer being able to "redo" his past mistakes of non-action taking the teachings of his pupils and actually changing Piltover and Zaun for the better. Jayce being the future seeing the results of what Ekko and Heimer have been telling him.... The consequences of his actions, of his creation. And Ekko a man who's always lived in the present trying to help people but devastated and lost to hopelessness. He needed a rekindle of the hope to show him why. In this he creates the Z-Drive, a congregation of all three men into a mastery of time. The ability to replay the past to fix the present and secure the future. Then we have Jayce. He literally walked miles in Viktors shoes. He broke the same leg like Viktor started in the fissures like Viktor all the way to the very top... Like viktor... And through Viktors journey Jayce realizes they reached the wrong conclusion. Lastly we see how important and truly brilliant Jinx/Powder is to this world. She figures out hextech, time travel, destroys a council, starts a revolution, she's the catalyst for everything both good and bad. If only she could see herself through Ekkos eyes (which is us in this episode). Brilliance is all you can say. This is the absolute peak of Arcane.
3:45 It's a light touch but seeing how close and supportive grown-up Mylo and Powder are in this timeline is especially touching, when you consider how antagonistic their relationship was in the original timeline.... especially Mylo's voice towards Jinx.
I feel like it's probably a case of shared grief bringing them together. Mylo could be a bit of an ass, but he wasn't going to bully Powder in the wake of her losing her sister.
And honestly I think at least part of mylo's bullying was worry. He was a kid in an incredibly stressful situation, grown ass adults would be snappy. I'm not excusing his behavior mind you, but it makes sense
@@bensonwilson519 Agreed. Classic big brother mentality. While the status is quo, imma be on your butt the whole time. However, when something really bad happens, like really bad? Imma protecting that butt.
Well, most of Mylo's actions towards Powder were because she was the only one "below him", because if Powder wasn't there either he'd be the one picked on for being the least useful or he'd do it to himself, thinking the others were better than him and him the weak link or just coming up short all the time. You can see it in episode 3 of season 1 with how anxious and scared he is trying to pick Vander's locks and Vander himself calming him down by telling him he believes in him. Mylo doesn't really believe in himself, which is why he likely took out his fears and frustrations out on Powder, which then lead to a heavy amount of her own mental issues. Given Vi dying in the explosion, and her lack of presence in the world, Powder after getting over her emotional trauma of losing her sister, stepped up to seemingly try to fill her place. Mylo also seemed to adjust himself, be it because he saw what damage it did to Powder and reflected on his own actions or it just impacted him enough to adjust himself.
Another small detail I love, when powder makes her entrance at the dance they show the sliding rail system to pop balloons. Same sliding rail she used to blow up the firelights as Jinx in S1E4. The parallel of her using those tools but for good vs evil

@@hotprints Bandle City is like a pocket dimension, it is its own thing. Heimer was too self-aware that he was in another dimension and already didnt care enough until Ekko arrived. I would very much assume there is 1 Bandle City that exists for every timeline. The mortal rules dont really apply to Yordles and I wouldnt break my head thinking too hard about it. In the Bandle City animation for LoR they showd the Yordles going through portals to arrive at different location and I would assume they can go into other timelines aswell but usually end up in our main universe/timeline because thats just where our stories are told
a world where Arcane disappeared and a world where Arcane overtook everything. Everytime i hear "What could have been" i rehear the last words sung at the end of season 1
The thought that powder didn't use her Cristals to help ekko probably to spend more time with him... As Vander said "can't remember the last time I saw her so alive"
Husky Tantrum was a great reality check (along with "What the pixels?") after being emotionally ripped with the music and the moment of happiness in the kids' life
Just a heads-up about yordles. They don't necessarily die. They just gonna respawn in bandle city. One of league character named Vex, is a depressed Yordle. She's depressed because she basically can't die.
No arms race for hextech/chemtech means no leaving Zaun in the dust. Heimer pays more attention to the needs of Zaunites prior to them feeling the need for another revolution. Silco finds Vander's note in the mineshaft. How beautiful and cruel the butterfly effect can be.
If you watch the episode where they disappear, Heimer goes first, then Ekko, then Jayce. When we find them again, the Professor got sent to the near past, Ekko wound up in basically present day/alternate timeline, and Jayce was flung to the far future, after the calamity had already occurred. They were scattered through time, just like Heimerdinger proposed when he bumped into Ekko at The Last Drop. And their reality just happens to be one where Vi was just a half step slower than in the main storyline. In our version, she only narrowly escaped getting blown to bits. Dunno the ins and outs of how that led to peace for Piltover and prosperity for Zaun, but it's a lovely daydream that only hurts all the more when you realize that we can't stay. 😭 Loving your reactions. And I've watch quite a few. Can't wait to finish the season out with you. ❤
Wonderful reaction, I’ve been enjoying watching it with y’all as if it was the first time. I’m a French speaker and y’all should really search the lyrics for the Jinx and Ekko’s dance scene, it truly fits perfectly and is worth looking into because it explains a lot of how Ekko is feeling in that moment.
There are many moments when this show made me cry. But seing Powder and Ekko dance and realizing the giant "what could have been, but never was" made me sob like a baby.
Some people seem to think that Vi was the source of all the misery and because she died years ago, everything is going "right" or at least much better than the other world. but because of what we see with Silco. It looks like Singed never invented shimmer and also Jayce was not there to invent Hextech. I think it would have been pretty similar if Vi had survived because the real problem started with Silco and the shimmer experiments in the underwater lab with Singed.
I saw someone pointed out that Jayce pretty much went through the same journey Viktor did. Both having to climb away from a hole, with their disability making it even harder. They had to do it all alone until they reached Piltover, in hope for something better.
This episode is easily my all time episode ever. Cause of what has happened before it and then we get this What could have been episode. And the writing and the dialogue and character development for Ekko is just top tier. I've watched this episode alone now 5 times and there hasn't been another episode in any media that is this beautiful and this good storytelling for one episode. I loved this episode so much that i had to send a message to my two buddies that watched it with me and i told them thank you for being with me and experiencing this episode. Cause i've never watched any show with this good singular episode. This is my fav episode ever. And show tbh. Top tier
The song playing for Powder & Ekko is beautiful yet so heartbreaking 😭❤️🩹 My heart has never recovered. It’s saying “but my best enemy is you, flee from me, the worst is you & I, but if you keep searching for my voice, forget me, the worst is you & I” ❤️🩹❤️🩹😭
after the lyrics of the song have a meaning in relation to the scene and their past, it gives an even more emotional side. the title is: my best enemy. I love you, I'm leaving you you are the best thing that happened to me but also the worst thing that happened to me, that day when I met you, perhaps I would have preferred, that this day never came, the worst blessing, the most beautiful curse, I should move away from you, but as the saying goes, rather than being alone it is better to be poorly accompanied, you know what they say, be close to your dearest friends, but also, even closer to your opponents but my best enemy is you, run away from me, the worst is you and me, but if you are still looking for my voice, forget me, the worst is you and me, I love you, I'm leaving you why does your name bless me, when he hides, right there in space what emotion is hatred, or the sweetness when I hear your name, I told you, don't look back the past that follows you, makes war on you but my best enemy is you, run away from me, the worst is you and me, but my best enemy is you, run away from me, the worst is you and me, I love you, I'm leaving you if we translate roughly
Fun fact: The dance scene between Powder and Ekko has a framerate of 4 frames per second which is also the same amount of time Ekko's Z-Drive can rewind
the revelation that alt timeline Powder has the rest of the stones (and didn't disclose that she had them) is terrifying, she's now seen what a few small shards can accomplish...
I love how your reaction to the whole dance-and-kiss-on-the-balcony scene is the same as mine when i first watched it 😭Like you we could barely hold our breath and then he drops the title line and i was UUGLY crying so hard 😭😭😭
Its nice to see that somewhere, in an alternate universe, that Powder is happy. Maybe one day she'll use the hextech crystals to go to the main universe and meet our Vi.
I don't know if it was confirmed but my headcanon is that Jayce was separated from the others because there *was* no Jayce in that reality. It's possible he was also killed in the same explosion as Vi. Notably, we also don't see Cait in this episode either, and all of them would have been at the lab on that day.

Heimerdinger is not dead. His race is called Yordles, magical creatures, and they are literally immortal. If they were to ever die in some concept, they return back to their home, Bandle City. It's a spiritual world that exists on another plane of existence.

Your reaction is on par with most other Reactors I've viewed regarding key particulars of the events of this brutal-sweet episode, but your speculations regarding the gists and implications in this episode's narrative never veered beyond what has and is being presented. Your were exceptionally insightful about the alternate events of the episode paralleling Vi-Jesus's two-sided Hextech Sprocket, and particularly regarding the affects on Ekko informing his treatment of Powder. Though as others, one thing you ladies didn't seemingly pick up on was the essence of Ekko reaching the section of the bridge bazaar where in his reality he had faced off with Jinx, evoking his standing over her unconscious body in the aftermath of her suicidal grenade detonation: EKKO THOUGHT THE EXPLOSION HAD KILLED JINX, that's why his reaction of seeing Powder was so extreme, it wasn't just surprise, it was utter astonishment.

@@hotprints there's only one bandle city, and it exists outside the time and space/multiverse (it's a spirit world) when a yordle die in they're physical form, they automatically respawned in Bandle City, and it's the same Bandle City for everyone.. I know that it's complicated but yeah .. if you want.. try to read the lore in the league of legends site
Jayce went to a different reality because the Jayce of Ekko's timeline died in the explosion, same with Vi and Caitlyn
a world where Arcane disappeared and a world where Arcane overtook everything.
Everytime i hear "What could have been" i rehear the last words sung at the end of season 1
Ekko got in a Powder-dating Simulator while Jayce thrown straight into Dark Souls
Loving your reactions.
I love how powder just had a pouch of a bunch of hex stones while Ekko had to scavenge for tiny pieces of it lol
I saw someone pointed out that Jayce pretty much went through the same journey Viktor did. Both having to climb away from a hole, with their disability making it even harder. They had to do it all alone until they reached Piltover, in hope for something better.
That's a brave amount of eyeliner for Arcane. Looks AMAZING though
For me, the best episode of the entire series. Absolutely stunningly beautiful and bittersweet
The dance was animated at 4 frames a second... just like the 4 second his Z drive can rewind.
the song is amazing , ty Stromae & Pomme🥰
The song that plays during their dance is called "My best enemy" or something. The lyrics of the song make it even more sad.
Is the same mage from season 1, Jayce say "why do you give me this?", referring to the rune he wears in the wrist.
I love how Ekko is in a perfect world dancing with powder and then you cut to jayce on the verge of death getting hunted lol
I love you, I'm leaving you
you are the best thing that happened to me
but also the worst thing that happened to me,
that day when I met you, perhaps I would have preferred,
that this day never came,
the worst blessing,
the most beautiful curse,
I should move away from you,
but as the saying goes,
rather than being alone it is better to be poorly accompanied,
you know what they say,
be close to your dearest friends,
but also,
even closer to your opponents
but my best enemy is you,
run away from me, the worst is you and me,
but if you are still looking for my voice,
forget me, the worst is you and me,
I love you, I'm leaving you
why does your name bless me,
when he hides,
right there in space
what emotion is hatred,
or the sweetness when I hear your name,
I told you, don't look back
the past that follows you, makes war on you
but my best enemy is you,
run away from me, the worst is you and me,
but my best enemy is you,
run away from me, the worst is you and me,
I love you, I'm leaving you
if we translate roughly
I've never noticed the art on the disk until you mentioned it lmao
The song that plays during the dance is called 'Ma meilleure ennemie' which means 'My best/favourite enemy'. Very appropriate
JJK 2x19 and this back-to-back is crazy
Fun fact: The dance scene between Powder and Ekko has a framerate of 4 frames per second which is also the same amount of time Ekko's Z-Drive can rewind
I knew this one was gonna get you with the “first time” line!!
the revelation that alt timeline Powder has the rest of the stones (and didn't disclose that she had them) is terrifying, she's now seen what a few small shards can accomplish...
Powder fell in love with Ekko all over again even when he was from a different timeline UGH my heart!! I love them so much
The part where they are dancing together was done at 1 frame every 4 seconds (just like the limit of the Z drive)
*4 frames per second
The "Can we pretend like it's the first time" tugged on my heartstrings too Q.Q
As french understanding the lyrics of the song at the dance scene make it even more dramatic 😢
I love how your reaction to the whole dance-and-kiss-on-the-balcony scene is the same as mine when i first watched it 😭Like you we could barely hold our breath and then he drops the title line and i was UUGLY crying so hard 😭😭😭
Not the Husky’s tantrum 😂😭😭😭
Its nice to see that somewhere, in an alternate universe, that Powder is happy. Maybe one day she'll use the hextech crystals to go to the main universe and meet our Vi.
I don't know if it was confirmed but my headcanon is that Jayce was separated from the others because there *was* no Jayce in that reality. It's possible he was also killed in the same explosion as Vi. Notably, we also don't see Cait in this episode either, and all of them would have been at the lab on that day.
This episode is like: NOT NOW JAYCE
The name of the song that plays while they’re dancing is French for “my best enemy”
In League of Legends, one of Ekko's voice lines to Jinx is "I had a crush… until you started talking to the gun"
There is only 1 sentence that explains this episode to me: It HURTS SO GOOD.
fav reaction to this ep. cant get that ekko / powder scene / song out of my head. you 2 are rly good at understanding of whats going on in the episodes, keep the episodes coming :)❣
22:50 Yordles don't die. He was probably sent somewhere else or "reborn" in Bandle City (the spiritual place where Yordles live) I imagine.
A lot of people watching this show don't even know what Yordles are 🙂.
What they show us is Heimerdinger vanishing into thin air.
That could mean lots of things, one of them being that he died ...
Yeah but he will respawn in another universe's bandle city not the current timeline
Which is fine, because he wants to stay anyways
@@_MicZ_ there was literally no matter not even dust unlike that scientist lady got turned into dust after touching viktor. I think Riot is using yordle immortality to fk with ppl who dont know anything about league lore lmaoo, he did say "back in a wink" before he "died"
@@Shaesi. Reread my comment.
i saw the thumbnail and my eyes are already tearing up, oh boy this is going to be a fun ride
5:29 "... and sane..." broke me 😂
If u ladies gave a closer look at that necklace and understood its meaning, u would both cry your eyes out fot ages.
Ekko escaped heaven to come back to his people. & Heimer made that for him.
If Ekko was the MVP, Heimer is the SVP. ❤
Absolutely living for Kiss’ makeup this episode ❤
One of the best episode I’ve seen in a show!!
"Where's that guy been?" killed me lmao
If you want to cry again, look for the translation of the french song 😭
Heimerdinger is not dead. His race is called Yordles, magical creatures, and they are literally immortal. If they were to ever die in some concept, they return back to their home, Bandle City. It's a spiritual world that exists on another plane of existence.
Even more cooler is that the dance scene is 4fps (Ekko's rewind time is 4 sec)
Episode 7 is like a a tantalizing ending that the creators probably said “ you wish it was happy like this” “can we just pretend like it’s the first time….💋”
I just watched the episode (i'm watching each episode and then check the reaction on your channel lol).
After Ekko and Powder's kiss, when it switched to Jayce I was like "wait a minute pause you completely changed the mood". I had to pause and compose myself lmao
This is easily my favorite episode of the series. It's so good
You two have the sweetest souls
To save piltover and Zaun Jayce had to go through hell but Ekko had to give up Heaven.
Not me watching the JJK reaction and Arcane reaction within like 10 minutes. :))
Wonderful Reaction, sweet ladies. I'm late to the party of your Reaction channel, but glad I arrived.
If Vi knew that this is what the world would be like without her in it, she would gladly give her life for it.
The dancing scene is not leaving my head since saturday.
Damnn Kiss be looking sensational 😅🔥, this ep was everything and more, it hurts to see how they could of been 😂😭👏🏾
16:34 my reaction too
Can someone explain to me how they make the screen where arcane is playing disappear for some seconds ? How do i do that in editing ?
