I doubt the money angle I am just saying give him a shot. Also you didn't say this but anyone who brings up the fact wrestling is scripted is just a troll
It's ironic because that's one of the reasons CM Punk left WWE. He thought that part timers like Brock, Undertaker, and Rock were taking the main event spots and airtime of younger full time wrestlers who he thought deserved it more.
But he is not taking away from anyone because right now #UFC has the most depth it's never had in company history, they can totally afford roster wise to sign CM Punk. Wrestling is different because in wrestling ego and longevity is huge. Punk is doing this just to do it and live a dream and he should be commended for his balls to step in the octagon
I'm very proud of Phil. He knows Muai-Thai (don't know if I spelt that right) very well, and I think he could win some fights. And to all of you in the comments comparing him to Brock, they're 2 very different people. Brock wrestled in a weak Heavyweight division (no I'm not saying Randy Couture is weak but most of the division) and in the welterweight/lightweight divisions, there is talent and great competitors. I support you all of the way Phil, good luck, I'll be watching. Edit: This did not age well.
Finally a positive commebt about Phil! People say he got no chance at UFC, that he has never been in a real MMA fight, they talk like they been in his everyday life. Let Brooks try this, im hoping he does great
Randy couture was in his fucking 40s when he faced Lesnar so he was washed up and when a talented young Cain Velazquez came up to the challenge, Brock Lesnar nearly died
@@arbinpunk4819This is definitely not true. This is exactly why he deserves no credit, cause he believed his own hype. He thought that he can just enter without any background and do the same Brock Lesnar did

DarkHorizonEOS Overeem before he got popped and after brock came out of surgery on his stomach ( not making excuses ) he still lost but i think it would have been more competitive
I'm really happy for the guy, he is finally happy with his life and it's nice to see him trying out another passion of his. I've never really been an avid watcher of UFC or anything MMA related and now I have a reason, whether he does well at this or not. CM Punk has been a big inspiration in my life.
I get that pro wrestling isn't everyone's cup of coffee, but nobody knows for sure how he's going to fare until he makes his debut in the octagon. Plus, everyone bitching about Punk getting a shot without ever competing in MMA? Punk is a draw. The UFC is a business and they need big names. It's pretty simple shit.
not to mention he'll probably be pinned against some 22 year old, joe schmoe w/ little to no experience for his first fight. he may have an outside shot there. but the second fight (if there is one) is where he will get sloshed.
Exactly man, since lesnar left the ufc hasn't even come close to generating the ppv $ of his fights with there "world class" mma fighters. This move actually benefits those guys because punk will draw more eyes on the ufc which will result in more $ for those fighters!
Exactly. They will have the normal UFC audience plus curious wrestling fans who want to see how he fares, as well as probably a bunch of casuals infatuated.
mrbikiniinspector1 Thank you for shutting up this idiot Manuel who has no idea how demanding pro wrestling is, and how much pain goes into those bumps they take. That ring isn't memory foam trust me.
mrbikiniinspector1 they don't get hurt daily they get hurt there once in a time but they are trainning doing the moves safely UFC fighter's try to break there faces so both can be dangerous but wrestling is envolvling and getting safer and safer (a lot moves have been banned etc. etc) real fight's aren't getting safer real fights stay the same and why the fuck should I insult you did you Insult me no? I asked the other guy why is it more dangerous a normal question he insulted me and I insulted back so stop acting like im trying to be the boo guy here
Manuel Mania I mean they probably DO get hurt daily (bruises, cuts, etc) Look up AJ styles yoshi tatsu styles clash. And this whole idea you have of UFC fighters going out to kill the opponent is stupid, they go out to win not to break a guys neck. That type of thought process is why people try to get MMA banned across the country and why its still not legal in all 50 states.
Damn people are so negative this days... Dude is coming to UFC at 36, he got some balls to step into a UFC ring with close to none experience. i'm curious to watch it... eveybody should be
"This is my new career, 100%." He really believed he could be the same in UFC as in WWE. Dana White should have never offered him to fight in the UFC. He wasted years of his life. Someone who was 100% professional wrestling abandoned his passion because of this.
R.I.P Cm Punk great suicide idea but sorry you are not a gifted athlete like Brock Lesnar when it comes to real fights "And no I didn't fight punk but that dosen't mean he is more atheltic then Brock Lesnar dosen't mean he can win like Brock Lesnar" "He has a litte fighting background who cares everyone in the UFC does too even more and probably way more years then him" But come on it's obvious because I asked Captain Obvious and he told me the same
because you know this how? Did you fight him recently? No? Oh so what are you basing that off of? WWE? you know that's scripted right? I'd hold off all judgments until we see him fight for the first time.
Do you honestly think Phil hasn't thought of that? If he feels like he can compete then he can. This isn't WWE where they wrestle every week. Again until we see him fight hold on those judgments. If he gets wrecked then we'll never see him again in UFC.
I dont understand how someone that loves mma wants to start there journey in the ufc. Not even most ufc fighters started in the ufc. I can understand money wise you should, but punk "loves" mma. Why not start in a lower league first? Be better in the long run.
Cm Punk was angry that WWE didn't let him main event WrestleMania 29 & gave the main event to a part timer The Rock two years in a row, he was fired on his wedding day in 2014. He probably wanted to show WWE that he can do anything but at the end WWE won.
It's funny because one of the reason he left WWE was because he thought special attraction part timers they only bring in for ppv buys like The Rock, Undertaker, and Brock Lesnar were taking main event spots and airtime from young talented full time wrestlers that he thought deserved it more.
I think this is good. Whos to say punk won't whoop ass? Yall don't know what kind of training he's been doing or even fights behind the scenes. Either way it's going to be epic. Lol can you imagine his promos?
Been a "CM Punk - the WWE wrestler" fan for many years and I am definitley looking forward to being a "Phil Brooks - the UFC fighter" fan for however many years to come.
I honestly don't care about the shit in the comments, i just want to see if anyone shares my opinion. I'm pretty excited to see Phil in the UFC. I've watched him wrestle for a long time and always wondered if he could last in MMA. I have no idea how he will do, and I do agree he should have at least one match or two out of the UFC before getting a guaranteed spot. I'm just excited to see how it goes.
Whatever happens, I'm going to fucking watch it and that's all Dana and the UFC care about. No offense to Punk, but he's only there because they know they can make big bucks off of him. I'm sure he knows that as well but he's definitely going balls deep into this venture. I'm in the same boat as you. My first reaction was, "Aww shit he's gonna get destroyed." But the more I think about it the more I'm rooting for the guy. Good on him.
I agree, there's no way anyone in the world can get in with an 0-0 record unless they're a celebrity. Yup, he's not going to half-ass it, at least you know he will put on a good fight. I'm really interested to see who he fights and how he does. I don't know who they'd put him against, but if he goes Middleweight, I think maybe Munoz or Tavares as an intro fight (I have no idea what his skill level is at, so I just chose these two cuz they're near the bottom of the Top 10.
I heard about that, and while I'd like to see it purely because it'd be CM Punk fighting a Power Ranger, I don't know how good of a fight it would be. If they are skilled I'd love to see it, if not I'd rather see CM Punk as the main event of the undercard or something. Kind of like Urijah Faber's last couple fights. I agree. I know he obviously won't do anything like in the WWE, but I hope he does well.
Bitch was complaining about ryback being rough and does this. If he truly wanted to change wrestling he would have done it in another company. Sadly, he knows he's not in the league of hogan or hall and nash and he cant draw that amount of publicity to another wrestling company, he needs a big name machine so he sold out, sad, a big slap in the face of pro wrestling.
vernsi exactly idiot, you're missing the fucking point, now he's in a sport where the other person is trying to hurt you... Seeing as how Punk doesn't even know how to properly apply a GTS then I doubt his future in MMA will be too bright
Like it or not. His debut will be the most talked about fight in a long time. The buy rate will back that up. Now if Dana really wants to hype this even more then he should debut him in Chicago. That environment will be epic.
You guys know that when CM Punk initially signed with WWE, not many people gave him chances to be there for long, not to mention to be the huge superstar he became. Everyone, including MCMahon and HHH trashed him, as he "wasn't fit for WWE, that he didn't have what it takes". He took the challenge and shut everyone up. I'm not saying the same thing will happen again with the UFC.. just saying Punk truly stands out when odds are against him, and he is a natural work horse. Plus he have trained MMA and is friend with the Gracies, Rhonda Rousey, and Chael Sonnen, among many others... so.. great advise and inputs will come from everywhere!
MrFr1day Cm Punk is not a Lashley our a Lesnar Lesnar is a badass and a beast Lashley is a badass he was in the army too but when I look at Cm Punk I don't see a bad or an beast compared with lesnar or lashley
MrFr1day look I dont give a fuck what people said when he became a wrestler wrestling is not a real fight he is 36 and alrighty had some injuries and the guys there are tough as hell
So excited. I think you guys are underestimating Punk and other Wrestlers. Although most WWE superstars do NOT have the skill required for UFC, somebody like Punk could be perfect. Every WWE superstar has atleast the strength required, do you think they magicly lift each other up? Some of the kicks that Punk does show that he is trained, and also he'll have the wrestling advantage over pretty much every fighter, give him a chance before you say anything
***** you said he would have an advantage over pretty much every fighter and because he has wrestled in the past..., do you realized how stupid that sounds?
Punk is being humble coming into this and people are giving him so much shit. He was given an opportunity to do something he really wanted to try and he took it. He isn't doing it as a slap in the face to other fighters who aim to make it to the UFC. He even said he respects any fighter who has stepped in there. He also said he is coming to either kick ass or get his ass kicked. He didn't say he is the greatest and will demolish everyone and become champion.
He HAD to be humble, he knows damn well if he came into *UFC* with that cocky douchebag attitude he had behind the scenes in wwe locker rooms it would end very bad for him, these MMA guys aren't playing around and his B.S would be met with serious consequences
I'm 100 percent sure CM Punk would dominate the interviews. He has amazing mic skills. He can easily draws crowd. If shows one win a legitimate one. Then he could promote an amazing match.
So much hostility for CM Punk around here. I personally love the guy, as far as how good he will be in a fight, that's in the air. I would give him around 3 fights to really call how I see him. I'm all for this and hope to hear Joe's thoughts on JRE.
Remember when Brock Lesnar talked about joining and everyone doubted him? And then he won the belt and everyone shut up? I don't see punk winning the belt but I do see him doing great in the ufc. How can you judge a guys fighting when you've never seen him fight. And don't say wwe proved it because we all know that shit is fake
Remember when Brock Lesnar was nearly 300lbs of pure muscle and was one of the most athletic guys on the WWE roster ever? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now but I just don't see him succeeding.
is not fake is scripted , different things it hurts as fuck, they wrestle injured and not matter what they need tofinish the show so the only thing you can prove of wwe is that he's tough and a world class athlete. but i agreed with you i dont see cm punk reaching the level of brock lesnar but i will love to see him fighting and we never know what will happen, i think i will love more to see him with joe rogan as commentaror.
Like many people here I can't see Punk at this point of his life dong too well honestly (not to take away from what he's capable of but just at how much MMA has come and whatnot) but I am excited for him and will be rooting for him, win or lose it's a pretty ballsy move to come into professional MMA and I wish him all the best in his training.
To the people comparing this situation to Lesnar's, Brock was an NCAA wrestling champion in a weak UFC heavyweight division, at the time. Punk is going into a very talent rich division (welterweight or middleweight) with 0 professional fights under his belt. He has good BJJ, but I don't think he's ever competed. I don't see him ever being the champion or Top 5, but he will definitely be an entertaining as fuck fighter and make truck loads of cash. Hopefully his walkout music will be Living Colour. It's clobberin' time!!!!
Weak division? He beat Randy and Frank, even made Shane Carwin tap out, Brock had diverticulitis and removed a foot of his colon right before the fight still gave Cain a run for his money despite losing.
When I saw Punk signed with UFC there was a smile on my face because I know he wanted to do this for a long time. I am glad he moved on from WWE and he will be good in UFC since he always gets 100% of himself in everything he does.
I genuinely don't understand all the negativity surrounding CM Punks decision to join UFC. Immediately after he signed he is bombarded with "Your going to get smashed" but you don't know that, and he doesn't know that. I personally think it was a great decision for Punk. He has had a long love affair with the sport, and has always wanted to try it, and he said it himself he couldn't live with himself if he never gave it a go. So whats the big deal? if he loses, who cares? if he wins, great. I think he deserves enormous credit for having the balls to step in to the octagon, not many people would. He knows that he runs the risk of being knocked out, or submitted early on, but he wants to give it a go. Good on him i say. Had a dream to compete, and is now getting the chance. And you tell me your not interested in seeing his debut fight? you tell me ppv buys wont increase? you tell me it wont put more media, and eyes on the product? of course it will. And is that not a good thing? so overall, i just think stop being keyboard warriors, acting tough and like you know everything about the sport, and just see what happens.
There is literally nothing worse than snarky MMA fans saying this is bringing the UFC down, fake wrestler this, fake wrestler that. The guy's been training for years, he's going to live, eat, sleep and shit fighting just like everyone else, deal with it. I seriously hope he does well, I want to see him come in and hold his own. The funny thing is, he comes in and loses, MMA fans shit on him, he comes in and wins they shit on him, so fuck it, he's doing it for himself, and good for him.
This is why I hate wwe fans so much. 1) Training and the real thing are completely different experiences 2) Everything happens at a faster pace and CM Punk is used to script fighting aka fake fighting. This is different, completely unpredictable. 3) CM Punk has not even been in a MMA match and he gets a contract? He's just a publicity magnet, just like Lesnar was.
Archangel760 you must have forgot how brock was a NCAA division 1 heavy weight champion and UFC champion.Plus "fake fighting"?Have you ever fallen off of a 30 foot ladder or gotten a fractured skull.Probably not but punk has from supposed "fake fighting".
Long time UFC fan hear, and to be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to his debut. It takes a lot of guts to step into the octagon and I'm excited to see what he's got. I'll be rooting for him but will also keep in my mind that the cards are stacked against him.
I'm shocked UFC did this. VERY shocked. I'd understand if he was a commentator or even analyst but this? Damn, Dana did him a HUGE favor. This has gotta be a favor or something. UFC can't be desperate right? Nevertheless, good luck, Punker.
He will die in the cage. Lesnar was a freak athlete and an NCAA wrestling champion for god sake. Punk is a white belt at bjj and 2 bad knees. Yoel romero would kill him as would bisping, rockhold, kennady, machida, henderson, mousassi or ANYONE
I believe a lot of Punk doubters may be pleasantly surprised by him. This could go either way- but Punk's not stupid, he knows what he's in for. He doesn't drink, or take drugs- never have- he's got incredible discipline, and doesn't take any crap (which is one of the things that has given him a reputation in the WWE). But at the end of the day- it's $$$
At the end of the day cm punk is a well known name and this only brings in more attention and buzz to ufc so wether people like him or hate him they will all see him compete , good luck to him for giving this a go
i love how Cena fans are loving the fact that he might get his ass kicked in the UFC! but guess what, you got to have balls to enter in the UFC at 37 years old with no experience. he is not expecting any titles, it's just a Bucket List thing. Lashley done it, Batista done it, Alberto del Rio done it... good for him for taking a shot, UFC will gain a lot from this as well.
Muyanzi Reid CM Punk did Muay Thai, Kempo and JiuJitsu! he trained with the Gracies, Chael told 2 years ago that CM Punk was already thinking about going to MMA. you have a friend who's a Rocket Scientist, do you have any background in the matter??? Physics or something?
People are saying ohh hes gonna get destroyed he cane even take a kick from Ryback byt theres a difference in expecting a hit and bracing urself then getting kicked really hard without warning. if i ran up to chuck liddel and kicked him as hard as i can in stomach and he wasnt expecting it im pretty sure hes gonna be hurting
"bracing urself then getting kicked really hard without warning" Basically MMA fights on a nutshell. Punk's a malnourished pussy who can't handle physicality.
Lol. Have u even seen cm punks matches before! He is able to take more hits and is able to deliver more hits compared to these ufc fighters. Unlike these ufc fighters, he is does not get knockout by simple kicks or punches, neither does he tapout to weak submissions, cm punk will totally own and dominate the ufc. Afterall he is a multi time world champion in the wwe and defeated ryback multiple times. CM punk is best in the world.
Lam Jianhua buddy you're a str8 tool if you think punk taking a fake chair shot means he can handle getting decked as fast and hard as possible in the fuckin face. Punk has no mma record. and with weight divisions, the physical traits of his that wwe made so prominent don't mean shit. There will be dudes the same size as him who are faster stronger and more experienced than him. I like cm punk I want and hope for him to do well, but realistically here...After he makes his ufc debut, you are never going to see him again
CM Punk has the balls to do things that nobody else has to do. He will shine in UFC. Win lose does not matter. I got respect for him even though I am a Chris Weidman fan...
I salute Punk. Thats a man that knows what he wants . Like he said it's now or never to display his mma skills and he wants to test himself.. kuz he's getting up there in age but sometimes age is just a number. So I ask the ppl keep bitching kuz he's here to stay whether you like it or not. Respect for Phil Brooks for the making the transition .
Archangel760 No, that is Real Wrestling they do in the Olympic Games. The "Pro Wrestling" i am referring to (Known as Pro Wrestling like it or not)is the form of entertainment you see on television. That is another "arguement" I laugh at. I am not going to say it is for children simply because I dislike or lack an understanding of it.
Just be thankful that he's going into the ufc. People always say people from wwe can't fight- well at least he's giving you the opportunity to see. Lesnar mainly won by overpowering his opponents, but because this is a smaller weight this is when you see if wwe people have the technique to contest in the ufc.
CM Punk is going to embarrass himself. I predict him getting knocked out or submitted first round. Background in kempo and training with Gracies isn't going to be enough..
ceeesjay08 I agree w/ both sentiments... however, he's older, never competed, he's not doing it because he can't do anything else. meaning this isn't life or death. he's a millionaire looking to see IF he can compete. training is where fights are won. will his body hold up? will his mental state be what other successful fighters have? that being said... he's not going to be fighting some champion. he'll prob be up against some UFC "jobber". someone maybe he can compete with in order to draw more PPV buy-rates for his second fight; which will probably be his first real fight (just look at who batista fought in his fight). again... not saying he cant fight or wont win. but it'll most likely be his second fight that we'll know more. that is if he makes it to a second fight.
ceeesjay08 Hahah huh, Im a huge fan of MMA and I have been boxing in amateur fights for 3 years. I mean he has built up a bit of a legacy for himself and he is going to throw it away by competing past his prime and taking some unnecessary beatings. Just my opinion but thanks for saying I dont have balls when you don't know me at all.
Michael Landsberg should take notes on how to hold an interview. Joe was very respectful and didnt belittle Punk for being a former WWE wrestler like Michael did. He asked real questions about how Punk will prepare for the UFC and he stayed away from asking about his past career. Lansberg on the other hand mocked Punk's past and was obviously just trying to get a reaction for more views. Im really excited to see Punk in the octagon and see what he can do, hopefully he doesnt get his ass handed to him haha
part of the reason why dana and lorenzo (not sure how you spell it) signed cm punk up is because he has lots of fans over in the wwe, now this will draw all his fans over to ufc. And remember cm punk is probably in the top 5 most popular wwe superstars of all time. P.S. i dont watch wwe anymore after i watched a ufc fight
SoulEdge41 Im about to make the same comment. Give me thumbs up so maybe people answer and we find out the song. My comment should be among the new ones a few minutes from now.
Why's everyone so negative? It would make for quite an inspiring story should he have some success in the UFC. Certainly would give a lot of guys who feel late to the fight party to believe they can make it despite starting fighting later in life.
Huge middle finger to the face of basically every pro MMA fighter that isn't in the UFC. No offense to CM Punk but there is no way that he is ready for the UFC. Not even ready for a pro MMA fight against a nobody in a cheap organisation.

Wasn't Randy in his fucking 40's when he won the belt that time too?
CM punk was so deluded then, just as I was when I was 17 year old
No offense but cm punk is the GOAT of mma
I don't think cm punk ever believed he would go swinging in UFC at 40 years old. He just wanted to do what he loved whatever the result.

Just Vince and HHH
Cm punk fans like to pretend he hates cena because they do
Victor Cortez The fuck are you talking about kid? Cena has nothing to do with any of this lol

I also like the approach of not just getting UFC sponsorship (like he mentioned in that long interview), but being a real fighter to get it.

Well that didnt age well
"Luck is for losers joe rogan".....the last words of CM Punk. R.I.P
Bet he wished to go back and accept the luck
he really spoke that into existence

Brock got wrecked when he fought someone who was actually good. And by a Mexican :) You never saw him again in the ufc. And you're forgetting lashley

MrFr1day He got wrecked by the world champ so don't blame him :) But we did see him after, in the Overeem fight. Where he again got demolished.
DarkHorizonEOS Overeem before he got popped and after brock came out of surgery on his stomach ( not making excuses ) he still lost but i think it would have been more competitive
I agree, Brock said he was 100 percent coming into UFC 141 but it sure was a factor. Overeem targeted the stomach too.
I'm really happy for the guy, he is finally happy with his life and it's nice to see him trying out another passion of his. Punk has always been like this he's been been dealt a bad hand tho
This is a slap in the face to every aspiring fighter, this is basically the UFC saying if you are famous you can fight in the UFC.
Finally someone that knows what's up.
not to mention he'll probably be pinned against some 22 year old, joe schmoe w/ little to no experience for his first fight. he may have an outside shot there. but the second fight (if there is one) is where he will get sloshed.
Joe pwned him proper at the end there lol
Not really
"Luck is for losers." Punk must have had a lot of luck then
Wwe is more dangerous than ufc
Manuel Mania they fly from ladders to tables you fuckin moron
Manuel Mania has any one died in ufc?
mrbikiniinspector1 Thank you for shutting up this idiot Manuel who has no idea how demanding pro wrestling is, and how much pain goes into those bumps they take.
R.I.P Cm Punk great suicide idea but sorry you are not a gifted athlete like Brock Lesnar when it comes to real fights
"And no I didn't fight punk but that dosen't mean he is more atheltic then Brock Lesnar dosen't mean he can win like Brock Lesnar" "He has a litte fighting background who cares everyone in the UFC does too even more and probably way more years then him" But come on it's obvious because I asked Captain Obvious and he told me the same
because you know this how? Did you fight him recently? No? Oh so what are you basing that off of? WWE? you know that's scripted right? I'd hold off all judgments until we see him fight for the first time.
MrFr1day He's 36. His knees and elbows are fucked. He's had multiple concussions. Get a grip on yourself.
Do you honestly think Phil hasn't thought of that? If he feels like he can compete then he can. This isn't WWE where they wrestle every week. Again until we see him fight hold on those judgments. If he gets wrecked then we'll never see him again in UFC.
MrFr1day You can't honestly think he'll do well....
DragoniteShiny people probably said that the 1st time brock fought
I dont understand how someone that loves mma wants to start there journey in the ufc. Not even most ufc fighters started in the ufc. I can understand money wise you should, but punk "loves" mma. Why not start in a lower league first? Be better in the long run.
Jerry it’s me I love you will you marry me
He did it in the UFC for half a million reasons!
Cm Punk was angry that WWE didn't let him main event WrestleMania 29 & gave the main event to a part timer The Rock two years in a row, he was fired on his wedding day in 2014. He probably wanted to show WWE that he can do anything but at the end WWE won.
They even made fun of his UFC loss on an episode of WWE Raw.
Even if he loses 10 seconds into his first match, the amount of fucking money they will throw at him will be ridic
Geez this didn't age well for poor CM Punk
How many pissed off fighters must be out there that are training their ass off to get in the ufc and this dude gets a free try out lol smh
not really a free tryout as he will be making more than alot of ufc fighters as hes a drawing attraction if he good or bad .
It's funny because one of the reason he left WWE was because he thought special attraction part timers they only bring in for ppv buys like The Rock, Undertaker, and Brock Lesnar were taking main event spots and airtime from young talented full time wrestlers that he thought deserved it more.
"Luck is for losers" is his catchphrase.
Kind of a smart ass remark
Ironic, luck was the only thing that can save him in a UFC fight
I think this is good. Whos to say punk won't whoop ass? Yall don't know what kind of training he's been doing or even fights behind the scenes. Either way it's going to be epic. Lol can you imagine his promos?
Hehehehe.....heh
I found the name of the song
Paul Oakenfold - Ready, Steady, Go
Michael Calfan - Resurrection
have a nice day
Been a "CM Punk - the WWE wrestler" fan for many years and I am definitley looking forward to being a "Phil Brooks - the UFC fighter" fan for however many years to come.
it only took 2 fights. I mean ass kickings
Loooooooook in my eyesssssss what do you seeeeeeee? 2 nil in the UFC.
DannyMorrs Rumor is that he might fight Tommy Oliver, aka the green power ranger. Dude is 42 and has a 1-0 record. Who knows man.
Right there with you two. Although wrestling in WWE has literally nothing in common with real wrestling/ufc wrestling good luck to him tho
Wow time flys it’s already been 5-6 years
Bitch was complaining about ryback being rough and does this. If he truly wanted to change wrestling he would have done it in another company. Sadly, he knows he's not in the league of hogan or hall and nash and he cant draw that amount of publicity to another wrestling company, he needs a big name machine so he sold out, sad, a big slap in the face of pro wrestling.
Lol yeah he cried around when Ryback hurted him and now .. I don't wanna know .. after a fighter could hurt him seriously
I had some respect after listening to the podcast with cabana but all that is gone now, what a fucking bitch
alistahr yeah but I never liked him and I never cared for him so what lets see how he is gonna do in UFC
Ryback is a shitty wrestler, your not supposed to hurt your opponent. Dumbass
vernsi exactly idiot, you're missing the fucking point, now he's in a sport where the other person is trying to hurt you...
Level of respect went up a little for CM Punk
CM Punk is the man😎🎉👏
Punks got balls stepping into UFC, imagine punk doing the GTS lol.
And then telling him " You have a vagina"
Hiram Alvarez hahahaha then maybe when he wins a championship he also runs away with it.
This aged well
He says he's either going to kick ass or get his ass kicked. I respect CM Punk....but I think it will be the latter.
Why do all wwe superstars try UFC and think they are going to be good? Like this always happens
MrPJScott - The Iron Man of RUclips because they think they can do something real lmao Punk is no Lesnar not even a Ken Shamrock
Wrestling is part of MMA, fool! so they are halfway there.
MrFr1day Cm Punk is not a Lashley our a Lesnar
Lesnar is a badass and a beast
Lashley is a badass he was in the army too
but when I look at Cm Punk I don't see a bad or an beast compared with lesnar or lashley
Manuel Mania That's funny. They said the same thing about him as a wrestler. Look how that turned out.
MrFr1day look I dont give a fuck what people said when he became a wrestler wrestling is not a real fight he is 36 and alrighty had some injuries and the guys there are tough as hell
CM Punk in the octagon will be something worth seeing!
Yeah... Lets wait & see. He's a smart guy. He'll learn well.
"wrestling advantage over pretty much every fighter", you do realize that fake professional wrestling has nothing to do with real wrestling?, dumbass.
Punk has done real wrestling, and it will still come in handy
***** you said he would have an advantage over pretty much every fighter and because he has wrestled in the past..., do you realized how stupid that sounds?
Was a bit of an exaggeration, I was very excited, however over many he will.
I'm so excited to see his debut, I bet he can do the same high flying maneuvers that he does off the ropes off the cage. This is gonna be amazing!
Wow this didn't age well at all
Little did I know that he fights like fucking Frankenstein 🤣
I'm 100 percent sure CM Punk would dominate the interviews. He has amazing mic skills. He can easily draws crowd. If shows one win a legitimate one. Then he could promote an amazing match.
Man what if Punk goes on a crazy 10 fight win streak????
WWE plebs will go crazy
Nope
Jake Paul He got destroyed lol
That's funny
He has the right humble mindset and ready 2 Go, Great asset 4 UFC!
I think Undertaker would've been great in his prime for UFC
No
100%, black belt in BJJ and also hes been a fan of combat sports like all his life. Him at 28-32 inside the octagon would have been scary
@@TJ_1611 no.
@@Guhvfy haha why would you say no
So much hostility for CM Punk around here.
And don't say wwe proved it because we all know that shit is fake
bprodigy25 Agreed.
Remember when Brock Lesnar was nearly 300lbs of pure muscle and was one of the most athletic guys on the WWE roster ever? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now but I just don't see him succeeding.
Yeah I also remember that back then, he could take steroids because it was part of the job.
is not fake is scripted , different things it hurts as fuck, they wrestle injured and not matter what they need tofinish the show so the only thing you can prove of wwe is that he's tough and a world class athlete. but i agreed with you i dont see cm punk reaching the level of brock lesnar but i will love to see him fighting and we never know what will happen, i think i will love more to see him with joe rogan as commentaror.
dude its not fake its scripted they try to protect themselves but its very physically demanding
you get in that ring and say its fake then buddy
Well he does have a 100% losing record
@@saimcheeda93 his last match was no contest so 50% losing record
When Virgin nose sooner to get non virgin
Can't wait to see the fight. I just hope Punk knows what he is doing and can fight. I hope he does well.
CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK. Can't wait to here that chant in the Arena
Did vince mcmahon give this video a thumbs down?
CM punk looked back at this video and the stupid decision he made and disliked the video
Coming from someone who doesn't like WWE, this guy has a great attitude. I wish him the best I hope he is ready.
1) Training and the real thing are completely different experiences
2) Everything happens at a faster pace and CM Punk is used to script fighting aka fake fighting.
Yeah that's what everyone said about Dave Batista and bobby lashley let ass hole...talk is cheap, not everyone can be like Brock lesnar
Long time UFC fan hear, and to be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to his debut. It takes a lot of guts to step into the octagon and I'm excited to see what he's got. I'll be rooting for him but will also keep in my mind that the cards are stacked against him.
the salt is real in these comments smh
lol yes I know. I came here just for the CM Punk butthurt
4 years later..."sprinkle me with luck, Joe"
I'm shocked UFC did this. VERY shocked.
I'd understand if he was a commentator or even analyst but this? Damn, Dana did him a HUGE favor. This has gotta be a favor or something. UFC can't be desperate right?
Nevertheless, good luck, Punker.
Luck is for Losers!
It's a favor for Dana really. Punk against a can is going to do huge business regardless
its all about making them money and alot of wwe fans will watch him
He will die in the cage. Lesnar was a freak athlete and an NCAA wrestling champion for god sake. Punk is a white belt at bjj and 2 bad knees. Yoel romero would kill him as would bisping, rockhold, kennady, machida, henderson, mousassi or ANYONE
he will not fight a top 10 guy they give him some one thats like ranged # 15 or something
Witness 3 minutes of BS from a Conman
At the end of the day cm punk is a well known name and this only brings in more attention and buzz to ufc so wether people like him or hate him they will all see him compete , good luck to him for giving this a go
i love how Cena fans are loving the fact that he might get his ass kicked in the UFC! but guess what, you got to have balls to enter in the UFC at 37 years old with no experience. he is not expecting any titles, it's just a Bucket List thing. Lashley done it, Batista done it, Alberto del Rio done it... good for him for taking a shot, UFC will gain a lot from this as well.
CM Punks best friend is Chael Sonnen. I'm sure he has plenty experience already.
Lol That's like saying my best friend is a Rocket scientist so I have experience in Rocket Science. Very stupid.
Muyanzi Reid No its pretty easy for Chael to train CM Punk. For all we know he could have been training him already for years.
João Augusto C. Moutinho Does Punk have anything higher than a White belt on any one of those Martial Arts?
As a fan of wwe and cm punk I hope he really does well in the ufc
What's with everyone thinking that he can't do this? I have a feeling that he's gonna be great.
bump
barrymk400 your feelings are not to be trusted.
I heard Chael is looking for a sidekick while filming ''The Lord of the bad predictions''. Dont miss that opportunity dude.
Uhhh well...
anony mous yeah I'm guessing he'll get a title shot soon
The funny thing is, regardless if Punk is successful in UFC or not, he'll still be a bigger name than all these UFC fighters that are talking shit.
"bracing urself then getting kicked really hard without warning"
Basically MMA fights on a nutshell.
Lam Jianhua this is absolutely hilarious.
@@lamjianhua2884 WAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Who else is watching this during quarantine and reading comments and Joey Diaz's voice?
Background in kempo my ass !!
CM Punk has the balls to do things that nobody else has to do. He will shine in UFC. Win lose does not matter. I got respect for him even though I am a Chris Weidman fan...
I recon if he is trained right and he really is passionate for this . He has got a good chance and could very well kick some ass .
Casual
Lol you really believed that.
Lol @ these "arguements" between Pro Wrestling and MMA fans.
j porter my point exactly.
Pro Wrestling is what you see in the Olympics. WWE is fake acting trash meant for kids
Kokainuser True. But some people just don't want to understand. So they bash.
Intelligent decisión by Dana White. Punk is gonna make UFC bigger than we can ever imagine.
Goat, cm punk in his prime would absolutely destroy gsp
Just be thankful that he's going into the ufc. People always say people from wwe can't fight- well at least he's giving you the opportunity to see. Lesnar mainly won by overpowering his opponents, but because this is a smaller weight this is when you see if wwe people have the technique to contest in the ufc.
CM Punk is going to embarrass himself. I predict him getting knocked out or submitted first round. Background in kempo and training with Gracies isn't going to be enough..
Choosing to compete is not embarrassing. The person who criticizes him for a decision they don't have the balls to do is embarrassing.
ceeesjay08 I agree w/ both sentiments... however, he's older, never competed, he's not doing it because he can't do anything else. meaning this isn't life or death. he's a millionaire looking to see IF he can compete. training is where fights are won. will his body hold up? will his mental state be what other successful fighters have?
that being said... he's not going to be fighting some champion. he'll prob be up against some UFC "jobber". someone maybe he can compete with in order to draw more PPV buy-rates for his second fight; which will probably be his first real fight (just look at who batista fought in his fight).
again... not saying he cant fight or wont win. but it'll most likely be his second fight that we'll know more. that is if he makes it to a second fight.
ceeesjay08 Hahah huh, Im a huge fan of MMA and I have been boxing in amateur fights for 3 years. I mean he has built up a bit of a legacy for himself and he is going to throw it away by competing past his prime and taking some unnecessary beatings. Just my opinion but thanks for saying I dont have balls when you don't know me at all.
agree, this will probably be more embracing than Bautista´s debut.
69gangstar69 Yeah I kind of agree. The guy who got that awesome headkick (Josh Samman) would be a decent opponent for him to start Middleweight at
He may never be ready to fight at the level of a ufc fighter but one things for sure. He will bring so much money in what ever fight card he is in.
IMAGINE.... GSP Vs. CM Punk! $$$ Dana!
R.I.P = Punk, $$$ = Dana :D
hi i'm new to ufc, so does GSP stand for George Saint Pierre
Arjan Mann yes. but he is (semi) retired now
i thought of this fight lol
I have a feeling that Dana wouldn't sign punk if gsp was still fighting and not retired
Im really excited to see Punk in the octagon and see what he can do, hopefully he doesnt get his ass handed to him haha
brock did good cuz he had a ncaa wrestling background. cm punk didnt start doing anything in combat sports til like two years ago!
also, everyone he faced were either a bum or out of their prime.
Lol for reals he beat nothing but washed up fighters and when he finally faced a talented fighter named Cain Velazquez, he almost died
this make the ufc look desperate, like there ratings suck sooo bad that they had to bring a wwe star in!
I think he's been training in Jiu Jitsu since he was like 15 or something
he started training like two years ago dude!
How deluded you can be!! CM punk was so deluded
Jason david frank vs cm punk...................
That would be cool.
there was a thing between them a couple of years ago
Lensar vs CM Punk
In a real fight UFC not WWE
Vladut Chiciudean Lesnar would destroy him.
Oliver Bensusan I know but it could be a fun match
If Punk is in UFC it's only because that gives audience to the UFC.
betrayal :(
part of the reason why dana and lorenzo (not sure how you spell it) signed cm punk up is because he has lots of fans over in the wwe, now this will draw all his fans over to ufc. And remember cm punk is probably in the top 5 most popular wwe superstars of all time.
P.S. i dont watch wwe anymore after i watched a ufc fight
anyone knows the song in the background?
Paul oakenfold - ready set go
Meet Trivedi
ok thx, do you by any chance know the second one?
SoulEdge41 Im about to make the same comment. Give me thumbs up so maybe people answer and we find out the song. My comment should be among the new ones a few minutes from now.
DesertStateInEu Michael Calfan - Resurrection and ready set go - Paul Oakenfold , thank me later :P
SoulEdge41
Thanks dude!!!!!
Why's everyone so negative? It would make for quite an inspiring story should he have some success in the UFC. Certainly would give a lot of guys who feel late to the fight party to believe they can make it despite starting fighting later in life.
