For people who didn't watch the fight this is basically what happened Derrick Lewis back flared up and affected him and Francis was scared of losing his stamina so didn't want to throw punches.
there is more to it than just holding stamina , because if that was the case, Francis would have went all out punching in the 3rd. He got a reality check when he fought miocic, I don't think he ever got over that fight.
